First time for me on this site and the first time for me with a Blackberry Torch (was and IPhone user) preview text messages when received and the screen is locked?
View 2 RepliesI want to be able to leave my Wildfire S lying around the house without worrying about someone picking it up and reading my texts. I have set it up so I have to enter a password before doing anything. This is great except for one thing. When I get a text, the first few words are shown even before inputting the password. How can I stop this? I've tried all the settings in 'text settings' .

Just wondering if there's any way to have my incoming text messages preview on the lock and/or home screen (as done with the iPhone)?
For about a month now , my phone has been having problems sending text messages. Some people receive them just fine, some people receive boxes instead of letters, and some people receive blank messages. Sometimes people just don't get anything. My phone registers that they have sent, but they never receive the message. I have also tried restarting my phone and taking out the battery many times.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust recently I have had some problems sending normal text messages..The problem is when I want to send a text I go to my contacts and try to send a sms message, but instead of opening up a conversation window I get taken straight to my recieved messages... I havent had a problem replying to messages after people have texted me, its iniating the converstation thats not working.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHTC ONE. With the Stock Messaging app on the phone, I like it and all but I have a small gripe about it. I don't get message previews on the lock screen when I get a message. Yes I know, maybe it's disabled to save on battery life, but battery life is not an issue for me on this phone. Anyways, the only way I can get a message preview on lock screen is if I use CHOMP SMS messaging app. I dont like it, I prefer the stock one, but I leave it on so that I can get previews on my lock screen. Any way to maybe Enable the feature so that I can see a preview of my text on the lock screen?

I know it's a problem with my phone, not the people i'm sending them to, as it's happened with more than one person on different networks. My phone is on Orange and has the latest software update too?

When i was checking my emails on my Blackberry Torch 9880 the screen froze. During this time i know i got a text message (heard the text alert sound). My Blackberry automatically reset itself and when it had rebooted i had lost the previous 2 days worth of messages...including the new text which i was unable to read.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy wife just bought an LG G3, finally upgrading her LG Optimus T. She was having the same issue on her old phone, which is what prompted her to give the thing a decent burial.
The problem is that she's intermittently receiving texts 12 hours or more after they're sent. She's seldom anywhere that there's no signal & her old phone only recently started exhibiting these symptoms.
Her SIM card was upgraded when she got the new phone & I installed and formatted an older Class 10 32 GB SDHC card from my S4 after I replaced it with a 64 GB card.
When I receive pictures via text message, i get 2 options, one to open with gallery, or with google photos.... when i open with gallery, the pictures a tiny as hell, and i cant zoom in on them and when i open with google photos they are blurry.
I got it to work once before but i sure don't remember how. I open the pictures with the stock messaging app, handcent, and 8sms and its all the same....
Everything else is working fine but all day I've had issues texting and making/receiving calls. I've done a soft reset at least 10 times. Will let me then do about 2 texts, then it goes back to sending error. Every time I try to make a call it doesn't even ring, just goes to call fail.

im having a problem with sending text sms messages. When isend these messages i get a check mark showing they have been sent. Why should i assume otherwise? And then i hear from multiple people that they received them at 4am or the next day or even just 30 minutes later and out of order. I even tested this with a friend sitting side by side. Out of 3 text messages sent, he only got the 2nd one and didnt receive any of the others. I read on another forum that it might be because my sim card might be old? Is this the knly possible explanation? It is probably at least 4-5 yrs old since i just get new phones but keep my sim card.

Not the end of the world I know but can be handy to have the time.Is this something that is possible or do I just have to live with it?
My bb keeps reading aloud every text message I receive, not good! I've tried all sorts to stop it but I am now really not happy about it.

I have vibrate on text message receipt turned on. My phone will vibrate indicating I have received a message but there is nothing in the notification bar or in the list of text messages. I know that it is a failure to receive because I often text people asking them if they just texted me and I almost always find who it was. They resend and I get it. I can't seem to find a trend as to what the root cause may be. Is this a known issue that is expected to get addressed in one of the upcoming patches or do I need to report it to Motorola to look into?
I cannot get contact names to show on text messages received. It worked on my old iphone and i just upgraded to the 6 ....

Then I had troubles with exiting to messages list from search window which still read "0 messages found". And then when I pressed "B" to look for the oldest message it showed me that the oldest one is a month old. This is absurd, throughout all my previous blackberries I saved and moved all my text messages to a new device, including the present BBB 9900. The option "Keep messages Forever" has been on since the day one on my every device. The memory is 2 GB free on media card and 5Gb free on the device. Never changed a thing in the settings.

Issue: BBM Messages are not being delivered or received.I can type out the messages and send, but they are not delivered and I am not receiving any bbm messages. I can send the same message 10-15 times and one may be delivered.Text messages work, and my browser is working, both on data and wireless. Was working fine last night, the issue started today. Have performed both soft and hard reboots, no change.
