As a new owner of an S2, I am still coming to terms with the short battery life - my old 'clockwork' Nokia would last about 7 days.What is the best 'charging regime' to adopt? Do I wait each time until the phone tells me to recharge it, or is it OK to 'top it up' when it gets to 30% and I am going out somewhere? Will charging up a part-discharged battery eventually damage it?

I went to call my friend so I picked up my phone and the red light that says its charging was still on and the screen wouldn't turn on. I already tried to restart it using the power and -volume button, I even called tech support and all of their suggestions failed! I usually charge it overnight and it's fine in the morning.

It isn't charging during that time, and when I unplug the charger the phone automatically turns on. I'm using the original Samsung charger.

If I turn my phone off and want to turn it back on I cannot regardless of the battery level of the phone. I keep getting the exclamation mark start screen whenever I try after turning my phone off.

Yesterday i was travelling in my car and while it was on charge it kept comeing up with a strange screen with a blue background and the time on and date a the standard icons at the bottom of the screen and in the top left corner it had (accuweather.com) and in the opposite corner it was a square button to go back in to the normal home screen, i tried it again today and it came on again for about 10 seconds and went off again?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my phone today. The phone was working at the T-mobile store out of the box with the limited battery charge the phones ship with. I came home did some stuff .. and the battery was running low. It warned me so I went to plug it into my computer and continued using it. It said it was charging. After a short amount of time the screen powered down and flashed a grey battery logo with a white loading symbol and powered off again and back on doing the same thing.
After this ... the phone would no longer power on even though I left it connected via USB to the laptop. Kind of pissing me off since the phone is brand new. Can I resolve this or is the phone defective?
I've just received my Galaxy S2, the first android phone I've ever owned. I've been advised to charge the battery for several hours the first time. When I plugged in the battery charger the battery charging icon appears for about 1 minute and then the screen goes completely dead when the charger is plugged in! Every phone I've had since the mid 90s constantly shows a battery symbol charging throughout the charging process.Is there something wrong with my phone or charger or does the Galaxy S2 not show anything on the screen when charging up?

I bought another S2 for my wife, and she put this on charge in the bedroom but after a few seconds of putting on charge the charge stopped and it said 'Battery Disconnected'. Tried with my charge which was plugged in and worked OK with mine and it said the same. Tried the charger in a different plug socket in another room and the phone didn't show the message and charged ok overnight. My phone charges OK from the bedroom, but the other doesn't, but it charges ok elsewhere so it can't be any issue with the plug sockets.

*My phone is not rooted.
*I have not messed with any modifications.
*My phone's automatic update is turned off. (I haven't update since 4.42.)
*I've already erased the cache in recovery mode.
*I don't have a back-up.
My phone had died because the battery life ran out. I charged it fully and unplugged it. I kept it off for a little while, and when I turned it on it booted normally to the start-up screen, blinked off and restarted back to the screen; it remained stuck there. I can power off and enter recovery mode, but I can't power off. The charge logo appears when I plug it up, but it stays there with an empty power logo even after I unplug it. I have to always take out the battery to turn it off. What did I do wrong, and I can I fix it without having to wipe out documents? (I have a lot of writing documents).
I have been using my samsung galaxy pretty heavily being as i just got it a week ago. I have noticed with heavy use it does not last me a whole day. Yesterday i let the battery drain all the way out so that i could completely cycle through. It ended up takeing a little over 3 hours to fully charge again. Was curious how many hrs of usage other people are averageing and how many hrs of charge time?

However, when I use the Fast Charging cord that was boxed with my GS6, it seems to charge to 100% at lightning speed, but then seems to lose power 5 times faster the next day. I may barely use my phone for <10 minutes during the day, and it is down to 10% by 5pm! So, fast charging = faster battery loss? I'm not seeing an upside to the Fast Charging, at all.

After about 2 hours when I went to check the phone it had on the display the charging display but it was locked and would not disappear at all. I had to take out the battery for a minute and put it back in. Then when you place it back on charge it continues where it left off at. Is this a problem with this phone? Is there something that can be done.

On the canadian site which i have all my other samsung products registered, there is no listing for my model number (GT-I9250TSDTLS (this is whats on the box, phone menu just lists my model as Samsung Galaxy Nexus, though the label under that battery shows GT-I9250M as the model number..how am I supposed to register my phone?[URL]..shows that galaxy owners can get a free copy of angry birds space... how do I get that?
Word on the street is that there may be a refreshed Samsung Galaxy Nexus coming. I wasrReading over at Android and Me and this thread caught my attention:The rumors state that there is going to be a refreshed camera. Possibly along the way of 8.0MP. On top of that, the processors are scheduled to be refreshed using The faster SGX544 GPU is included with Texas Instruments upcoming OMAP4470 processor. This is the successor to the original OMAP4460 found in the Galaxy Nexus, that includes the older SGX540 GPU.With the Sprint version of the Galaxy Nexus coming soon we'll have to wait and see if they are in fact getting a refreshed model or the LTE based model that Verizon has currently, Either way, I hope they do launch a refresh on the HSPA+ line as well. I use the Galaxy Nexus and while I love the phone, I wish the camera was better. Faster is always better as well so I'll take the processor bump.

I just purchase my sg2 phone yesterday. Unfortunately, my brother has used my phone last night and register the Samsung account in it by using his email or id. When I tried to change the account, it cannot be done cause I have to do the factory reset in privacy setting (which will erase all my personal info and downloaded applications). I don't want that to happen as well. Plus, my my brother can't even remember what the password he has used for the Samsung account I'm very pissed off now that my Samsung account belong to him and the fact that I can't do the factory reset because of him. I'll mention again, he forgot the password he used for MY SAMSUNG ACCOUNT IN MY SG2.

Is there a way to have it off while charging while not turning it off completely and having to click the side button every time a notification pops up? I brought a Samsung wireless charger. The first few days, it worked flawlessly, but today when putting the phone on at 27%, when it hit around 85-90%, it started saying "Wireless charging have stopped" even tho it still charges. It's annoying, cause the screen light up, it vibrates and I get notification about it, but it starts charging right after?
Do you think this is a phone or wireless charger problem? Also, will this hurt my battery in any way? I mean if I leave it overnight, would it hurt the battery that the battery start charging, stopping again and then start again? This is around every sec or so.
