Eseries / Communicators :: E63 Seems To Have Reset And Reformatted Itself?
Apr 23, 2011
Basically there is a way somehow to reset a phone when locked and give the holder FULL access to my mobile account. Where is the security in that? I have also lost all my details while I'm on holiday and need the remote connectivity most! Can I ever trust Nokia again or did I do something to make my phone self destruct?
This morning I try to send a email and my E72 freeze, I turned off and turned on again, my E72 only show me the menu of applications but no make a call, later I make a master reset from configuration menu, and my E72 no boot and only show me a white screen. How to recover the E72? I have the last firmware 31.XX.
I have Nokia E65 and a problem changing WiFi passwords for these a network for which a password has once been entered already. The network is now listed as a known WiFi and for that reason it does not ask the password again. Yet, the password is wrong and the browser fails connecting every time. Never-the-less there appears no opportunity to re-enter the WiFi LAN password.
I've install 2 languages pack (Thai and Japanese), which my phone origin is in Thai.Thai language is working fine, but Japanese is unreadable (shows in square symbol).
I did a hard reset on my phone today as my phone would freeze at times but it seems that it has given me new problems.Firstly, Everytime I restart the phone, the system error message comes up on the homescreen, I would click ok but it comes up 3 or 4 more timesSecondly, I cannot access my contacts at all, whether I try accessing it from the menu or from a shortcut I have on the homescreen.I have tried to solve this myself...I have re-installed the phone software after doing the hard reset, I have restored my phone from the backup I did, and I have rebooted the phone a few times but I still get the same thing. The software is Symbian Anna, I understand that there is a Belle update but it is not yet available for the phone that is on the network that I am on (which is network Three)
I have had this phone since september 2011 and it is under warranty. This is the first time I have encountered a problem.Other than that, everything else works fine; I can install apps and make calls and use the internet etc. I just want to get rid of the system error message, and have access to contacts without having to send the phone off for repair!
My phone has switched off, takeout memory card and it doesnt start anymore. Vibration comes, but display only boot until nokia welcome screen then keep on flashing white screen and no any further actions.
I tried the : Try to press his :
Capslock - Space - Backspace key combination while powering on or *-3-call press them and hold, while you powering on ur fone.
I bought E72-1 in China, Chinese (primary) and English languages built in. If I would have to reset to factory settings, the phone will start in Chinese. I've done it once. I do not read Chinese, so I had my Chinese friend to help me set it to English. Possible problem: if I had to reset to factory settings again, and I had no help at hand - is there some secret code to access the language selection directly (so I could select English)? As I'm unable to use the menu in Chinese, it'd be difficult for me to locate the settings.
I forgot the unlock code for nokia e90 i bought used. it was bought from ireland. so i was searching the forums and i found the *+3+call button+switch on technique to hard reset. the hard reset is complete but fone asks for code and now i am totally struck.
I have a nokia E66. I recently bought a N series and stopped using it for like two weeks. when i went to back to using it, it went offline and has refused to accept my sim card. anytime i try to change the profil from offline to general it sats insert sim card. i have also reset to factory settings with no success. any one who can assist?
my new nokia e7 had an hardware problem, so I brought it one of the Nokia repair centre in Dublin. They have fix it but they also have done an hardreset of the phone (aslo loading the wrong firmware but at least in one week (...) they have fix this). The results is that OVI STORE is not working anymore on the smartphone and THEY
I resetted my E7 yesterday, and noticed that Quickoffice and Adobe readers disappeared! I tried reinstalling Belle from the nokia suite, all went well, but QO & Adobe are still missing. I tried deleting the downloaded installation files from c:usersall users directory, re-downloading the nokia belle update (~350mb) and re-reinstalling the OS, but still QO and Adobe are missing. I tried *#7370#, "delete and restore" etc, but to no avail. I tried changing OSes - WinXP, Win7, Win7 64bit etc, but still no avail.
I have a Nokia E63. My little brother has accidental reset the phone. I have lost all my previous settings, contacts and messages. How do I get back my old settings, contacts and messages?I do not have a back up.
Ever since I have bought Nokia E7 it had almost full phone memory. I've done many hard resets and after every one the situation is the same. With no applications instaled it had 35 MB of free phone memory. After I install Anna upgrades 1/2 and 2/2 it's memory is reduced to about 5 MB. When I look details in phone manager, it shows me that there is 410 MB of "other files". That is impossible since there are no files on the phone after hard reset. And I can't find those files anywere on the phone.
My E72 ask me to input date end time when restarting after keeping off the battery, even for just a second! It seemed to me that this didn't happen before.
Code required to unlock my phone after soft reset, I have try 12345 and 00000 its saying code error. I don't remember my password and I did not back up

I've just had to do a hard reset on my phone (was running extremely slow / not picking up email / internet browser running slow - need I go on). On restart all of my ringtones have "disappeared" - E.g. Trying to change any tone the phone tries to access the library by showing "opening", but it hangs. I have checked the phone using Nokia Suite, and the ringtones are no longer there.
I updated my firmware to 071.004 and my talk time is reset to "0". Previously I had like 64h of total talk time. How can I restore it? I do have nbu backup file, but I can't restore it
It took me a while, but I have come to live with Ubuntu on my Laptop and with Android on my work phone.I love the Symbian functionality on my old personal N5800 and didn't have too much trouble translating to the new Android at work.I want to upgrade my private phone to a Nokia model, but when I had a play with the Windows ones at the shop, I was disappointed at how naff they seem.I don't want to learn yet another OS and TBH, it just looked too wrong. I trust the Nokia hardware, I'd trust it with my life, but the OS sucks. Is there a way of reformatting the phone to Android. I'd even pay to de-license the Windows OS?
My laptop had an unexpected failure and had to be reformatted. My iphone was synced to the itunes that was installed on it.
I have reformatted and reinstalled itunes on the machine now and would like to be able to manage my iphone music on it again. However I am unable to do so. Checking the "manually manage music" option results in being told that to do this I will have to reformat my iphone.
I don't want to reformat my iphone. How can I use my iphone with this computer and itunes, manually managing music, without reformatting it?
I've recently had to reformat my memory card as the camera refused to work with the memory card inserted. I took off all pics, videos and music and saved them to the computer. However, when I've gone back to the Ovi store and into the "my stuff" tab, I cannot click the download button on many of the apps (mainly the ones that I actually use which makes it even more annoying). My husband has told me to go into "settings", then "application manager", then finally into "installed apps" and delete the files for the apps that I would like to reinstall (to reactivate the download button again). fantastic idea, but the file names don't give me any sort of clue as to what app they're for. I asked if it would be quicker and easier just to delete everything from the "installed apps" folder, at which point my husband nearly had a breakdown and told me not to do that as there were files in that folder that relate to firmware downloads and could cause more problems by deleting them.
After an issue with my N97 where I was unable to do any backups from the phone to the internal memory card, I reformatted and reinstalled the apps to my N97 (making sure I did a backup using PC Suite before hand).
Upon restoring the PC Suite image, I found that it didn't restore the list of favourites which have meant that I've lost them all - I'm sure I remember that the backup to memory card did make a copy of them, but as I wasn't able to do this, this wasn't a possible solution .....
Luckily, Google Maps have most of my starred items (favourites) saved, (barring the one I managed to unstar by accident), but it appears as if Google doesn't store the actual co-ordinates and doesn't allow them to be exported ... So in short - is there anyway at all I can get my favourites back ?
