Galaxy S5 :: Disable USB Charging - Charger Incompatible
Dec 21, 2015
I want to disable usb charging on my galaxy s5. The charging port won't work so I've switched to wireless charging. But I get constant error messages saying that my charger is incompatible (while nothing is plugged in). I've tried cleaning the port but that didn't work.
I tried many different chargers. Finally got it to charge very slowly by taking out the sim then charging.I don't wanna have to remove my sim every time I want to charge my phone. Galaxy S5.
How to disable the red charging light on the S6 edge? I don't want to turn off LED notifications all together, just don't want that bright red charging light.
Ping pong... Ping pong. All night! Only way to disable is to turn notification volume to 0 which I cannot do as I am on call via an app. Do not disturb doesn't work either.
Any way to disable the wireless charging sound without rooting or silencing all notifications? This is pretty annoying not being able to turn it off. The first notification when I place the phone on the charger I'm fine with. It's the ones throughout the night that wake me. I've read when it's up to charge and trickling back down, or getting hot and pausing charges is why this happens. The only solution I found is rooting, which I rather not do until Knox isn't tripped.
I've recently purchased within the last 2 weeks the Blackberry Bold 9780. For some reason I can't get the phone to charge in any Car using the 12v cigarette lighter. I've had no issues with charging it from the Mains and the USB port on a PC. When plugging into the Cigarette lighter, the charger's LED lights up to indicate that there is power being received to the charging unit and after inserting the mini USB connection into the Phone, I get the connection bleep and the clock appears, however after all of this I still get no charging indicator on the battery. Also sometimes when I re-connect the cable I get the below message from the phone:
`Some USB hubs might not provide enough power. Plug the hub into a power outlet (if available) and re-connect your Blackberry device. Try connecting to another USB port (different computer, USB hub or travel charger). Verify that your USB cable is securely connected to your Blackberry device and USB port. Verify that your Computer is standby, hibernate or sleep mode. Verify that Blackberry device USB drivers are installed on your Computer`.
I've now tried three different car chargers all supported by Blackberry - I've sinced purchased one of the Mini USB Chargers that plug into the Cigarette lighter Mini-USB cables - still the same issue... I've tried charging in other cars - also my wife owns a HTC Wildfire and she's able to charge her phone from the Mini USB charger I have recently purchased.
I've spoken to Orange who don't seem to have heard of any issues like this - I've since asked Orange to replace the phone which I'm hoping to receive within the next 24hrs...
Since yesterday my C7 will not charge through the wall charger. I have tried a different charger and different wall point. I have also tried cleaning the contacts.
The phone does charge through the USB cable with the PC though.
It is only one month old and bought from new on Orange contract. However I am not in the UK again until November.I have tried a different charger and different wall point.
I have a 3rd party charger, that charges fine my phone, Kindle etc. It's able to do 2,5A (5V) on output. But when I connect it to PB nothing happens, the screen lights up, but the battery is not charging. I think the problem is not because of not enough amps, it's more than original wall charger. But I have no idea what's the problem... Is it too much amps and PB, instead of using just what's needed, will just disconnect the charger at all?
My Lumia 950 doesn't charge well on the CR-201 in car charger. It connects and disconnects every 10 seconds or so, making usual chime, when it connects with monotonous regularity. That's makes a nuisance when bluetooth streaming as the chimes stream too. Flicking to ringer off stops that though.
It charges fine using the DT-910 desk standing charger. So I don't think it's a case issue, though I have a Mozo case on order.
Today I received 2 Nokia wireless charger as part of the free charger with the new Lumia 920 on AT&T. When I tried to charge my phone it worked just fine, but when I tried to charge my wife phone it didn't charge, her was in battery save mode so I tried charging it with the usb cable until it got out of battery save mode and tried again with no luck.
I tried in both wireless charger devices both phones and had the same result, my phone charged and my wife's didn't. The light in the charger device does light up with no blinking hinting that the phone is charging but there's no notification on the phone side (no sound, battery icon don't change, battery keeps dropping).
The other difference between the two phones is that her's is high gloss red and mine is matte black.
About two weeks ago the phone died when the battery ran flat and when I tried to charge it with the original charger it wouldn't charge, so I connected it to the pc and after several hours it started charging again. The only problem is that it only charges at a very slow rate now, both via pc and via wall charger(Original 1.8A and even a 2.4A one), by slow rate I mean it takes around 30 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.
Having said that, the phone only seems to charge when it is first switched off. When I plug the phone to charger it does not detect it unless i first switch it off and only then it detects it and start charging. If i switch it back on when the charger is attached it still shows me that is charging but if I receive a message or two the battery starts draining all the same. I tried to change chargers/chords and i also did a factory reset and it didn't work.
I now bought a new battery and it still didn't solve the problem. What I am suspecting is that the phone is stuck in slow charging mode that prevents fast charging when the battery is completely flat. Also if I try connecting the phone to the pc via usb, although it charges(after switching it off), the pc does not detect it.
My phone is works fine with no issues, Games running smooth but when charging the charger gets hot (the phone not) , btw is that normal that my phone gets charged fast? (2 hours and It's almost full battery)
I was at a buddies house lastnight, and tried charging my phone through an iphone cube charger that was connected to ausb cable but when i woke up today my phone was completely dead. I tried putting in another battery that had half a charge, but still nothing happened.
When I connected my lightning cable in my phone, suddenly the cable heated and immediately I took it off from the phone, the phone was working properly and it had about 8% charge. I left it for about 48 hours as I didn’t have the cable, It's had no power for some days since I lost my lightning cable - it's basically completely out of power. I've charged it once in the last week with a certified Apple lightning cable, but now it no longer responds to any cables at all.  I've tried with two different cables (neither are certified Apple cables, but both work well with their owner's iPhones) and the phone does not respond at all. I've tried charging through my computer and using a wall socket, but the phone does nothing, even after it's been plugged-in for more than 2 hours.
I hold a Nokia Lumia 800 phone. When I try to charge my phone using the electric/wall charger, the phone indicates that it is getting charged, however it isn't! The Diagnostics application confirms this. The phone does charge fine through my laptop.
I took my phone to the Nokia Care Centre and they replaced the charger. However, the problem still persists and Nokia Care now is completely clueless on what to do next.
My xperia z2 isn't charging either by the original charger or by computer usb, a message keeps showing that the battery is discharging faster than it charges, what to do ?
I bought an ORIGINAL CHARGER yesterday. I drained my battery first before using the ORIGINAL SONY CHARGER. But I woke up this morning, I saw 80% only on its screen but when I turned on and charge again, the battery reaches until 90%-91% and then when I keep on charging, the percent result declined to 88%. I want to see that 100% ....
i am trying to charge my blackberry 9300 via a freeloader solar charger but my blackberry comes up with a message saying it cant charge my solar charger, the opposite to what i require,
Finally recieved my miro sim card this morning. Called up my service provider (O2) to activate it and was told to insert the sim then turn the handset off for half an hour then when I turned it on again it would be activated.I waited for half an hour and then tried to turn the phone on nothing happened..Tried several times and then connected it to the charger to see if the battery had miraculously lost all it's charge whilst switched off! Nothin, no LED's nothing to suggest any life in the phone at all.I am unsure if I will accpet a replacement or weather I will swap to a Nexus, I like the Razr but this is a pretty poor start to my life with a Motorola!
