I can not get word completion to work even if I select Prediction setting Word complet. On On my previous Nokia, if I part-typed a word with predictive text it would suggest likely words but the C3-01 seems reluctant to do so?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using 6310i for a veeery long time .Recently I decided to buy N97.And I have a question concerning the Text Prediction feature.
Very often when I insert a word I'd like to use one of punctuation marks. For example a comma or a full stop.So after my desired predictive text is inserted I use the "1" button.
And if the punctuation mark is not what I want, e.g. a comma appears and I want a full stop then I press the * button repeatedly to get a desired punctuation mark.
Recently I installed Custom Dictionary application from Nokia Beta Labs.And when I edited a list of all custom words that have been added I was surprised to see that there were a lot of words with commas, full-stops, question marks at the end of exactly the same words.
So I made some tests.It seems that when you insert a desired word and you use the "1" button to insert a punctuation mark and then you use * - the words is automatically saved to the custom dictionary with this punctuation mark at the end.Do you think this is intentional or maybe I am using the feature incorrectly?

When I have a calendar event upcoming the notification alarm starts at the set time, but the alarm will continue until I press Stop or Snooze, which is a little bit disturbing if I'm in a meeting etc. Is there any setting so I only got a single notification signal/vibration and then the device stay quite when an upcoming calendar event (as many other devices do)? Will this function depend on witch alarm sound is activated?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen texting with the vivaz I have a problem closing a sentence with a word with nore than one option - home and good for example. On my old C902 I could select the word i wanted by toggling then by pressing the 1 key I would then toggle through the list of punctuation marks at the end of my desired word. On the Vivaz as soon as you hit the 1 key the word jumps back to the first optional word in the toggle list. The noly way I can find to avoid is to hit the arrow key then the 1key and toggle through again. This seems like a step backwards for me.Any ideas? Could SE take this on board for a future update? Particularly as the old phones worked.

Like many others i hate that i can not change a word that i discover was wrong by scrolling back to the word and underlining it then scrolling through with the * button till i find the word it was meant to be. Instead i have to delete the whole word and re-type it.I loved my old nokias as i could do this with them.Anyway i can not for the life of me get my nokia to add Shiver or Shivering to the dictionary. It types pig then i get the ? so i open up spell and the word save and then send but each time i try to type shiver or shivering again i go through the whole process of manually typing the word as it didnt get added to dictionary.
