I have a C5 model with GPS support. It includes a Map of Spain-Portugal, but I can't download any other Map. I have tried using the maps option in the Nokia Ovi suite, but it indicates that there aren'r maps available for this model.
About a month ago I bought the Nokia 5800 as I wanted the free Sat Nav, I have version 3.01 on the phone, when I phoned Nokia about something else I asked them about version 3.03 and they told me I could not install this until I had used all the days of my 10 free trial, then I was to ring them again and they would help install it for me, after 55 minutes on the phone we had no joy, so I decided to try myself and did it first time. Now the question I need answered with your help is, I am going to Italy in June and when I open the GPS (offline) it works fine in the UK where I live, and when I input the town Pisa, Italy it finds it on the maps, does this mean that the Sat Nav will work in Italy or is this just a map?
When you download version 3.03 does it download all the maps? Also is there anyway I can find out which maps I have on the phone?
I recently bought a nokia E7 (Blue) US Version but I am using it in Canada. I updated it to Symbian Anna and so on. Everytime I try to add new maps from the cell phone itself it says (downloading list, please wait) this takes FOREVER, then i try to do it by nokia ovi suite, well that is even worse, sometimes it says THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH CONNECTING THE ONLINE MAPS, sometimes it says some crazy errors (COULDNT CONNECT TO THE SERVICE, ETCC). I deleted the E:/cities folder + QF file, I opened the Ovi map apps and they got restored and so on but still nothing happens. Is there any other way to add some map I mean MANUALLY? I need the USA and Canada map, (voice guidande male us), I read some discussion from Ovikudy on how to do it manually but i need theses files.
BTW, I regret buying this Nokia E7 big time I should have listened to my friends and go to ANDROID. I know nokia is killing symbian but please fix those MAP serverS.
How interesting. This is the release version of the Beta which loads of us have been using for months. These have been the supported phones up until now. Quote: Compatibility Ovi MapsBeta works with compatible Nokia devices: Nokia N97Nokia N97 miniNokia 5800 Navigation EditionNokia 5800 XpressMusic Now, ironically, the only one supported right now is the N97 Mini.I'm still running the Beta 3.03 on my N97, on FW 20.0.019. I wonder why the N97 and N97 mini have been running the exact same version until now, but the final version has not been made available for both at the same time. Obviously it doesn't need the new FW to work. Maybe it's just to save N97 users from 2 big updates in a week.By the way, I love the new interface, but it IS a shock, when moving from the old interface. Where is everything?Don't be discouraged, it's all there somewhere. It's just a different logic.
I recently updated my C7 software to Symbian ANNA and now the MAPS Application is not even showing on my device. I already tried several times to download the United States Maps from OVI Suite but after 2 hours or so, will display "download failed".
I installed the new maps from my mobile's software updater but it is not functioning fluently. When I open maps,it shows me the menu but when I go to the map, the map starts loading itself after going online with my gprs connection. I left it for long time but still it did not load the map.It downloaded as high as 10MB data but still did not load the map. Also offline searching is not working in my map.
After updating Ovi (Nokia) Maps, I am unable to start the maps application. I get the following error message: "Unplug the USB for using maps".Until now I had been using Maps offline without any problem - and any USB cable.(I would not think, that it's a service provider problem)
My Nokia C7 (C7-00 RM-675) uses 022.014 version of Anna, and the maps related installed application are the next:
I have nokia 700 i have a different problem with nokia maps, by mistake i uninstalled the nokia maps and now when im trying to install again OTA, it says something went wrong and closes from ovi store. i tried opening the same in OVI suite and it says that the files / folders are broken. i tried to format the mass storage and also did a hard reset, but nothing seems to work.
In my Nokia Maps I wait for a long time but it doesn't show me my position both in both online services and offline services of Maps. And when I search for my position in Google Maps it show me instantly can anyone help me out I have downloaded latest version of India>Maharastra/Goa maps on my C5-03.
In my Nokia C5-00 Chat is not loading & I contacted Nokia Care they wasted my 5 Hours of Time and the end result is nothing. One more probem with Nokia C5-00 is it's poor audio quality, I unable to hear properly because of low volume / sound. Nokia Care Support team told me for Nokia C5-00 the quality is like that only, we can't do any thing.
Well, the title explains the situation best. Many people have encountered this same problem and most of them had the problem solved with a few exceptions. I guess I fall in the exceptions category.
I bought a C5-03 last month. I am planning to visit the UK and my flight is tomorrow. So I downloaded the map the whole UK with voice files for female voice and with street names, just a few days ago. I didn't install any app since then and didn't even connect to the internet with the phone. I used the system for few hours in total and got acquainted. Last night, when I entered Ovi Maps, it just closed after 3~5 seconds, without giving any chance to select any menu or option.
I browsed for solutions on the net but none of them worked. So far I have tried formatting the memory card, restoring factory settings, reinstalling phone software through Nokia suite 3.4 but none of them seems to work. Someone claimed the problem to be solved through reinstalling the OVI Maps software, but I couldn't even find any entry for Ovi Maps on my phone, neither on applications manager nor with other uninstallers.
I have a Nokia C5-03 with the latest firmware, and now I managed to free 18MB of the phone memory, but when I try to determine a destination without tolls and with optimized routing for a distance of 300 km between the two cities it always says that the memory is full and to close some applications. When I use the navigation the only thing that is on is the Bluetooth but even when I turn it off it happens the same thing. Sometimes the phone restarts itself.
I have bought the C2 one week ago and I am facing the following problem: With the maps application I am not being able that the phone indicates my position. I have tried all the tips that I have found. Is there any configuration that I am missing ? It does not have as well the indication of GPRS connection?
I am trying to d/l the above and am getting 'Sorry. your device does nor meet the system requirements that are needed to support U2 Mobile Album'.What can I do please?
I was thrilled to read that finally, Nokia Maps were unexpectedly free. I looked for a download link for my N78 and eventually found one on the Nokia site, so I downloaded the new Map Updater App.
1) While trying to install the maps, the installer prompted me that there wasn't enough space available. I searched my phone and erased as much as possible. 2) At the same time, I installed the new PC Suite. As a result, after restart, my N78 isn't recognized anymore by the computer.
So here my two questions again: how do I restore connectivity between my PC (running XP SP3) and my phone and how do I install those maps?
I have purchased the NOKIA MOBILE TV HEADSET (DVB-H) (CU-14A) for my E7. I cannot download the mobile tv application form ovi store since it says that its only available for c7/n8, although the description does menton e7 support. How can I get this software other than form ovi store?
This is Krishna from India and I am using Nokia5233.. I downloaded KasperSky Mobile Security from OVI apps. and installed in my phone. and now i want to remove this app but it si asking code for uninstall, i dont knw about the code.
Can someone tell me how to download maps to the N900. Please don't tell me the only way to use maps is over a wifi or packet connection! That would make it unfeasible to use when on holday because of data costs! Also is anyone else struggling to get a gps signal? Also when are we going to get turn by turn guidance.
I have a Nokia 5230 which I have made sure has the latest firmware, downloaded Ovi Suite, installed the latest free version of Ovi maps. Now I connect to my PC and go to maps on Ovi suite and it won't let me doownload any maps, what am I doing wrong? I have tried deleting the cities folder and the other file on the handset first and then retrying etc but nothing seems to work.
I've recently had my N97 software reflashed by a service centre as it kept crashing and was running really slowly. It's got the latest firmware on it but for some reason I can't download the new nokia maps v3. I'm still stuck with the **bleep** v1! Called Nokia, they promised a call back within 48 hours, that was a week ago!
