Can RIM add the capability for Messages to lookup addresses not only in my local Contacts but in my Corporate Exchange directory as well as my BlackBerry Tour 9630 currently does?

Tour 9630 Telus, Out of the blue I am not able to open blackberry messages (they are received fine) and I cannot start a new conversation with a contact. When I click on the contacts name nothing happens, if I try to "open chat" nothing happens. The only way to send a message is to "Broadcast Message". I have no problems with email or SMS.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am now moving my email service to Gmail and plan to connect it to my BB Tour using the Google Sync service. My Gmail account handles 2 email addresses- one Gmail address for personal, and a second address for business that uses a private domain hosted by GoDaddy. When I am at my PC creating new emails the Gmail service gives me the option to designate which "From" address is used for each new email. When I am at my PC replying to emails the Gmail service automatically designates the "From" address to match the address that was used to send the email to me. Can I have similar functionality when sending new emails or replying to emails from by BB? If yes, in whole or in part, then how do I do it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI used the Email Settings to delete two email addresses I used to use from my Blackberry.The folders are now gone and the email addresses do not show up under Email Settings any longer.HOWEVER, when I go to my messages folder under Options then Inbox Settings,I still see those email addresses just with the Check Box checked off from them under Email Accounts.Is there a way to delete these from this list?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just discovered that the Photon doesn't allow adding local (phone) contacts??? The documentation even says an e-mail account has to be set up before you can add a contact to the phone..
So, every contact I've added as been added as a gmail contact. Somehow I have some local contacts on my phone, I think they came over from my Epic.
The problem with this (other than the obvious requirement to have an e-mail account to put someone's phone number my phone!) is that some applications that synch only look at local contacts. For example, I was trying to figure out why another QIK user that is in my address book wouldn't synch and get the QIK user information, yet some of my others did. I found out that all of the ones that did, are local contacts (that were added back on my Epic and moved to this phone). Any contact added via this phone (thus as a Google contact) won't synch with QIK.
Sure, Moto could point fingers at QIK, but this seems like it could happen with others, as they would certainly expect local contacts to be there.
whenever I try to send an MMS message to an email address, the email recipients never get it. This happens on BOTH phones. The phone says it sent just fine and everything is rosey but the email recipients never get it. Once in a great while one WILL go thru however. The rest are stuck in limbo somewhere. Is this a network problem or my phone settings? These are AT&T compatible phones running Android 5.0 on Straight Talk. I called Straight Talk and basically got no where. The tech said it's got to be the area I'm in. I recently went on a trip to San Diego which is 800 miles away and the phones did the same thing. Wouldn't sent MMS to email add's. I will add that phone to phone MMS works just fine. The trouble is sending MMS from phone to email address. It doesn't work. Attached is a screenshot of my APN settings per Straight Talk.
View 19 Replies View RelatedEarlier I synced Contacts, Keychain and Calender on my Mac, iPhone and MobileMe. I made sure that I selected the option to have the data on the Mac replaced. Calender and Keychain synced correctly, however, Contacts on MobileMe and iPhone were lost and replaced with the Contacts on my Mac - which were none. I have no idea why this happened and I have no back up because I to do an erase and install of Leopard today. It isn't such a disaster as I have most of the contacts saved in other ways. is there any way I can copy or transfer the email addresses in my Mail App to the Contacts App? It is easy to do on received emails, but I can't figure out how to get the 'saved' email address to come up with the option to Create A New or Add To An Existing Contact.

I recently configured my Bold 9700 with a data account and added two E-mail addresses. One being personal, and the other being my school E-mail address. After doing this, I noticed that my contacts were doubled and in some cases, tripled. Some contacts say that they are sychronized to my personal E-mail, while the duplicates say that they are sychronized to my education email address. How can I solve this problem so that the duplicates are deleted? I have several hundred contacts and it is a pain to delete them manually.

I still have the data in a desktop application and it would be fantastic if I could copy and paste them on my desktop and then sync them to my phone? Well, it works (over Bluetooth as well as USB), but somehow only the phone number(s) and some other details (postal address, company etc.) are stored in Outlook - but NOT the email addresses of my contacts!
IS it a known limitation? Is it due to the old version of Outlook? Is there a work-around?
My razr maxx all the sudden ended up with 15000 contacts in it. I should have about 200 at the most. No fooling, they are all email addresses. Of course only 200 are ones I know. How do I remove them?

I have BB Tour that is a corporate cell phone and is set up using Microsoft Exchange to receive my corporate e-mails. We use MS Outlook as our mail program.I was just playing around in Outlook trying to figure out how to attach my business card to the end of e-mails I send and soon realized I was looking at all of my personal cell numbers of friends, family etc. in Outlook on my corporate lap top ! View 4 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning to find my entire contact list deleted from the Contacts application, however when I open an email or an SMS, all of the contact information is there for that particular person. When I look at the call log, the information is also there.I have a backup done on Friday (yesterday) on Outlook at my office (not on work server since they all use IPhones for that. I prefer my blackberry so I use the non-server syncing)...is there another way to get this information back or do I need to wait to resync on Monday?
I had a lot of apps on there that I don't use, so I deleted the off this morning to help get some memory back. I haven't yet done a battery pull on my phone...will doing one affect anything or should I just do it to help clear the memory up and make room for contacts?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy boss and I just bought two BlackBerry Torch 9810's under the impression that these phones had the ability to use the phone as a mobile HotSpot. At this point it appears that this function should be availble in BlackBerry OS 7.1. As far as I can see Sprint has just released this update about 3 days ago.I really need to know when this will be available for ATT Wireless, as that is our current provider. My boss is already planning on taking his BlackBerry back to ATT within his 30 day period so he can get a Droid that already has this function if we can't get some reassurance that this option is indeed going to become available and soon.I on the other hand, have had my phone for two months, but would rather have a BlackBerry over a Droid any day, but I did have the expectation that I could use the phone as a HotSpot or at least tether over WiFi, or else I may have sucked it up and gotten a Droid (even though I prefer BlackBerry).
