BB Curve 8900 :: Text Messages Received From Unknown Number
May 21, 2010
I keep getting texts from the following number 07800002015 it appears that this number is replacing the number the text was actually sent from. I am using vodaphone business account, anything i can do to stop this?
Every once in a while I would get one SMS message from an unknown number which was spam. Today, for the last 4-5 hrs, I've been receiving numerous spam SMS msgs from 2 area codes in the Atlanta, GA area that are 3 different mobile numbers, and some of which are from the same repeating mobile number. Is there a way to block any spam text messages? I've just been deleting them, but didn't know if you can filter or block SMS msgs like you can with emails. I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 through AT&T
I keep on receiving an empty text message or a text message with different characters (examples are the following: @PF, #, Q"_$ ...) from an unknown number. This happens every time I send a text message to anyone on my contact list. The unknown number keeps on getting longer with every text message I send. What should I do to make it stop?
First ever Blackberry after only using Nokia's and must say find it hard work/slow. My mate has been winding me up and bombarding me with loads of nonsense sms messages via his iphone as it takes seconds to send them. I know have 200 odd messages showing in my inbox but can only delete them individually
I upgraded from a MotoRazr2 V8 to a BlackBerry 8900 Curve so I wanted to transfer my data from the Moto to the BB. Well, I learned that Moto doesn't play nicely with Mac so my MacBook Pro was not much of a help. I had better luck with my HP running XP and managed to get the contacts switched without too much trouble.
The SMS records are another matter. I couldn't find a way to transfer them using BB Desktop Manager so I made a text file copy of them into a Windows folder I created. Two actually - one for inbox and one for sent items. Now I can't find a way to load those text files onto the Curve. I've tried every way I could think of using Desktop Manager but no dice. I would love a solution that does not require buying more software.
Just recently I have had some problems sending normal text messages..The problem is when I want to send a text I go to my contacts and try to send a sms message, but instead of opening up a conversation window I get taken straight to my recieved messages... I havent had a problem replying to messages after people have texted me, its iniating the converstation thats not working.
Why is it hat when my contacts text me some will with the name and the others just come up as a phone number? I am a new I product user and it's got me stumped.
My daughters boyfriend gave her his old Blackberry Curve 8900, after he got a newer blackberry on his contract. My daughter just used her old sim from her old tmobile phone. I pay £15 per month for her to have 600 minutes and unlimited texts. But since using her sim in the BB, there have been strange charges appearing on her statement. She doesn't use any apps on there, and hasn't seen anything happening on the phone so we're at a loss as to what these charges are. They are only a few pence, but last month it came to over £7 and this month in just 3 days the total is already £2.She popped into our local tmobile store and was told that BB's are not supposed to be used without a data package, whatever that's supposed to mean.Tmobile do a booster for unlimited internet for just under £5 but I can't really afford to be paying that every month, i'd just rather get rid of these extra charges all together. Most of the text messages i send work fine, but about 10% are never recieved/ will be received days later. I know it's a problem with my phone, not the people i'm sending them to, as it's happened with more than one person on different networks. My phone is on Orange and has the latest software update too?
an unusual icon has appeared on my screen, anyone know how to get rid of it or what it is?! its a blue square with white dots in it and a red start in top corner of the blue square. it has a number one beside it. never seen this before, its not a facebook notification from what i can ascertain
iv looked on all the help pages but cany seem to find what this item is, it appeard last night after trying to send a message, it looks like a red clock on a white background does this mean message watiing? as i dont seem to beable to send any out but im reciving fine should i contact my network?
My wife just bought an LG G3, finally upgrading her LG Optimus T. She was having the same issue on her old phone, which is what prompted her to give the thing a decent burial.
The problem is that she's intermittently receiving texts 12 hours or more after they're sent. She's seldom anywhere that there's no signal & her old phone only recently started exhibiting these symptoms.
Her SIM card was upgraded when she got the new phone & I installed and formatted an older Class 10 32 GB SDHC card from my S4 after I replaced it with a 64 GB card.
When I receive pictures via text message, i get 2 options, one to open with gallery, or with google photos.... when i open with gallery, the pictures a tiny as hell, and i cant zoom in on them and when i open with google photos they are blurry.
I got it to work once before but i sure don't remember how. I open the pictures with the stock messaging app, handcent, and 8sms and its all the same....
Everything else is working fine but all day I've had issues texting and making/receiving calls. I've done a soft reset at least 10 times. Will let me then do about 2 texts, then it goes back to sending error. Every time I try to make a call it doesn't even ring, just goes to call fail.
why do text messages from other family members being received on multiple iphone 4's. Also, on an itouch device? How do you eliminate this from happening?
im having a problem with sending text sms messages. When isend these messages i get a check mark showing they have been sent. Why should i assume otherwise? And then i hear from multiple people that they received them at 4am or the next day or even just 30 minutes later and out of order. I even tested this with a friend sitting side by side. Out of 3 text messages sent, he only got the 2nd one and didnt receive any of the others. I read on another forum that it might be because my sim card might be old? Is this the knly possible explanation? It is probably at least 4-5 yrs old since i just get new phones but keep my sim card.
There was wondering if any1 could help me, I have recently had a orange envelope appear with a yellow swoosh through it on my home screen where my email envelope icon with the globe on it should be, I don't know what it is and have tried everythin to get rid of it.
In the last week, I began receiving text messages from my friends that are being sent from their "gmail" address. Therefore, it seems to replace the other contact that I had in the phone.
My N8 is no longer showing the image under the text in received mms messages. Now I have to chose objects in an mms to see the image.Has anybody else experienced the same thing after updating to Symbian Anna?
In my message threads, for any messages I have sent it gives the time of the text message in the bottom right of the message. However for any that I have received it only gives the date.
Not the end of the world I know but can be handy to have the time.Is this something that is possible or do I just have to live with it?
