I have recently gone from an iPhone to an Sony Xperia Z5. I am still getting use to the phone, but there is one particular problem I can't seem to solve. I am trying to take a screen shot of a page in an app but I keep getting a message saying "content may be protected or the memory is full". I know the memory is not full as I have only just got the phone. I can take screenshots of other pages.

I am using a C7 with the built in Acrobat reader LE 2.5. The application is unable to open any password protected PDFs. The acrobat reader LE 2.5 on E63 works fine.
Is there a limitation on the C7 application? Is there a workaround or any other app which will help me read pwd protected PDF?

I find it silly that the an option to find a lost or stolen phone isn't password protected and can be disabled with a few clicks. If I were a criminal, stealing an iphone, the first thing I'd do is disable that option.

Would it be possible to have passcode protected folders in IOS. In other words a second layer of security to open up certain apps that you want to either keep private or restrict anyone else that has your phone or tablet from accessing. For example, I might want to have some financial apps or shopping apps on my phone or tablet and then I let my son use my phone (or tablet) to play some games. As they are kids they explore and end up accessing and maybe even buying something by accident!

I just picked up a sandisk 4g microSD and Sandisk adapter.I formatted the card in my phone, moved images to it and can access it by plugging it into my printer.I wanted to move ringtones onto the card from my pc but I keep getting a "disk is write protected" message. From a search I learned to look for a switch on the side of the card...well there's no switch on the micro card and the switch on the side of the adapter says "lock". I've tried that switch in both positions but it doesn't make a difference.I've used a magnifying glass to look the micro card over but there's no switch.I was able to copy images from the phone to the card then from the card to my pc so I know they're communicating, I just can't write to the card from the pc.

I've been trying to find a way to create a password protected file that I can use on my iphone and ipad for sensitive information. I've tried the password protection on Pages for mac, but once the file is opened in Pages on IOS, there's no way to close it.So, now I think I have a solution by creating a pdf file and adding a password to it, using Preview on mac.
1. create a file using textedit, and Export to pdf.
2. open that pdf in Preview and Export to pdf, with a password.
3. add this encrypted file to the iTunes library.
4. sync the iphone / ipad
5. use iBooks on the IOS to open the file. It will ask for the password. To close, the file, quit the iBooks App.
It looks like this meets my needs. BTW, if you're using windows instead of the mac, you can install libreoffice and use it to create the password protected pdf, then just add it to iTunes and sync the iphone. So, my question is for those who know the inner workings of the mac and IOS, and is whether this is actually secure or is this file crackable?

My iPhone 4GS ( my wife's too) wireless connection won't establish as it has beenĀ doing for over 2 years. No problem getting on the net through on an unprotected network. All of the other devices that use the same home network work fine as usual. The apple store folks suggested the that I try the various resets in the Settings panel, but that didn't make a difference. I searched the forum expecting to see more people with the same issue, but don't.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.6

I have an E72 where i backed up phone memory onto memory card. It is saved as backup.arc and can be seen when in PC suite, but now I cannot delete this because it says it is 'write-protected'.......... The size is 175mb, which is alarming.I am unable do any 'slider thingy' because it is a micro sd card with no adapter. Seriously, it is very very plain!I do not want to reformat it because i do not want to lose any Ovi maps and frankly, E72 has a LOT of software problems, I do not want to risk it (i set up a ringtone which also caused the inability to ever change it.... unless I saved a song as something...transfered it elsewhere...save it again etc etc, point is I am aware how nasty it gets, so, no formatting advice unless you guarantee there'll be no errors!)

I bought an sd card and formatted it with my blackberry curve 8520 and it formatted. I started copying music t it. After, I tried deleting something i did not want anymore and the card gave me errors. I used my pc and it said the card was write-protected. I had two micro sd cards (8GB) turn write protected for no reason. My internet is connected 24/7 and I use microsoft essential up-to-date so i dont see why my card have to turn write protected. I've tried changing security settings in phone on and off later but its still write protected. I've used every means of formatting from ubunto to windows 7. If I delete files with pc or the phone, it disappears from the screen but come back again. None of the file are corrupted cos they work well but i cant delete nor format anything. What is the problem here.

I have bought a new mobile Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini pro Sk17i and using a 4GB Micro SD Transcend card in it. All goes fine. But sometimes when I open the camera it shows an error "Memory card is write protected. Cannot edit files". The same error I get when I try to open the galler or media player. But I use a third party File manager App which shows and allow me to open the contents in the Micro SD card except image and music, video files. Other files such as .pdf, .html open in Adobe reader, HTML viewer or browser without any issue. Also this error does not appear after I restart the mobile. For some 5 - 6 usage of camera this error again appears. And the card is not damaged since I checked with connecting to the Laptop thorugh USB mode (both Mass storage and Media transfer mode) also through a card reader, everything works fine.

My wife phone got stolen. She has an official unlock Blackberry Bold 9900 phone. I contacted our provider AT&T about blocking the device, they said that the can't do it because it is not an AT&T phone. AT&T only suspend the service. They were even unable to direct us to whom should we speak with. I would like to totally block the phone from being used with any sim. How can I do that? The device have important information and my wife has a password on the device. Can they hack it without formatting the device.

My Nokia 5800 can't establish connection with WPA-protected home Ad-Hoc network.
I created such network based on my laptop wireless adapter and configured a WPA2-encryption for it. Then I found this network available via Nokia 5800 wlan-menu and tried to connect - this caused an error "System failure: function is not supported". So that Nokia smartphones support only open and wep-encrypted Ad-Hoc networks. WPA/WPA2 is enabled only for infrastructure mode. (But my laptop wireless adapter only supports managed mode, ad-hoc and monitor mode, so I can use only ad-hoc mode to set up home access-point. And I am sure I should use only WPA encryption for it, because WEP is vulnerable)
Maybe I can edit some configuration file in my Nokia device to enable WPA-encryption for Ad-Hoc?
If Nokia can enable this function in later versions of firmware?
I also will be very grateful if you recommend some symbian-applications which can enlarge wlan-functionality in my phone.

Like always, on previous Symbian phones I have locked my memory cards with passwords and if you were to insert that locked card into another Symbian phone, it would immediately ask you to enter the password. I did so with my old phone (Nokia C7) and now after inserting that locked card in the 808, nothing comes up.. it doesn't ask for a password input. I am now stuck with a 16 gigs locked micro SD card to which I know the password but I can't unlock it! I know for sure that password protected cards will not show up on computers and it doesn't show up on my gf's Android either. I have been to a Nokia care shop and they have tried with other Nokia phones but nothing worked. They suggested using the phone it was locked with but that's not a possibility because it was broken into pieces and sent to Finland
What else can I try to be able to unlock/input my password into this SD card?
