After updating Ovi (Nokia) Maps, I am unable to start the maps application. I get the following error message: "Unplug the USB for using maps".Until now I had been using Maps offline without any problem - and any USB cable.(I would not think, that it's a service provider problem)
My Nokia C7 (C7-00 RM-675) uses 022.014 version of Anna, and the maps related installed application are the next:

Everytime I want to start maps ( nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis) I get a system error and the program is terminated. I've located the new installer file (nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS) but it won't install. I did format the phone, and delete the cities folder and qf file.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Nokia Maps 3 (free edition) for a short while on my Nokia 5800 v40.0.005 and have been happy with the new route directions etc. Suddenly, they have stopped working. The menu loads, stays visibe but unresponsive for a short time then closes. There are no error messages. I tried uninstalling Maps on my phone and have just finished re-installing them but to no avail. Can't think of anything else I have changed but have I missed something? Thanks, Paul. BTW, the positioning software with GPS still works as does everything else on the phone that I can see.

Impossible to uninstall the Map software
I've a L920 runing Maps (v2.9.39.70) and Drive+ Beta (v2.1.0.1451).I've imported my landmarks into Maps, but it is not shared with Drive+, so I have to first go into Maps and then choose the landmark I want to navigate to. The route is then displayed.How do I get Drive+ to open so I can get voice guidance?

I tried reseting my phone but the "lines" were still there. My screen starts shaking whenever I tried to use the keyboard function or it sometimes just blank out on me. Now, today, my phone just completely wouldn't cooperate with me at all...like even opening it, I would see multiple lines and the screen would shake even more to the point I can't see my main screen at all.

The problem is raised, but nobody sais: "yes you can do this, by doing this and that," OR "no, you can not do it, it is not possible".I bought a BB 9780 bold in the recent days. I is a used device, I bought it in a GSM store, it was wiped, therefore completely empty. I refreshed OS6 to the latest version, set everything I could, but I can not get 2 applications to work:BB Maps and Windows Live Messenger.
Maps is simply missing, no matter how many times I install it, it is installed. I do not have a BIS data plan yet, I use the general data plan from my provider. Unfortuntely I can not get a BIS at the moment, for technical reasons.As I understand t can be a problem of service books. Not having a BIS however, I can not ask my carrier for BB service books.Any solutions, ideas? (here I mention, that I downloaded BB links app, and it shows the maps app, I could even start it, but it is a blank screen, however it proves the app is there, but problem must be with provisions/authorization).
My other problem is Windows live messenger, which runs perfectly, except for not logging in. When I put my login credentials, it sais: "Service not enabled for this handheld." So it is not working, I am sure it is also a question of provisioning.I used to use BB in past, some with an sometimes without BIS, and both applicatioins worked fine on those devices. This leads me to the conclusion, that the issue is a question of settings, not devices or BIS plan availability.
Just bought a new Bold 9700. I've run every kind of update possible. BlackBerry Maps IS loaded (v5.0.0). The operating system is the latest. I can see BlackBerry Maps in the add-on applications, yet there's no icon to start the application. The vendor is utterly useless when it comes to helping resolve the issue. The GPS seems to work and gives the correct location data, yet I can't find a means to start the BlackBerry Maps application.

I bought a C5-03 last month. I am planning to visit the UK and my flight is tomorrow. So I downloaded the map the whole UK with voice files for female voice and with street names, just a few days ago. I didn't install any app since then and didn't even connect to the internet with the phone. I used the system for few hours in total and got acquainted. Last night, when I entered Ovi Maps, it just closed after 3~5 seconds, without giving any chance to select any menu or option.
I browsed for solutions on the net but none of them worked. So far I have tried formatting the memory card, restoring factory settings, reinstalling phone software through Nokia suite 3.4 but none of them seems to work. Someone claimed the problem to be solved through reinstalling the OVI Maps software, but I couldn't even find any entry for Ovi Maps on my phone, neither on applications manager nor with other uninstallers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia C5-03 with the latest firmware, and now I managed to free 18MB of the phone memory, but when I try to determine a destination without tolls and with optimized routing for a distance of 300 km between the two cities it always says that the memory is full and to close some applications. When I use the navigation the only thing that is on is the Bluetooth but even when I turn it off it happens the same thing. Sometimes the phone restarts itself.

After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Nokia Maps 3.03 on my E71 (language: German) plus Nokia Map Loader 3.0, but I am experiencing several problems: Nokia Maps goes online via Internet for a few seconds (which costs me) although I set it to my Wireless connection. How can I switch that off? Every time I load a new map (and voices) via Map Loader and then start the software on my E71, it tells me that the maps are out-dated and I need to delete them. But then I do not see any maps in the software, and also the load of the voice is gone.

I cannot download the Here and Now 2.0, it states that the Installation failed and have tried many times to reinstall it. Does this have anything to do with the missing Michelin Guide icon not being there?
