Nokia Nseries :: N8 WLAN Proxy Settings - Saving User Id And Password?
Mar 5, 2012I've looked around on the net but have not been able to find a solution to this problem.Using an N8 (on Nokia Belle), the WLAN settings does not seem to provide any place to specify the username and password for a proxy based network (Note:this is not the pre-shared key for the WLAN, but the username and password asked by the proxy server). When the browser is used, it prompts for the username and password and then works. However other applications cannot connect to this network as they seemingly lack this feature and the phone does not make this globally available.Nokia Configuration Tool (NCT) 6.3 seems to allow placement of username and password values. When configuration is transferred back to phone, NCT shows successfully configured, but this does not seem to be the case when the settings are used by the phone.

so in the Option > advance setting > TCP/ip i set my APN to mtnirancell but still i cant get and send or recive over EDGE.i have to setup Wap Proxy and Http.so how can i setup these stuff in my BB? the Service provider cant help me cuz they dont even know Blackberry.

Second issue is that when a webpage is loading i get the message memory full and the page stops Loading and the tabs on this webpage doesnot work and i cant navigate on the websites, I have tried to clear the cache and the cookies and still the problem persists

Nov 22, 2010I've a Nokia C3-00 and Sitecom WL-174 Wireless Network ADSL 2+ Modem Router 54g TURBO.
The WiFi/Modem router is working fine with PC but not with my C3-00. I'm sure there is no issue of access protection mechanism ( I switched Off psswd and MAC filter to be sure). My C3-00 see the router and initiate the protocol to get IP address from the router but it fails : "connesione WLAN non riuscita"
I'm quite sure the issue is in a sort of not compatibility between the router DHCP and the mobile because I experienced same issue with Nokia E51 on which I sorted out assigning statip IP address to it.
The issue with Nokia C3-00 is that there is no way to assign static IP Address from menu. I tried to contact Nokia support but no answer . even at the Nokia service in my town (Catania) they don't know how to do it .

Every time I try to connect this message always appears "Temporary Network Problem" and "Link Not Available." Only the Bluetooth that works well. When I have a calendar event upcoming the notification alarm starts at the set time, but the alarm will continue until I press Stop or Snooze, which is a little bit disturbing if I'm in a meeting etc. Is there any setting so I only got a single notification signal/vibration and then the device stay quite when an upcoming calendar event (as many other devices do)? Web browsing works fine: when i start web browsing, i am asked to enter my user name and password. But the problem starts when i want to use applications like Vyke Mobile, Chat, E-mail. Somehow there is no connection. I searched the settings of these applications in order to see if there is some place i could enter a proxy/port number, but nothing worked. Aug 12, 2010I'm so confused on here to add the proxy to my Rant. The model number is SPH-M540 I believe. All the guides that I see on how to get the free WAP internet online all say enter Username. When I go into ##3282# Under user name then edit and I enter my MSL code I get User NAI, MN-AAA Secret, MN-HA Secret, SPI MN-HA, SPI MN-AAA, Rev Tun Pref, Home Address, Primary HA IP and Second HA IP. None of those have anything with entering my user name or password that is need to be entered to connect to the proxy. I tried putting the Username in User NAI but that requires an e-mail not just a username. Please help. I have the phone currently on a sprint plan and I really doubt anyone there could or would tell me how to do this.

I just kept getting a message which said "The proxy server is refusing connections". I went to my local Sprint store and after two hours of their playing around with my phone, I was told that I could use Chrome - for some reason you did not get the message with Chrome - or I could reset my phone to factory conditions. Not wanting to reset, I have been using Chrome. I last used it on 11-24 and it worked. As of today I cannot get to the internet with anything. Chrome issues the same message now.
