I now use a Torch 9800. This is my first cell with touch screen. When on Contacts, I find very unsafe the red cross for deleting contacts positioned at the bottom, right hand side of the touch screen. This position is just the centre of gravity of the device when the keyboard is out. So it is easy to put the thumb on it when holding the device. Out of many times this happens to me, from time to time it happens that I delete a contact with some other unintentional touch on the screen. As the easiest immediate solution I would suggest to take that function out of that corner. A more drastic solution is to keep the touch screen input operational only when the keyboard is closed. When it is open the user will make use of the keyboard and presumably he/she does not need to use the touch screen. Alternatively it may be left to the user to select touch screen ON/OFF when the keyboard is open.
is it safe to share photos and important documents over bb messenger. have recently received a message claiming that all data are stored in server of rim and is not safe ?
I just got a new update on my 7.1? I don't know what number. I currently have .580 so it must be a higher number? Do any of you think it is safe to do the OTA VS using desktop mgr?
I am owner of a Blackberry 9800 Torch for about a year and now it does not startup. I turned the phone off last night and this morning it does not start up. I didn't make any changes to the phone so very strange. The behaviour is that when I take the battery out and it turns on, the load screen start but the little white line only starts a little (2mm line) and then it restarts and does the same thing and loop over and over again in this till battery runs out. I have tired to enter Safe mode by holding in the Escape bottom when the load screen starts or when the red light turn off but it does not enter Safe mode.
I updated my Blackberry Torch 9800 to the latest Blackberry V6 Software last weekend. My phone died yesterday and much to my horror I find that I cannot use safe mode as when I hold the escape key down the phone reboots before it comes up. So I have no way of restoring the backup as the desktop software will not connect to the phone while it is rebooting.
I picked up my phone three days ago to find it had turned itself off, it had only been in my bag and then next to me on the floor. I turned it on to find that it turned on in safe mode. I took out the battery to reboot it in normal mode, and from then on none of the keypad buttons work. It is also still in safe mode. The touchscreen does work, but nothing else. I have taken out the battery multiple times to try and fix it but it doesn't work.
So...today I did the software update that came up on my Galaxy S5. Since it installed I keep getting notifications that my storage space is running out. I checked the storage data and for some reason the Storage Contacts are taking up almost 5GB! I only have about 50 contacts, so why so much space is being taken up. I have moved/uninstalled every app I can to free up space, but to no avail...I can't even access my contacts now!
my phone has died in the past 24 hours. I received a message saying I was low on internal memory today - which was weird because I normally have about 50MB free. I noticed contacts new storage was at about 40MB, thought that was weird, but decided to free up some memory be deleting a few unused apps. I deleted about 40MB of unwanted items and my phone was good... for about 2 hours. The internal memory message popped up again, and this time, contacts new storage was using 80MB of internal memory. I currently have 0MB free. It appears CNS is using whatever free space I happen to have on my phone - which is weird since I haven't had problems for over a year with the app.
Sure, I have a linked Facebook account (which I have read can cause problems... hat and Twitter); however, I only have 100 contacts on Facebook...nothing extreme by any means. I have about 50 regular gmail contacts.I would like to be able to "clear data" and have the phone resync my contacts; however, clear data is almost always grayed out on my phone.
I got my 9860 last week. Everything seems OK except occasionally the phone just stalls for a second or two before I can regain my control. When I checked my phone's memory from Options page, I was surprised to get the following information. I then validated the information with an app called "BeInfo Lite". This is very different from the 9860 specification where I should have 768MB RAM and 4GB storage memory. Phone Options->Device->Storage: Application Storage - Free Space: 150.3MB Built-in Media Storage: Total 2.5 GB, Free 2.2 GB The app "BeInfo Lite" shows the following: Flash Memory (RAM): Total: 512.93MB, Free: 149.7MB, Used: 363.23MB Storage Memory: Total: 2.58 GB, Free: 2.23 GB, Used: 350.78 MB Is there anything wrong on my phone?
It was working great until I connected it to the computer for first time and did the updates and backup suggested. I now get the message "Built in storage media is not accessible due to fatal errors". I also lost all the ringtones. Being a non-techie I did not connect the two. The next time I connected to the computer to backup etc and to download ringtones because mine were gone, all the wallpaper that comes with the device was gone. I have connected again to back up my blackberry andtried to restore to see if that helps, it does not. I did try to reformat my Built in storage media but it did not get rid of the error message and now I donot even see built in storage media coming up when I am in device options.
I can't find the option on the Torch.I am trying to synch up Documents to Go and it says to turn off mass storage media but when I follow the instructions, they are incorrect.I go to options and it says to go to media card but I don't see that option anywhere.
My computer does not connect/find my Torch. Looking at FAQ the enabling of Mass Storage Mode is noted. Going to Options/Device/Storage I find that Media Card Support is enabled but nothing happens. Disable and enable
I am trying to put my music on the media card of my new 9800 Torch. I first need to enable the mass storage mode. How do I do that?????? I cant find ANYTHING that says "mass storage mode" on or off. How do I turn it on???? I tried to sync some music to my new Torch but it went in the main memory not onto the storage card where it belongs. How do I make it go ONLY to the sotorage card. Is this something I have to do on the desktop program?
everytime i unplug my phone from my charger its comes up with a message saying built in media storage not working, please repair or format so when i click thaat it says unable to repair or fix!!! ive tried wiping bb but still no joy.
my blackberry torch froze then this message came up media card storage cannot be accessed due to fatal error. I have tried repairing it and reformatting it
I just got a Transcend 16gb class 6 Micro SDHC yesterday. Everything went well until I put it in my Torch 9800and formatted it like it requested. Afterwards I received the media card fatal error. Here's where it getrs strange: I assumed the card had corrupted, but upon using the adapter to access it on the computer, it worked fine there. Tried reformatting from the comp, still works on the comp., but upon insertion in the phone, fatal error. I tried puting it in my old 8520, works like a charm, no issues. Tried reformatting using the 8520, still a fatal error when inserted into the Torch. My old card that I was using was a Transcend 8gb Class 6, Which still functions with no probs.
Every time my Torch powers up,I am getting a message "built in media storage not accessible due to detected errors. Would you like to repair?". If I select YES, a message eventually appears stating that the repair process failed. If I select NO, everything seems ok.Anyone else getting this error message? Anyone know what the ramiifications are?
whats the total storage and available storage after factory reset?i have the latest update 12121, total storage is 6.28GB and my available storage is 5.94GB is that normal?
I've run into a bit of a problem, as have MANY Photon 4G owners have as well.since mounting my Electrify as a USB mass storage device (the two "MOT" drives pop up in explorer), now the internal storage (which is where everything is) comes up as an unreadable drive. It mounted fine when I got it, then stopped working, then worked for a day, now it doesn't work.I've tried uninstalling drivers, taking out the battery, SD card, etc etc.
I have an iPhone 5 and its at full capacity. Mostly due to my large music library. I noticed I can increase my iCloud storage to up 50GB with yearly payments. Does this increase the overall storage on the iPhone 5? Essentially, I am trying to increase how much music I can hold on my iPhone. If I add 10 to 20GB of iCloud storage, will I be able to add more data (audio files) to my iPhone?
I have just linked my Google Account with my BB Torch and now all my Gtalk contacts are appearing in my Phone Contacts. I want to hide Gtalk contacts from phone contacts.
does anyone no how to transfer all my contact from my Tour which is cdma with no sim card to my new Torch with sim card. i cant do it using blackberry desktop software.
I purchased the $100 per year additional storage, however, upon purchasing it, my phone has still not upgraded to the additional storage and will not allow me to take anymore pics; it says go to settings & upgrade storage, I did that already, but it is still reading the old 5 storage bites. I do not know what else to do! I tried to reboot my phone, that did not work, after rebooting I thought perhaps if hooked it up to my laptop and tried to sync it that might help, it says itunes cannot sync due to not having enough storage, go to settings to upgrade storage.
Info: iPhone 4, iOS 5.1, bought Xstorage cell not upgrading
