Eseries / Communicators :: E7 Phone Memory Full After Hard Reset?
Nov 28, 2011
Ever since I have bought Nokia E7 it had almost full phone memory. I've done many hard resets and after every one the situation is the same. With no applications instaled it had 35 MB of free phone memory. After I install Anna upgrades 1/2 and 2/2 it's memory is reduced to about 5 MB. When I look details in phone manager, it shows me that there is 410 MB of "other files". That is impossible since there are no files on the phone after hard reset. And I can't find those files anywere on the phone.
my e63 keeps showing the error message 'phone memory full'.file manager says that 119mb are in use, but i can't 'see' the files that are taking up all this space.i've deleted surplus applications like Internet - but could someone possibly suggest how to free up more space? i don't think it's being taken up by emails or text messages (121kb) either.i would prefer not to format the memory, just delete whatever is taking up the 119mb.
I own a E7-00 and would install some more maps to cover more areas. Now I found that the phone memory is complete full and mass memmory only has 1.6gb left.
How can I determine which application or data is using storage memory? There are no movies, music or other "big" files copied to the phone (as far as I know). The only thing I know is "maps". From my experience with E90 and E71 all available maps need about 8GB space, this should fit to a E7 with 16GB
since 2 weeks ago, i can'y access anything on my phone cuz of the full memory message blinking to me!and here is my phone memory details:memory in use: 254 mbfree memory: 5.1 mbcalendar: 13 kbcontacts: 38 kbmessages: 10 mb (deleted all attachments by the way)images: 0 bsound files: 0bvideo clips: 0 bdocuments: 32 kbmidp apps: 1 mbsis apps: 16 mbother files: 226 mb (**bleep**?!!!)with file manager on mobile and also the pc suite i browsed the phone memory c and all i find is a lone folder called "data" with size of 52 kb (after i cleared all possibe unnecessary files), i also cleared the internet cache/cookies and every thing several times....but the message still appearsi have made a soft reset several times also which freed about 16 mb only enough to survive the phone, but later the memory is full again!i have deleted unnecessary apps like facebook, Internet, myspace, hi5, friendster, etc, but the memory is full back again!
I am getting error messages that the phone memory is full, and I should move data to the SD card. However, as far as I can tell, there is practically nothing on the phone memory. I have no apps installed, everything I can is set to use the SD card, SD card is the default memory.I have a few emails, but nothing in sent items, or deleted items. There are a couple of hundered contacts, but I can't image that uses much.Viewing details using OVI it tells me 3.8MB of 256MB free. The software version is 054.005, and according to OVI that is the latest.I have seen lots of other threads with the same problem, but have not been able to find any solution in the threads. I have tried everything I have read (re-installing the software, rebooting, etc. etc.). Can I view what is in the phone memory (I cannot find a way, only to view what is on the SD card) if I could view it then memory I would know how to free memory up.
My phone has switched off, takeout memory card and it doesnt start anymore. Vibration comes, but display only boot until nokia welcome screen then keep on flashing white screen and no any further actions.
I tried the : Try to press his :
Capslock - Space - Backspace key combination while powering on or *-3-call press them and hold, while you powering on ur fone.
I forgot the unlock code for nokia e90 i bought used. it was bought from ireland. so i was searching the forums and i found the *+3+call button+switch on technique to hard reset. the hard reset is complete but fone asks for code and now i am totally struck.
my new nokia e7 had an hardware problem, so I brought it one of the Nokia repair centre in Dublin. They have fix it but they also have done an hardreset of the phone (aslo loading the wrong firmware but at least in one week (...) they have fix this). The results is that OVI STORE is not working anymore on the smartphone and THEY
I did a hard reset on my phone today as my phone would freeze at times but it seems that it has given me new problemsFirstly, Everytime I restart the phone, the system error message comes up on the homescreen, I would click ok but it comes up 3 or 4 more timesSecondly, I cannot access my contacts at all, whether I try accessing it from the menu or from a shortcut I have on the homescreen. The software is Symbian Anna, I understand that there is a Belle update but it is not yet available for the phone that is on the network that I am on (which is network Three)I have had this phone since september 2011 and it is under warranty. This is the first time I have encountered a problem.Other than that, everything else works fine; I can install apps and make calls and use the internet etc. I just want to get rid of the system error message, and have access to contacts without having to send the phone off for repair!
I've just had to do a hard reset on my phone (was running extremely slow / not picking up email / internet browser running slow - need I go on). On restart all of my ringtones have "disappeared" - E.g. Trying to change any tone the phone tries to access the library by showing "opening", but it hangs. I have checked the phone using Nokia Suite, and the ringtones are no longer there.
I have a problem that my E5 keeps telling me it is out of memory, to the point where it has become unusable. I've deleted applications and messages, but it seems to keep filling up and either tell me memory is low or that it is out of memory.
Options -> Memory -> Phone Memory tells me that there is over 200MB in 'Other Files', but File Manager doesn't show them and neither does the file explorer I downloaded from the Ovi Store. So I have no idea what can be taking up all the space...
I don't seem to be the only person with this problem, and since I've deleted as much as I can I don't see how it can be my fault! I am getting so frustrated with this phone
MY E7 keeps indicating that my memory is full. How do I divert all the stuffs on phone memory to the detached memory card. It keeps saying memory low and its so annoying.
Lately Ive been getting notifications on my Nokia E5-00 saying the phone's memory is full. When browsing through my phone memory, there are almost no files.Although I have some apps installed, there not that much of being capable of consuming all that memory. Is there any way to clean up my phone memory (besides uninstalling apps), to get more memory? Or seeing what's consuming all that space? Can I e.g. delete some MfE emails (without deleting those emails from the servers)?
I bought my Nokia E5 about 2 days ago.It worked fine untill yesterday when a message started appearing sayng that the phone memory(c)is full and that I should move or delete some files from the phone memory. The thing is that when I go to file manager all the files are empty.File manager shows 25 Mb free and the rest is in use mainly by "other folder"wich is empty.I only use my memory card for everything except for the contacts wich I keep on the phone memory(63 kb).I removed all apps that could be removed,I deleted all emails, all texts, all notes, calendar entrie, cleared up the cache, cleared up my browsing history,I tried it without the memory card,I tried with another memory card,I gave it 2 factory reset, removed the battery.I tried everything I could think of
i was facing "Memory Full , Close some Application" in FW 71.004 . Before 71.004 version my phone work nice. But after 71.004 update its always shows memory full error. And Same error i got when connect to WIFI .. Error was " System Error " and after that I have to remove batterry and Restart the phone. now , as I updated 81.003 today ,
My brand new E72 did not allow to connect via USB indicating a "Memory full error - close applications".
I was in the process of setting it up and had just defined three mailboxes (Exchange, GMail and IMAP) and installed Skype. It turned out that I had to exit Skype before I could connect USB.
So what is a multitasking OS worth if it cannot cope with one extra application, or should I blame the programmers of Skype?
I am having a problem with the Web browser (NokiaBrowser) when displaying certain animated GIFs. The Web browser crashes with the error "Memory full. Close some applications and try again.". One example of such animated GIF is here: [URL]
I am using NokiaBrowser 7.3.1.34 and E52 firmware 091.003. The animation worked flawlessly in older firmware/browser versions.
updated with the last software, and I'm having a lot of troubles in it, since I buy itbefore updating, the phone used to:-when I turn the Bluetooth on, no device can discover me( available is on)< until I switch the phone off and then on- when I used to search for available networks, it gives system error- and the still problem: General/ memory full please close some applicationsafter updating the software the first 2 problems disappeared but the 3rd became worseIt uses to appear every time I capture a (panorama mode) picture, and when I use the internet. And when I open more than 4 applications at oncebecause I'm about to smash the phoneThe phone is Finland make< and I was surprised for this, I think the best phone I ever had was the N95 8GB. This phone used to run 80 applications at once

1) I am unable to either open the message section, forget reading or sending messages and it shows he error which says "Messaging Memory full. Close some applications and try again" I have tried every possible way i guess. Have deleted all my messages from the cell( Sim, Memory card and from phone memory as well), but no result.. Still unable to send messages. I tried restarting my cell phone, Closed all applications, infact uninstalled many, Formatted memory card and everything.
2) The message tone in my cell doesnt work. Also it doesnt vibrate when any sms comes. Dont know why it has happened like that. Its ongoing since about 6 months now Nothing has worked for both the problems.
I am not able to copy whole of my contact from the memory of E72 phone to the sd card of 7.40 GB.I have more than 400 contacts but only 135 contacts are copied and the balance are not copied
I am not able to change the message storage memory from phone memory to memory card. getting into offline mode and then trying to change, did hard reset of the phone memory etc etc..Still i am not able to get through. earlier I used to get message : Server Busy. Now i dont get that message either. It simply refuses to change to Memory card.
i had a problem that other files in my phone are rapidly increasing in size they have increased from 60 mb to 103 mb in two days and now my phone take so many time to process any application that i open.i want to set memory card as default memory for all application as i had saved maps, messages in memory card.I think that internet browsing has eaten my phone memory, i had also deleted all my privacy data from internet but nothing helped me.
