Mar 7, 2011I got a BlackBerry Curve 8520 at work and for some reason my BIS is not working, it says not connected and I cannot manage to fix it. The below is what I did so far.
1. Verified with my carrier (MTEL.BG) that I have all necessary data serivices enabled.
2. Restarted the handheld a couple of times (battery pull and waited 30 secs).
3. Resed to factory settings.
Tried to register my device using Host Routing Tables (the table is empty) but nothinh happen.
Called Tech support and they attempted to register my devide without success. They said that probably my handheld have a defect and to replace it.

Aug 25, 2010I have recently purchased a blackberry bold 9000 secondhand. It is originally a telstra device (it's covered in Telstra logos and on start up it has the telstra splash screen). I purchased it from a man in New Zealand, who himself purchased it from the person who had it on your network, so finding any information about the original owner is nigh impossible.
I just want to know if the unique blackberry PIN is still connected to your company. I have the PIN and IMEI numbers registered to me with the my current carrier (telecom new zealand), also as a precaution I have upgraded the OS to my carrier branded version 5.0.0.592 (bundle 1004,platform 5.2.0.57), (this is the latest version my carrier supports).
Interesting things to note is that when connected to a wireless (wi-fi) connection with internet access, many of the applications can also access the internet. I am not connecting to any enterprise server, the VPN settings are disabled, the APN settings are set to direct.telecom.co.nz with blanks for both the username and password. I have tried deleting and resending the service books many times (each time followed by a"hard-reset"). I have tried wiping the device several times. The dataservices option in the mobile network options menu is turned on, is reading as the correct carrier, and is tuned to the right network mode (3G & 2G).
The browser option, under advanced options, which in turn is within the options menu, has only one setting, "Default browser configuration:" which is showing a blank space, and does not give the option to change it.The exact error says that
"Your device does not currently have any Browser Configuration Service Book Entries.Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device.

Feb 26, 2012I bought a new Verizon 8830 World Edition unlocked from ebay. I confirmed that its unlocked from MEPD command (although it says Network: ''Inactive'' instead of 'disabled').I tried using various GSM network SIMs (India) in it and everytime, it shows an active tower and full signal levels and displays the name of the network correctly. It looks as if its connected to the GSM service at full signal.However, placing calls fail and any call made to the number gives a 'Switched Off' message. i have tried: Battery pull & Wipe out.

BlackBerry :: The Charging Source Connected To Device Cannot Charge You Battery
Dec 12, 2011i have collected probably 15 different chargers the last couple of years that I use at various locations to charge my Blackberry, iPhone, and a couple of Samsung Google Nexus Phones. That is every device other than the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the Torch before that. I get the familiar message "the charging source connected to your blackberry device cannot charge your battery", except when connected to RIM manufactured charger or fortunately the USB port on my laptop. How in the world can every phone other than RIM's Blackberry take a charge from the various power sources without problem. I had the problem to some degree on the Torch, but figured RIM would catch on and get it fixed. Now I have the new Bold 9900 and it does not even work on my trusted 12V car charger. If 4 or 5 different devices work with multiple chargers and the Bold 9900 does not work on any it has to be a RIM and BLACKBERRY problem.Maybe the guys in Waterloo are just totally insulated from the rest of the world and only own BlackBerry phones with Blackberry chargers and believe there is not a problem. At least it appear that way with this charger issue and several other issues, but I won't get deeper into that here?

Feb 2, 2010I have a 5800 and have successfully updated the firmware to v31.0.101 and installed maps version 3.01, but I cannot get the free navigation to work. I have the latests maps using map loader, but every time I try and start it navigating it tells me that my license has expired. In Shops & Licences/My Licences all that is listed is 'Drive Europe - Expired on 26/10/2009'.
Shouldn't Nokia Maps 3 be free?Is there a license code I can input manually to get free drive and walk navigation? Every time I try update (in Shops & Licences/My Licences) it says that there are no updates available.

Jun 2, 2012I have a facebook account already set up for a while now. Now that facebook has the stay connected with your smartphone I have tried to connect my phone with facebook. I get a link sent immediately and everytime I try to install I get a message that reads your session has expired. This is within a few seconds of clicking on the link. I received this phone from my husband and believe it is already installed as I receive notifications from facebook on my blackberry but can not respond as I have to sign in. When I go to login, it will not allow me to. What the heck is with Blackberry or Facebook?

Feb 7, 2010The problems with Comes with Music continue.My first year has expired, and though I have bought a second Comes With Music device I have not yet worked out how I am going to plug that in (see separate post about problems of only one phone per CWM account even if you buy a new phone and renew).
Put my old SIM in new CWM but without yet activating the PIN (two months from sales date to do so) and old phone gets upset and music stops working. Bizarre, so think redownload music to phone again, pain but if necessary will do so.
However, when I try to download the music from PC to phone using Nokia Ovi Player, won't let me, it tells me I have not got the license, I can only download music from the Music Vault.
So I download a track from the music vault, and then try to download it to phone.Still will not let me.Can play track quite happily on the computer, but not on the phone.
As an aside people talk about DRM and how if you are a legal music downloader (like me) then it should not bother you. The problem is I am trying to use music that I have legally downloaded to use on my phone according to my agreement with Nokia, and the DRM is stopping me using it, even though it should not. The reason people are against DRM it is all too good at stopping you doing what you should be doing.
I'm using my Nokia 5310, it has been updated to the latest firmware, I'm on the latest Nokia Music Player, and it expired less than a month ago.
