View 1 RepliesIs there anyway to get the keyboard to show emojis when typing. I.e. when you type smile, you should see a smile emoji to enter, without going into you emoji part of the keyboard.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI cant see the smiley icon for my emoji. Even when I press and hold the microphone icon the icon for the emoji is not there. I tried to use my keyboard everywhere like my note and other apps. Still cant see my emoji icons.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have this increasingly annoying issue with the emojis on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6). I am able to use and see them in every app except messaging. I send emojis in a text, I can see them and so can the person receiving them. However, when they send emojis to me, I cannot see them, it just comes up as '??'. I have changed the input mode and tried all 3 modes (GSM alphabet, unicode and automatic) but none of them work. My Android version is 5.1.1 ....
View 7 Replies View RelatedThere are ways to have ios emoji on android without rooting. I came across one but was late since for some annoying reason google removed the app. It's called Emoji Fonts for FlipFont 3. You can look up the youtube video "change emoji character without root."

View 8 Replies View RelatedPretty much what the title says. My Samsung S6 is set up to use the Google keyboard and the Google Now launcher.
I'll receive a notification for a message, tap the notification, then hold my finger over the scanner to unlock and go directly to the app that notified me. The phone unlocks fine, and I'm taken directly to the app (usually Facebook or SMS)
Normally, the first thing I'll want to do is reply to the message for which I was notified, so I'll tap in the text field but receive no response. It sometimes takes several seconds for the phone to respond and display the Google keyboard. This doesn't occur with the Samsung keyboard.
I have trusted voice enabled so saying "OK google" should unlock my screen but it doesn't. This is difficult when I am trying to set an alarm. I don't feel like picking my phone up and having to use my fingerprint to unlock the screen and accept the alarm.
try to confirm that it doesn't or does unlock their lock screen on the s6? I am on the latest software.
My Nexus 5, with default Google Keyboard, has stopped showing word suggestions. It used to work but doesn't anymore. The keyboard is not set to the same language as the system language.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHTC One. I turned it off last night for a movie and turned it back on a couple hours later -- only to find I could not access my keyboard in text or email. Whenever I try to send a text the "tap to speak" voice input option is all that comes up. I can't seem to access the keyboard by tapping the "keyboard" icon to the left of the mic. I tried disabling Google Voice Input but can't seem to make that work.
I have SwiftKey installed as the keyboard and turning it on or off doesn't seem to work. I used an iPhone for three years and never had problems like this... I was so excited to switch to an android but am slowly regretting my decision, because now I more or less cannot use my smartphone without my keyboard
I have recently acquiredthe 5230 and cannot access the virtual keyboard from the keyboard icon in messaging I only get the handwriting /alphanumeric option to choose when the keyboard icon is touched. I don't to have a "text input" option in "settings" as I have seen this suggested in other answers to keyboard problems but these were for differnt phones.Appreciate any advice.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI restarted my phone and it is on the lock screen with a 4 digit pin to unlock it, the problem is that has switched the default keyboard to the voice keyboard (I think it's called Google Now).
I can't access settings or the app drawer. Restarting it the phone still needs the pin. I have 'said' the pin, 'said' it followed by 'enter' or 'return' but it's not working.
The phone also turned off my ringer for some reason when it restarted ....
When making many calls often the first thing they ask me is to select an option by pressing 1 or 2 etc.Currently as soon as they ask this I have to abandon the call.I only have a screen whilst I can access the keyboard when not making a call,How do I access the keyboard whilst I am on a call?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on any email icon and the Text icon nothing happens. Whereas in the past (like even early this afternoon) I would be able to see emails or texts - or if no email or texts it would say 'No messages' - I cannot open either emails or text and therefore cannot create, read, or anything else. The scroll button is inop after clicking on email or text and I must it the exit button to regain control of the scroll button.

Is that a bug, or is it a setting I don't have right?
After updating Android to 4.4.3 on ATT, when I send out a text with an emoji the text sends with the emoji and then another sends without an emoji directly after it. For example if I sent out a text that said: The HTC is cool.Texts would send saying:
The HTC is cool
AND:
The HTC is cool
This is the stock HTC Messaging app, using the swiftkey pro keyboard. None of this happened on 4.4.2. I also should mention that I am using the ART developer runtime, but I don't see that making a difference.
I have a HTC one and after what I assume was a whole system update (around 2+ weeks ago) it gave me the emojis/emoticons on the standard keyboard instead of just the smileys. Usually I have a character limit of 160 on the normal text messages but as soon as I add an emoji it cuts it to 70.
I've read somewhere that adding an emoji means all characters double, cutting it nearly in half, but the thing is, it was only a couple days ago that it started cutting down to 70. I was putting emojis in and it was only taking one character, and not changing the overall character limit.
I was wondering whether there was the possibility to change the sms formatting so emojis will only take one character and not change the overall count?
How to use the new Emojis which "came out" with 6.0.1? checked Google keyboard but it contained only old emoticons.whats the procedure for enabling the latest emojis
View 3 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled my Swype keyboard and was in the process of reinstalling a new one when my phone screen shut off. Now, on the lock screen, no keyboard pops up when I try to enter my password, only the Google Voice red button, which doesn't actually record anything. It just stays statically in red 'waiting for results.' When I press the keyboard image next to the password input box, the 'Choose Input Method' option shows up, with no options to select from. I've tried clearing the cache as well, to no avail.
How can I get past this seemingly minor problem which has completely locked me out of my phone?
I just got my Nexus 5 working today. I installed a keyboard app and everytime I use the app there is a little keyboard icon that shows up in the notification bar at the top left. How do I make that go away?
