I still haven't been able to set up my GMail or Chat on my E72.
I was thinking it might be a local provider issue but I heard that Nokia messaging servers have been having problems.
What's the solution for email? Shows the "Preparing for Setup" message forever when I launch the email wizard and doesn't move forward to display options of GMail, Yahoo etc.
So I was having a problem with the original chat app that comes with the Nokia E5 phone saying that I should search for updates, but when I clicked that, I received the message of "Service temporarily unavailable. Try again later.". So I had this for a few days, using different connections and all that stuff, and the problem remained.With no option left, I decided to uninstall the app and thought: "Well, I'll just reinstall it!". There you go, now I need to reinstall that app to my phone. How can I do that? Where can I download the original chat App ("messenger, yahoo, gtalk, etc.", that all-in-one app that comes with E5)? I've tried reinstalling the system, like, using Nokia Suite and pressing the "reinstall system" button there is in the Updates tab, but that didn't help.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Chat (or Nokia Messenger for IM) version 2.0.10 installed on my E72. I used to be able to use it for Gtalk and MSN chatting.But now I can not log in anymore. I even tried the ovi chat and i got the same problem. It says "Authorization failed" with a NOKIA banner on top. I wonder if it is the problem of NOKIA server or just my phone?

When I start the chat, I am shown an option "Get the latest IM service" When I click this option, I see "Checking for new IM updates". It keeps checking for updates for a min or so then I get a message 'Error: Unable to complete request. Try Again" I have a proper wifi and so its not a connectivity issue. Previously I have used Nokia chat and I had all services(gtalk,yahoo etc) but recently I had to format the phone, so had to install chat again.

Recently, whenever I try to sign into Windows Live Messenger using Nokia Chat, I get the "request could not be completed" error. This happens regardless of using Wi-Fi or mobile data. I reinstalled the chat client to no avail. Using Anna v25.007 (if the solution entails upgrading to Belle, it's not a step worth taking).

I have a Nokia E72-2 and I have configured an office account (mail for exchange), gmail and hotmail email. i also had configured a yahoo account but as it didn't work, I went o the settings and removed it.
Since that day, I have not been able to add any new account to the program. Whenever I go to add a new account I open the New mailbox, select anthing on the next screen (yahoo/gmail), it promps to enter email id and password, which i do. then there is a message "detecting email settings" and then it goes back to the screen where I selected yahoo/gmail. I have an IMAP email account. I use it to send and receive emails on my phone.The emails that I receive go to the "inbox" on the E52 and I can access that on my PC too.The emails that I send go to the "Sent items" folder on the E52 and not the IMAP sent folder.Ovi Suite will not let me download sent emails to my PC.

It appears that only the two email accounts set up on your home screen will actually set tone, vibrate and envelope icon alerts when receiving new email.The advertising blurb for the E5 states 10 email accounts can be set up on this phone with push notifications. What is the point in having push enabled accounts for 10 mailboxes if only two will give phone notifications?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having real trouble trying to get any kind of push email on my Nokia E63. I'm in the UK and on firmware 410.21.010 with Nokia Email 9.06.16. According to the Nokia updating site this is the most recent firmware available for my serial number.The email setup just doesn't seem to work at all like the help docs here suggest. I get no option for 'Nokia Email Service' but I do get one for gmail. I can then setup my gmail box OK - but there is no setting for IMAP idle. It only allows me to set up a scheduled retrieval (at best every 5 minutes) and even then only downloads the headers so I have to manually download the message body. Does Nokia really not do push email at all?I've been using emoze as an alternative for a while - but stopped when I found that it was sending random email all by itself. And Mail for Exchange doesn't work with gmail for me - it just stops syncing after a while.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHave been using my E6 for month with no issue. Friday my email stopped downloading from hotmail. I deleted the mail setup however now it won't set up. Have tried to set up a gmail as well with no success. It goes to configure the mailbox and then I get "unable to connect with the information provided. Try again". It has been doing this since Saturday 4th Feb.. I have upgraded the software on the phone and reset factory settings with no success.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI own E6 and 701 and both phones have the same problem: at least once a day I have to restart the phones because they stop to retrieve emails every 15 minutes! It's a shame for nokia, E6 is a business phone!!! E6 has this issue since first Anna firmware and 3 upgrades didn't solve this very annoying issue! Hard reset, soft resets firmware recovery from Nokia Suite useless. I won't NEVER buy a Nokia phone, for sure.

I go to the E-mail-Settings-My Inbox-Account settings. I get settings for mail address, pw, mailbox name, signature info, name, read status and limits.
Where can I check for SMTP server settings like server name, port and ancryption?
My E7 has stopped sending emails with attached files.Emails with attachments sit in outbox and get the "Unable to open while sending" tip when I try to view/edit the email.AFAIK, nothing has changed in terms of my setup as the E7 recieves emails with attachments, sends emails without attachments. I can't seem to find any in depth settings to do with server ports and such within the mail settings anymore.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi have a Torch 9800 on AT&T and I am running 6.0.0.526. When I reboot my phone, I receive a message "Uncaught Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException." Everything was fine until I did an OTA update to 6.0.0.600 last Friday. After I did the update, I could not change my theme(menu<options would pop up then close and Options<display< screen display would do the same thing) and I would get the error. I downgraded to 6.0.0.526 official and I still had the error but I was able to change my theme. I decided to trim my OS using BBHTool (have done this before with no problems). I am still receiving the error even after several battery pulls. I retrieved my event log from Crackutil and below is what shows up(5 times) for the error.

Had problems setting up two email accounts on my E72. Now set up ok, however I have been left with one of the failed accounts that I cannot remove. This account is in emails and is listed under settings but when I try to remove it it sitill remains. I can not open this account in settings either.
