View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some strange reason my phone wont charge it off and when it is off it flashes on and off with the lightning and battery size to charge meaning it takes forever to charge. 5 hours of charge off and its only on 50% and then the battery dies within 2 hours when switched back on. Super annoying. Is it the phone or just need of a new battery.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the last few days my phone battery only lasts 8 hours without hardly any use. When I plug the charger in, nothing happens. I have to switch off the phone which sometimes reboots when I do this, then it starts charging. I use advance task killer to shut as many apps down as possible but the battery still drains fast. I havent installed anything new for a while. I have looked at the tips on batterys forum but still cant find the problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBought an S5 off an amazon retailer about a month ago and it charges via it's usb cable through any computer or such like device, yet it won't charge via any usb plug adapter. I have tried usb 3.0 and 2.0 samsung official adapters, apple, 'universal' adapters etc with no luck at all.
I tried a factory reset, turned on usb debugging, all except sending it off to samsung.
As to extend and maintain good battery life
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I've recently been having a few problems with my phone...
1) I've been charging the phone for about 18 hours now and it's only gotten to 75% (My battery app has an estimate of 1 day and 2 hours to reach 100%).
2) The wifi on the phone is very slow (about 3 mbps when my internet plan has a max of 30 mbps).
For the charging problem I've tried resets, other android chargers, and hooking the charger to a reliable wall outlet but none have worked so far. For the wifi, it looks like the phone works fine with other wifi signals except my home one although my roommate's phone works at home as well.
I purchased the Z3+ yesterday and when starting a first charge (30mins as advised in the setup guide) the battery began at 32% charge, i left it for 30 mins and it only got to 38%. It took a good 1hour + for a full 100% charge.
I've now recharged again today and its taken 3hours for a full 100% charge from 0%, is this correct?? I have read it can take 45mins for a full charge.
Why does this expensive phone have to send long sms via mms?? I have an old 10 phone which can do this, it just chops them into chunks and then send it out. My mates who have iphones can send long sms's.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen sending a long text SMS message it seems to reach a character limit then switch automatically to a MMS media message instead. I have unlimited texts but only 20 media messages per month. Is there any way to stop this happening so I can use texts only and save my media messages?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my current SII (before the ics upgrade & after) whenever sending an SMS text message over a certain length, the message "converting to multimedia message" appears. This did not happen with with my previous SII. It is mildly annoying.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a SGS2 that is one year old, I still use gingerbred 2.3.3, and I haven't attempted anything special prior to getting the problem. I first noticed I had a problem when I booted my phone yesterday: booting took much more time than it use too, but then it worked. After entering my password, I got access to the usual page, but then, pop-ups appeared one after the other saying: "Sorry, need to close the application "name it". Thanks for trying again" (don't know what's the precise wording in english because mine is in an other language... still, you get the picture). The phone still works for calling, SMS and a bunch of apps... but applications like facebook, twitter, lookout, dropbox and a few games won't boot anymore.
Other things I noticed:
- I lost a few apps (at least 2) that disappeared completely from the phone
- I can't erase the cache when accessing settings/storage. Also, it won't recognize the SD Card space availability in the storage section. However, when looking at it by accessing settings/applications/memory usage, I can see what are the apps on my SD card.
- There is no correlation between the apps that have problems and the ones found on the internal SD memory card.
- Over the past month, my phone would sometime reboot after being closed. Didn't happen frequently, but I read this could be linked to the USB port? Anyway, just saying it here while I'm typing something.
- Finally, I have the feeling the OS version is not the one i had previously (downgraded?) because several apps asked to be updated after rebooting the phone a few times. Just I feeling because if i changed the OS for an upgrade, it was over 10 months ago.
So that's it. I already tried booting with the three buttons trick to erase the cache in basic mode: didn't changed a thing.
Galaxy s2 on Orange UK - 2.3.5, BVKJ4.Why when i send or recieve a picture message does it turn it into a video and play the "still" image for 5 seconds? When i send a long text message it converts the message to a "slideshow" and some people moan that they cannot even view it when its sent them?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a S2 for my son, now after 11 months the phone won't charge up and gets warm if we leave the charger on.I have another S2 myself and I swapped the battery and charger from mine to my sons and it still would not work.
With it been under 12 months I took it bak to the Orange shop who then sent it to Samsung who then had it for 2 weeks and then said it had water damage and they wont repair it. (My son later admitted he takes his phone into the bathroom and listens to music while having a shower )Taking this on the chin I then took it to a local repair shop who said its the UME - Universal Power Manager that has gone. They have tried to get hold of the part but according to them Samsung dont do this part.
I had a search and couldn't really find anything pertinent to this, but apologies if I've missed anything glaringly obvious!I know people used to say you should initially charge a new mobile phone for at least 12 hours. This always seemed ludicrous to me - surely the charging circuitry stops charging once the battery is at 100%
Some people suggest that the newer phones have different types of batteries that are less susceptible to the memory effect. Is this the case?Anyway, what would you suggest for an initial charge? I've had my SGS2 on charge for nearly 5 hours now. Is this enough, or should I give it longer? And what's the best practice for charging in general? Allow it to fully discharge every time? Is it bad to put it on charge before you go to sleep every night?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Curve (6 weeks) and I am having problems with the battery charge. I have already changed it once via Bell Mobility. Here is an example of what I mean. My phone was fully charged at13:00. I turned the wi-fi, the network, and the bluetooth off. I made no calls. We are now 16:30. My battery is at 70%. This does not seem normal. Can someone offer a solution other than Bell Mobility (lousy service) and Blackberry (even lousier service) Is it possible that that the replacement battery given to me by Bell was another dud?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI think that USB charging is really slow. Yesterday, it took more than 6 hours to fully charge my HTC One. Charging via A/C is much faster, but I wouldn't expect that big difference.

I just bought my Xperia Ray last weekend, so it has not been a week yet. I have no issues about its performance. This is my first Android phone, so I am wondering about this. How long should it take to fully charge my phone? When I connect it to its socket charger, it only takes an hour or so. Likewise, through my computer, it only takes an hour. Is that normal, or should I be worried about it?
