View 5 Replies View RelatedThe adaptive fast charger that came with my phone works well with my galaxy s6. Fast charging works well and I can get up to 50% charge in about 25 mins. But the problem is it doesn't charge any other phone apart from galaxy s6. If I plug my htc one or lg g3 or any other phone (even blackberry), it will indicate its charging but won't add any juice. I've tried charging other phones for up to 30 mins, rather than charging the battery % will either stay where it is or sometimes drain. It can't even charge simple things like a modem or even a ps4 controller. I once plugged a ps4 controller and the charging light indicated, but to my surprise after 1 hour of charging it still was not able to add one bar to the battery. In fact if I plug a phone with 2% battery , after 20 mins of charging the phone dies.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night I used the official Samsung wireless charger to charge my phone overnight. The battery graph shows it reached 100% at 2am, but then dropped back down to 92% when I picked it up in the morning.The highest battery usage app was "Connection Optimizer" with 2% usage which doesn't seem like a lot. I've disabled it under the "Mobile Networks" setting so we'll see if that works. But somehow I doubt that was causing the drain.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe charger port was having problems and wasn't charging, so I changed the charger flex following online instructions. I am 99% sure I did it correctly as it all works now, but the Galaxy S2 won't recognise my ThreeUK Sim anymore. It recognises others such as orange and t-mobile (It's Unlocked with Root). I put the old charger flex cable back in and it's working with my ThreeUK sim but it won't charge again so I want to know, does the charger flex cable change what sim cards it can read etc? I don't want to order cable to fix my phone before I know what to look for in it in case that has the same problems as the one I've ordered.

When I plugin the phone to charge it shows a red light and no matter how many hours I charge it the same thing happens. and when I try to switch on the phone it doesnt start.

This annoying issue just started in the last few days. I use wireless charging almost exclusively including in the car. Once the phone is completely charged it cycles between charging and not charging. Every time it starts charging again it wakes the screen up and does the charging started notification which means a I get a notification sound about every minute or so.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs of this morning, my phone no longer charges using the supplied Samsung charger. Additionally, when I UNPLUG the cable from my computer or the wall, I receive a notification saying "The dock is connected" which is obviously odd as I have actually just disconnected the cabling. Along with this message, the docking audible is heard when plugging in the charger on either the computer or the wall.
When I plug into my computer, the phone is no longer recognized as a USB device either which makes it difficult to back anything up at this point.
I do not have the lighting bolt or any blinking LED's while the charging cable is plugged in.
So far I have done the following to troubleshoot
- tried different cable on both the computer and wall
- power cycled the phone multiple times
- checked for system updates. I am up to date.
- cleaned / blown out the charging port
- cleared system cache
I have not yet done a factory reset for obvious (last resort) reasons.
I bought a S2 for my son, now after 11 months the phone won't charge up and gets warm if we leave the charger on.I have another S2 myself and I swapped the battery and charger from mine to my sons and it still would not work.
With it been under 12 months I took it bak to the Orange shop who then sent it to Samsung who then had it for 2 weeks and then said it had water damage and they wont repair it. (My son later admitted he takes his phone into the bathroom and listens to music while having a shower )Taking this on the chin I then took it to a local repair shop who said its the UME - Universal Power Manager that has gone. They have tried to get hold of the part but according to them Samsung dont do this part.
I had a search and couldn't really find anything pertinent to this, but apologies if I've missed anything glaringly obvious!I know people used to say you should initially charge a new mobile phone for at least 12 hours. This always seemed ludicrous to me - surely the charging circuitry stops charging once the battery is at 100%
Some people suggest that the newer phones have different types of batteries that are less susceptible to the memory effect. Is this the case?Anyway, what would you suggest for an initial charge? I've had my SGS2 on charge for nearly 5 hours now. Is this enough, or should I give it longer?And what's the best practice for charging in general? Allow it to fully discharge every time? Is it bad to put it on charge before you go to sleep every night?

Super annoying. Is it the phone or just need of a new battery.

I have to switch off the phone which sometimes reboots when I do this, then it starts charging. I use advance task killer to shut as many apps down as possible but the battery still drains fast. I havent installed anything new for a while. I have looked at the tips on batterys forum but still cant find the problem.

They both have a charge light that stays on when charging and goes off when charging is complete. I've notice that with the Icon the light never goes out when the phone is fully charged. When I charge my 822 the light goes out when it's fully charged.

I went to call my friend so I picked up my phone and the red light that says its charging was still on and the screen wouldn't turn on. If I turn my phone off and want to turn it back on I cannot regardless of the battery level of the phone. I keep getting the exclamation mark start screen whenever I try after turning my phone off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my phone today. The phone was working at the T-mobile store out of the box with the limited battery charge the phones ship with. I came home did some stuff .. and the battery was running low. It warned me so I went to plug it into my computer and continued using it. It said it was charging. After a short amount of time the screen powered down and flashed a grey battery logo with a white loading symbol and powered off again and back on doing the same thing.
After this ... the phone would no longer power on even though I left it connected via USB to the laptop. Kind of pissing me off since the phone is brand new. Can I resolve this or is the phone defective?
Bought an S5 off an amazon retailer about a month ago and it charges via it's usb cable through any computer or such like device, yet it won't charge via any usb plug adapter. I have tried usb 3.0 and 2.0 samsung official adapters, apple, 'universal' adapters etc with no luck at all.
I tried a factory reset, turned on usb debugging, all except sending it off to samsung.
