What is the correct procedure in removing my phone from my pc after using the Ovi suite as there is no eject device option & the Safely remove option from my pc is also not available.

I normally see the icon and I safely remove external storage. When I have the Xoom connected, I do not see this icon and I have to
simply unplug the usb from my PC. Am I doing something wrong, or is this my only option?
I use the latest version of OVI Suite with my new laptop with OS W7 Home Premium. Two are the problems I get: 1) When I plug my 5800 XM via USB cable and do any operation I have to do using OVI Suite, the "safely remove hardware " icon in the taskbar doesn't show up, as a result, in order to unplug safely the phone, I shutdown my laptop and unplug the phone. 2) Now, every time I follow the procedure in point 1, when I restart my laptop, the icons in the desktop mess up, and one of them ends up in the taskbar over-imposing the skype icon This behaviour occurs only when I connect my Nokia phone, otherwise the laptop is brand new and doesn't show any other problem with any other program.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo what might be the problem, when trying start my phone, without usb cable, it goes on, but after 30 sec or so my phone try reboot itself and this loop continues over and over again.
Only way to start the phone that it will stay on, is using usb-cable connected to pc. When doing so, it start normally without crashing everytime. There is also problem with camera and flash. Both things don't work. Flash not even try start but when pushing the camera solution, it will try to start, but after a second it crashes.
Judging from the symptoms I think that there my might be some problem with starting procedures when phone is turned on. The phone maybe trying to check something like camera or flash and crashes doing so. But why this not happen when I have connected my phone with usb to pc? Why this way I can start my phone normally and start using it. I just have avoid to shut it again!
I have an E75. Is there a way on any of the E-series phones to see what frequency you are connected to?
View 1 Replies View Relatedevery time I plug the USB battery charger (nokia standard model), or when I connect E52 to my PC the phone goes in locked state and ask for the security/lock code to unlock it.I know it because it's the default 12345 and after pressing OK the phone continues to work, but if I disconnect USB and connect it again, it goes again to clocked state (like doing it with the power button). firmware is 71.004I have this problem sice some months, but I'm not sure when it started ... may be the last firmware upgrade ? Or the last reset of the phone ....

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my e72 since February, but I only just finally got around to downloading ovi suite on my PC. installation was fine, then it came to the part where it says to connect the phone, so I did that, but nothing happened. the thing on the PC said that I should select 'ovi suite' or 'PC suite' when it appears on the phone, but the home screen was blank. i've tried connecting it many times and still nothing. the phone lights up when i connect it to the computer, but it doesn't prompt me for the connection mode. i've checked the settings (currently on usb conn. mode: PC suite / ask on conn.: yes) but it's not asking me on connection, nor is there any indication on the ovi suite program that it is connected.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter establishing connection to PC running on Windows 7 via micro usb cable, there is a problem with keeping internet connection alive.The connection should work because the icon on the phones display shows that the phone is connected to the internet, but the connection seems to be lost somewhere between mobile device and PC (not mobile device and mobile network) although the phone is fully capable to transfer other data via cable between computer and phone, this is the same when connection is created via PC Suite or Ovi suite, or manually established connection using the mobile as a modem.The internet access is possible only after every new connections which works always randomly f.e. it fails/stops transferring data from/to internet after few seconds/minutes or transferred amount of data, it is always different.Windows diagnoses this problem as a problem with DNS server.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince updating my E71 to v500, and then to v510 just recently, I have been suffering from terrible battery life when the phone is connected to a WiFi access point. I'm sure it's not a hardware problem, as I noticed it as soon as I first updated to v500. If I leave the E71 connected to WiFi, my battery will be flat in just a couple of hours and the phone is noticeably hot to the touch. I initially thought it may be the battery being a problem, so I bought a new one but still exactly the same.
On another point, the Podcasting application is now terribly slow. I wish I would have never updated from V300, which was fine. I've tried reinstalling the F/W a few times, and not restoring from a backup, but still the same problem. I also read in another thread that someone deleted the Lotus Notes application, and it fixed this problem, but alas, has not done so for me.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just updated to the 500.21.009 firmware on my Nokia E63 and now I am regretting that I made the switch.I think this version of the firmware is not stable at all.
The first question is: How do I remove the annoying Lotus Notes Traveler? Uninstalling it doesn't work. I have read the solution is to use YBrowser, but I don't want to pay for using this software, nor do I want to use an untrusted application on my phone. Let's just say that I am paranoid about such things.
What is the next best solution to remove this? I really can't understand why Nokia is forcing this software on its users. Seriously. Not everyone uses Lotus Notes. And if you want to force it, why not provide an easy way to remove it?
I've tried doing a hard reset but I can't seem to get rid of the T-Mobile branding rubbish from my E72. Things like the T-Mobile welcome animation when you switch it on and their horrible pink theme. (I can change the theme but I want to be rid of it...) I would also like the web browser to take notice of the home page I've set - at the moment it goes to T-Mobile's web offering no matter what I set it to.

The replacement phone has Belle installed, which is the most un-useable piece of software I have seen in a fair while. It is far less useful for business than Anna was, and I need to remove it and step back to Anna, if only because I used to be able to have 4 email inboxes on my front screen as well as the time, profile, date AND notifications area... now this takes three home screens to achieve which is completely useless.
