Eseries / Communicators :: Company E71 Models Downloading Inline Images In Exchange?
Feb 17, 2011Our company purchased 12 Nokia E71 phones and they are using exchange for e-mails. What is happening is that our new company e-mail signature now includes our logo, our group logo and 6 small boxes which are hyperlinked to redirect back to our corporate site when clicked on. I have brought the overall signature as far down as 120kbs which is fine for a desktop email client, but when staff are using their phone to open up an internal e-mail which contains the signature, the phone hangs for about 1min with a progress bar that simply states "opening". This is a concern for the company as it would mean higher data charges for field users.
I assumed that the phone only read e-mails in plain text, but appears to be downloading the whole message (I think). When I open the test email and see the message details on the phone...the Nokia says 24kb. am I right in thinking that the phone is not in fact downloading the full message but only the text portion which is 24kb's??

Sep 25, 2011My problem is that my new Nokia E5 has a problem with viewing videos. The problem is that the video which I would like to view has audio but no visuals. This only happens to the mp4 format videos i transfered from my computer onto my phone. Other videos such as camera filmed works normally yet the problem persists for ones that I transfer from computer over. I've compressed the video files using the Nokia Video Converter Factory Pro program, yet it still doesn't seem to work.

Sep 1, 2010I just updated to the 500.21.009 firmware on my Nokia E63 and now I am regretting that I made the switch.I think this version of the firmware is not stable at all.
The first question is: How do I remove the annoying Lotus Notes Traveler? Uninstalling it doesn't work. I have read the solution is to use YBrowser, but I don't want to pay for using this software, nor do I want to use an untrusted application on my phone. Let's just say that I am paranoid about such things.
What is the next best solution to remove this? I really can't understand why Nokia is forcing this software on its users. Seriously. Not everyone uses Lotus Notes. And if you want to force it, why not provide an easy way to remove it?

Feb 17, 2010I've tried doing a hard reset but I can't seem to get rid of the T-Mobile branding rubbish from my E72. Things like the T-Mobile welcome animation when you switch it on and their horrible pink theme. (I can change the theme but I want to be rid of it...) I would also like the web browser to take notice of the home page I've set - at the moment it goes to T-Mobile's web offering no matter what I set it to.

The replacement phone has Belle installed, which is the most un-useable piece of software I have seen in a fair while. It is far less useful for business than Anna was, and I need to remove it and step back to Anna, if only because I used to be able to have 4 email inboxes on my front screen as well as the time, profile, date AND notifications area... now this takes three home screens to achieve which is completely useless.
Short of binning the phone and returning to an E90 (beginning to wish I'd never moved away from it) how can I make my E7 useable again?

Jul 20, 2012I have a nokia E5 phone which I use as just a Mail for Exchange Checker/ Bicycle GPS/Internet and general all around disposable phone.For a $40 phone it is just fantastic! It does so much for so little. I just wish nokia made their phones more apps friendly.My E5 does not have a mobile carrier phone plan since I have another phone that does that. This E5 is set up as a rough duty phone for the phone features such as sports tracker.
For the phone to work with WIFI with Mail for Exchange's auto email retreival, (since I don't have data since my phone has no service) I had to get an old expired sim card from another phone. (won't auto retreive with phone in offline mode)But the phone always displays "Sim card registration failed" and I have to click out of it constantly. Is there a way to remove that notification? I already know that it failed. It's an expired card just to get the phone to work in General mode.
