Oct 29, 2010Suddenly when I compose an email, I have to select which Type of Encoding. Did used to have to do that, How can I turn that off?

BB Bold :: No Attach File When Composing Email?
Sep 12, 2010I have a bold 9900 and when composing an email I can only attach picture, contact, or certificate. There is no option to attach file. This is using bis. Not on bes.

With bb10, while composing an email i can click attach files it takes me to BB10 file manger which has all my drives integrated - I can choose files from dropbox or skydrive and attach it to an email while replying to an email (remember. I don't have to start with the file manager app to attach files)
Motorola Defy :: Composing And Sending An Email?
Aug 5, 2011I have just used the Email app that came with my Defy to send a message for the first time. The only trouble is that it didn't send. It is sat in the outbox not actually doing anything. what I can do about it to try and get it to send it? I just don't see much in the way of options.
I have looked at the settings for the different email accounts I have and that particular one all the settings for incoming and outgoing servers are correct and just the same as they are in outlook on my computer.

Dec 26, 2011Just recently, on my Droid 2 Global, whenever I am composing a text or an email, if I use certain puntuation (usualy a question mark, excaimation mark or comma) the screen will freeze and I have to restart the phone. Happens with either built in or third party text/email apps.

Apr 26, 2010I am 1 step away from throwing this phone against a wall, I really need to access my emails asap.. So hoping some1 can help..Basically it seems to intermittently go into this mode or has this bug or even screen damage? If i open my emails for example what ever I click on it highlights every email from the top to that specific email instead of just selecting 1 email. I cannot click on any individual email it just highlights multiple emails and its impossible to open any emails like this, even if I use the BB Function button then click on Open it jumps to the top "Help" and wont select "Open" or any were else on the menu. It happened a few times over the last week or 2 then randomly goes back to normal, was fine all weekend now it has just happened. I cant select some of the main icons on the home screen either, it's really starting to seem like the touch screen is damaged?? (Also I noticed on the facebook ap there is 1 icon it will now not select unless I tilt it to the side..)

When I receive a message written in cyrillic it shows only some strange symbols and I cannot read it.I had a similar situation opening a text file (also written in cyrilics), but the OfficeSuite had an option to set the encoding (uniceode, windows-1251, etc.) and this fixed it. Is there any way to set the encoding of the phone's Messaging application?

Jul 5, 2010I had my official mailbox set up on E72 and recently i removed the mailbox due to issues with sync. Mailbox got removed without any issues, however when i click on email one touch key, it still goes to the old mailbox & asks for pwd for connecting. Shudn't removing mailbox clean up everything? I also see this old mailbox name appear under email>global settings>homescreen>. This is strange and annoying. Is there a way i can clean up old mailbox w/o doing hard reset?

If I need to mark as read, I can only select one by one, but if i selected any read emails, it will just provide option button below as mark as unread.

LG :: Video Encoding Success On Virgin Rumor Touch
Jul 10, 2010I've spent a few days here trying to track down info on encoding video for the Virgin LG Rumor Touch to no avail and have had a break through so I'd like to share what I know so the info is out there to google.. I'm a newby to trying to mess with my cell phones so If anyone has any other info to optimize and improve on this please post!
First of all you'll need FFmpegX or some equivalent program from there the rest was pretty simple. First of all yes, as you may have seen elsewhere you can use a 3gp set up as long as you change the audio settings to AAC but the video resolution is cr*p, but I just wasn't happy with that. So, after trying many of the user preset options on isky software trial I'd discovered that I could get mp4 video to play but was stuck with the watermark on it....but here's the catch.YOU HAVE TO ACCESS YOUR MP4 VIDEOS THROUGH THE TOOLS MENU IN ORDER FOR THE MP4's TO WORK.If you go through the Photo's and video page you'll get and error mesage and it won't read mp4 - I've tried repeatedly, thinking maybe it was just a random error after getting it to play through the back door this way.Now since I had the watermark on the iSkysoft conversion I thought what the heck - let's get open ffmegx and see what we can do.I started with a short video so as not to waste time - and I'll try to dumb this down as I'm kinda dumb when it comes to this stuff too.So first I loaded the ipod h.264 320w preset which I believe uses and h.264 codec if I'm not mistaken.
Under the video tab in the menu I then switched auto size to 4:3 which resets the video size to 320x240 which I believe is the proper size for the Rumor Touch.Then in the drop down menu I selected NTSC (29.97) because it was the horrible res on the 3gp that had me spending the last to days trying to find something better in the first place.Then under the video bitrate calculator on the left just use your cursor to hit "best" which will set the optimal bitrate for the new size.Also I'd be sure to check under the Audio tab menu to be sure that the drop down is set to AAC because that was a playback issue if it wasn't set correctly in iSkysoft - and you may want to reset the audio bit rate to at least 128 cause 96 is a bit low for most audiophiles..After that just hit encode and drop the new vid into the DCIM>100LGDCF folder on your SD card and then acces the video through MAIN MENU>TOOLS>MASS STORAGE>FILE MANAGER>DCIM>100LGCF and hit play!
The one caveat I have here that though I haven't tried to use this setting to encode conversion from Xvid yet I have not been able to get audio to encode from Xvid to ipod conversions in the past so this may or may not be something to be aware of.Figuring out how to get good vid on this thing has improved my happiness with it greatly...Now if someone can just figure out how hack past that da*m Virgin lock out so we can play music in the back ground and load a few games and apps !!!

but could not find a "send email" option??

May 13, 2011Ok so i figured out how to make it so no sound or lights go off or the lil red star thing on the folder but I still get the lil envelope when I get a new e-mail, I wanna make it so I get NO notification at all so I can just check it when I want to.

Apr 14, 2010I am currently on my 2nd X6 after the first one had a fault which made the cursor move by itself when composing a message (I always hold it at the regular portrait angle). It would also do the same with the delete button, sometimes I would press delete once, for example on a spelling error and the X6 would just carry on deleting, wiping out all of my message.So I have a new one and exactly the same is happening! The cursor flys around the screen, usually in the backwards direction, making a 30 second message turn into a 5 minute long nightmare. Im on o2, it is the 16 Gb model. Anyone know why it is doing this? I have taken the screen film off as I though that maybe that was interfering with the touch sensitivity, but it seems to be an internal error. It is infuriating losing a message, especially when I am on the move and can't use 2 hands to wrestle with this HAL-like behaviour The very fact I have had to sign in to this forum sums up how poor Nokia devices are.
