Which connection is needed to send messages while using a BB Pin number? Is it at the same cost as a text message or would I get charged for making a short connection to the internet?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy daughter has a BB curve and has a problem sending text messages to one of her friends. She gets a message back saying that there are insufficient digits in the number. However, she has the correct number in her contact list and has also tried to reply to a received text from the friend but gets the same message. I have the same number in my BB Bold 9700 and she is able to send messages successfully from my phone. She has also re-saved the number of her contact but still no luck. This is the only number she has problems with.

When using iMessage, is it normal for it to be sent as an email? My friends with iPhones will txt me and when I txt back it starts a new conversation entirely with my email as the contact. Is there a way to set it to my phone number? When I recieve iMessages it's never an email.

I have a Nokia N8 (0598980 )which I recently updated to Symbian Belle - 11.030.0609.00.01 2011-11-26.Checking my recent bill from Vodafone (contract) I noticed that there were a lot of texts to a number I did not recognise that I was being charged for £0.20 + VAT a time.The number is 358504877172 and happened twice a day - around 12:00 noon and again about 23:30 - these tets happened all through March & into April.Anyone else seen this ?odafone insisted that someone was using my phone to send these messages - after lots of "discussions" they refunded them
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo this question is actually about my friends iPhone 4... She and I text on a daily basis and we use iMessages. As of two days ago, every time I sent her an iMessage, it would fail and I would have to send it as a text message. Well we finally figured out it was because her iMessages were turned off (probably by her 2 year old daughter.) So she turned them back on and she sent me an imessage. But when she sent the imessage and I received it, I received the message from her apple id, not her phone number which is what I normally receive her messages from. Her and I can't figure out how to change it back to her phone number..

I use Hotmail email I think this started to fail when I upgraded to the new OS. When I create a new Calender appointment, it no longer shows up in my hotmail calender. If I invite attendees, all they get is a blank email, they no longer get a proper meeting request in their Outlook inbox.
However, if they send me a meeting invite, it is properly recognized on my blackberry.
As best I tried scouring the internet looking at various BB forums, I went into options and deleted my Hotmail email account on the phone. I set it up again and it does not fix the problem. As far as I can tell, my hotmail account is a now typical account that has pop3 access.
EDIT: I removed the Hotmail account and added a GMail account. The GMail account workes totally fine with meeting invites. Also, after the creation of the GMail account, there is now a second inbox icon on my BB home screen. This icon is an envelope like the original one but also has a graphic of the world over-layed on top of it that resembles the Browser icon.

I lost my BB Torch today and I really want to know if there could be any way to locate the phone using its unique pin number. I have barred the line but I feel that there could be some way to find out where it is. I can't use the BB Protect either as I was not aware of it and when I log into the site now, none of the buttons can be used.

All the messages are the same "Ppppp" Yesterday they all had a scrolling circle beside them and message details said unable to send sender unknown.I deleted them but they kept coming back at least a dozen of them at at random times. Today they are being sent. By each message there is a envelope with a clock icon. This is happening while the phone is not being used by anyone and is sitting on a table, so its not as if it is being touched by anything in my handbag or pocket.I was using the Handcent App but it was also happening in the installed messaging software. I have uninstalled Handcent and am using the supplied messaging programme. Also getting a lot of force closing messages when I try to send a genuine text.
