Eseries / Communicators :: E72: Date/time Reset After Keeping Off Battery?
Apr 5, 2010
My E72 ask me to input date end time when restarting after keeping off the battery, even for just a second! It seemed to me that this didn't happen before.

There are three E7's in my company, two of which have now experienced odd time & date changes. First it was only one, with a Firmware version of 13.something, repeating every now and then. Now also my E7 (firmware 014.002) did the same, the time and date changing today afernoon to be March 1st, 2011 at 15:20, even though in reality it is May 26th, 2011 at 17:58.
Oddly enough, the firmware date is 2011-03-01. Does the phone somehow resort to the time of the firmware release?
I got a Nokia Lumia 1520 last week. Coming from an HTC One (M7), I am still impressed with the smoothness of Windows Phone OS -rarely I get any loading for an app. Moreover Metro has come a long way since the days of ZuneHD.
However I got a slight problem with the date/ time. Both the date and time gets reset back to 20 July 2013, 03:00 after the battery runs out or I try a soft reset.I already tried:
1) Setting the time on manual; it will reset back to manual time and the date/time above. 2) Setting the time on automatic, will still get reset back to manual and the wrong date/time. 3) Instead of setting the phone on 4G, I used the 3G and automatic. Same as above. 4) Setting the date manually and then to automatic, keeps the date/time I setup manually. 5) Turning the device off and on again (not soft reset with the volume key) will keep the date/ time regardless if it was set manually or manually and then automatically.
I updated my firmware to 071.004 and my talk time is reset to "0". Previously I had like 64h of total talk time. How can I restore it? I do have nbu backup file, but I can't restore it
With Marshmallow I'm seeing significant battery drain from keeping my Bluetooth on all the time. My phone occasionally connects to my FitBit (manual sync only) and my car.
Keeping Bluetooth on with Lollipop never seemed to be a problem, but now Bluetooth is often above even the screen when it comes to battery usage. Reboots and cache clears don't seem to make a difference. I'm OK turning Bluetooth off but I always forget to do so and then there goes my battery.
Why every time when i turm on my phone , ask me to enter date and time? .. whitout take off the battery?! its annoying. plus, i need the alarm and its not working if always get reset.
Late last night my wife and I, who both have iPhone 5s, discover that our time and date were both way off. We toggled the auto update on and off a few times and eventually it reset. This morning it is incorrect again. We both turned the auto update off and set the calendar and time manually and it eventually went back to the incorrect time and date. This morning, June 28 at 0940 the date was July 9 at 0435.Â
Just got another V10 and I notice in settings, about phone, status it shows a last factory data reset date and time. This is the same date and time that I opened and started the phone new out of the box.
I have never done a factory data reset to the phone. Does your V10 show a "Last Factory Data Reset" under these settings?
I've never seen a new phone fresh out of the box showing a last factory data reset logged.
While browsing different dates on calendar's month view, the active day view changes back to current day itself in about every 20 sec. Can this set to disabled somehow?
When I remove the battery for about a minute, maybe less, it ask me for setting date and time when boot up. Is this a problem or not? Shouldn't have to keep them? Notice that the phone is 2 days old and charged only once.
Over the past few weeks the date on my phone has reverted several times back to June 28, 2008.
When this occurred, the phone also failed to use or keep network time. I thought it might be the battery, but it shows a strong charge. This is the kind of symptom I would associate with a cmos battery failure in a pc. Does the X have a cmos battery like a PC?
I almost missed an important appointment as my phone thought it was still years away!
I bought this sh... and the worst thing in this smartphone is voice conversartions ex. auto relock touch screen at incoming call and many other. My old E70 is best in that case. This fu... device hangs up always after date change to 1 year past. I do that to install application which has certificate expired .After reset (8 secs. power btn. press) situation is still persist - hangs on pulpit and no reaction for any button but power (8 sec. reset).
Basically my K850i, has always remembered the time + date when I've removed the battery for a short period of time. However recently this no longer work, which is really annoying.I don't know how it used to remember it, but is it a capacitor and could this be broken? Or is there a smaller battery inside.Real time clock says 'ok' but I'm clueless as to what that means!
Each time I restart my phone, it loses the current date and time and set's it to some apparent random day. This last time it chose the 16th of May 2012.
I took delivery of it yesterday and it's been fully charged. I've set the Date+time to 'Set Automatically' to 'On'
Basically there is a way somehow to reset a phone when locked and give the holder FULL access to my mobile account. Where is the security in that? I have also lost all my details while I'm on holiday and need the remote connectivity most! Can I ever trust Nokia again or did I do something to make my phone self destruct?
This morning I try to send a email and my E72 freeze, I turned off and turned on again, my E72 only show me the menu of applications but no make a call, later I make a master reset from configuration menu, and my E72 no boot and only show me a white screen. How to recover the E72? I have the last firmware 31.XX.
I have Nokia E65 and a problem changing WiFi passwords for these a network for which a password has once been entered already. The network is now listed as a known WiFi and for that reason it does not ask the password again. Yet, the password is wrong and the browser fails connecting every time. Never-the-less there appears no opportunity to re-enter the WiFi LAN password.
I've install 2 languages pack (Thai and Japanese), which my phone origin is in Thai.Thai language is working fine, but Japanese is unreadable (shows in square symbol).
