View 9 RepliesHad a problem since I upgraded to 5.1.1 on my S6 Edge every time I get a text and I don't check it. I keep getting a notification sound about every minute. I know I saw an option to just have it notify you once and that was it, but am unable to find that option now.

My co-worker asked me to fix her Galaxy S5 because I have the same phone, but I can't figure it out.
The display dims after 12 seconds and shuts off 3 seconds later.
I've turned off power saving features and even changed the time out to 10 minutes and no luck.
I tried turning on smart stay, but that got me to about 30 seconds and no farther.
My S2 in the last 2 days has suddenly turned off while in my pocket. It's happens sometimes, Once, Twice a month.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use Podkicker and have never had an issue with past phones. I download casts. I don't stream them. Everything usually works fine. However, I have noticed that when wifi is toggled off, I get on and off crackling through the speaker. Strangely, when I turn the screen on it plays clearly but as soon as the screen shuts off it crackles again. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling to no avail. Should clearing the partition have any effect or is this possibly a hardware issue? Maybe the speaker is not getting enough power unless the screen or wifi is turned on? This is really annoying, especially while driving when I don't want my wifi scanning and I don't want to keep powering on the screen. I would hate to have to send the phone in for this. I would also hate to try a factory reset.
View 3 Replies View RelatedNever noticed this before so im not sure if its normal, but noticed today when i for example shut off a video or i activate the speaker with any other sound, the speaker stays on for 1-2 secs making sort of a hissing sound followed by a small click. Its not a very loud hissing sound. Just wanna make sure its normal and not a faulty speaker.
View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery so often, the keyboard will just close while typing for a few seconds. It disappears completely.
I was using "Swype" and thought it was a problem with that, but after switching keyboards and re-installing them, I realized it's a universal issue. This especially happens in Whatsapp, but I spend 95% of typing time there, so I can't say fairly.
I have been experiencing random shut off from my samsung galaxy s2 g version i9100G model. For your information, i did not root or used any custom rom. And my phone is on 2.3.6 android version.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAny ideas as to what I'm doing wrong here? Sometimes (about 1 day a week), I'll set my alarm, but it will not go off. When I look at the phone, it'll have the pop-up indicator thing saying "DISMISS" or "off" (can't remember exactly what it says), that indicates that the alarm was triggered, but it doesn't actually make the alarm sound.Any ideas why this may be happening? I am 100% sure the alarm is set to the right time, and the AM/PM is correct, and the phone is not on "Silent", but the alarm won't actually ring? It doesn't do it all the time, but maybe only once every 7-10 times I set the alarm, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. This is a big problem for me because I don't have a regular alarm clock, and I use it to wake me up for work. Twice this month I have been late for work because my alarm didn't go off.Can anyone out there possibly help me diagnose this problem? I think my boss thinks that I'm lying to him when I tell him my alarm doesn't go off, and it's really becoming a problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems on Nokia E71, the alarm settings are lost when an alarm is activated while the mobile is turned off.The sequence which i followed was.# set an alarm with time = current time + 5 mins# switched off the mobile# When the alarm time reaches the alarm goes on and asks "if we want to turn on the phone"; select 'no'.[My opinion is that at this stage it should just inform the user that the phone is switched off, rather than giving an option to turn on the phone.]# turn on the phone and go to Menu_office_clock and check the previous alarm settings. All of them would be deleted. I saw the same error in E72 and E63.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLumia 900 failed to wake me up this morning. The alarm just did not sound at all.
- Alarm was set and was shown to be in use. Even the Icon in the start screen was shown
- Tried multiple times afterwards setting the existing alarm a few minutes forward. None of the attempts alarmed.
How I set the alarm is that I always edit the existing alarm, edit the time and push the alarm on.When I tried creating a new alarm (a few minutes forward), that ringed ok. But the existing alarm failed to ring
Having issue with the alarm clock not staying on the alarm they choose. Today is the second time I chose an alarm and it didn't go off because the phone had a different alarm set.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T Galaxy S6 Edge on 5.1.1.
A couple of weeks ago I slept through my alarm, at least that's what I thought had happened. When I woke up some time later, there was a notification that I had missed an alarm. It seemed strange, since I've never not been woken by the sound of an alarm before.
The alarm worked fine for the six months before that, and has been working fine for the last few weeks.
Today I was awake before my alarm went off. I then watched my phone screen light up with the alarm, but no sound. I turned off the alarm and waited for my backup alarm. Same thing - no sound.
I did not have Do Not Disturb mode turned on. I almost always keep my phone on silent, and the alarm has always worked. I'm using the default Samsung clock/alarm app.
If it's as simple as using a different alarm app, that's an easy fix, although it doesn't leave me with much faith in Samsung. My concern is that it's a system issue. Unfortunately since it seems to be a sporadic issue, testing the alarm isn't going to tell me definitively if I've been able to fix the issue. Unless I can identify exactly what is causing the problem, I'm going to have to buy a dedicated alarm clock because I can't risk missing an alarm again.
One thing I have just noticed is that setting the phone on Silent Mode using the Mute toggle in the Notification bar, (see screenshots), now allows the Alarm to sound as usual.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe alarm does not sound on my s5.
It's the generic clock.
It works if I set an alarm one minute away but normal work alarm does not.
I've tried deleting data and cache but no luck.
so I switched from an iPhone to a galaxy s5 about a week ago, and on my iPhone when I had an alarm set and I was on the phone it would go off normally. that doesn't happen with my galaxy, it just like makes a loud beep and that's all.

View 11 Replies View RelatedThe first time I tried to use it it did work (unfortunately I couldn't see how to turn it off and turned the entire phone off to stop the alarm). Since then after playing around with it quite a bit and a visit to the shop I just can't get the alarm to work. I can't see anything is turned off or down.

View 4 Replies View RelatedCame from the s4, and the alarm app had a lot of different amounts of snooze duration and number allowed. This app on the s6 has only one 5 minute Snooze option. I know I'm probably being lazy but I would like to change it if I wanted.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am on a Galaxy S5, in the UK on EE. Running Lollipop 5.0 but with a new update that has fixed the no silent mode issue. I have just tried to set a reminder using Google Now with my voice, which has always worked before, except now the reminder sets my clock alarm instead of storing it in Google Now in the usual way! I've checked that the Clock app hasn't been set as default etc.... but to no avail.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from the S3 to the S5. It seems that the alarm volume and the ringtone volume are directly linked. As in, if my ringtone is set to mute, my alarm wont sound.
I haven't been able to figure out a way to bypass this. I'd like to have my alarm sound even when the ringtone is set to mute or vibrate.
First time using android and i am struggling with the basics.
One of the things is: How do i change the volume on the s5 alarm clock? It is EXTREMELY load.
My Samsung S5 keeps producing weird sounds every now and then (notifications of some kind, probably). I want to shut it.

Every time I set an alarm, it goes off, but complelty silent. I keep my phone on mute at night because I don't want to hear anything. But the Alarm, used to go off even though on mute. Here what I've done so far.
Settings > Sound and Notification> Application Notifications > Clock > Priority (Set to On)
Settings > Sound and Notification> Application Notifications > Interruptions
Sound Mode = Mute
Set priority interruption period: Here, I selected every day, and start time of 12:00AM and a End time of 11:59PM.
I thought these settings would cover me, but the Alarm still, does not sound. How to get the Alarm working when the phone is set on Mute Mode?
My boyfriend has the S4 and his alarm shows up on his lock screen, but mine doesn't, and I would like it to. Is there a way to get this or was it phased out?
