BB Curve 8900 :: How To Mark / Delete All Text Messages?
Jul 14, 2010
First ever Blackberry after only using Nokia's and must say find it hard work/slow. My mate has been winding me up and bombarding me with loads of nonsense sms messages via his iphone as it takes seconds to send them. I know have 200 odd messages showing in my inbox but can only delete them individually
I upgraded from a MotoRazr2 V8 to a BlackBerry 8900 Curve so I wanted to transfer my data from the Moto to the BB. Well, I learned that Moto doesn't play nicely with Mac so my MacBook Pro was not much of a help. I had better luck with my HP running XP and managed to get the contacts switched without too much trouble.
The SMS records are another matter. I couldn't find a way to transfer them using BB Desktop Manager so I made a text file copy of them into a Windows folder I created. Two actually - one for inbox and one for sent items. Now I can't find a way to load those text files onto the Curve. I've tried every way I could think of using Desktop Manager but no dice. I would love a solution that does not require buying more software.
I keep getting texts from the following number 07800002015 it appears that this number is replacing the number the text was actually sent from. I am using vodaphone business account, anything i can do to stop this?
I have a block of texts that I just cannot delete. I've tried deleting them from the SMS Folder and I've also tried taking the battery out while the phone is on for 30 seconds; nothing works.
I have 5 text messages that will not delete from my phone. I have tried: a) delete b) selecting them all and delete c) going to the date and delete all prior d) soft reboot with power off e) hard reboot of removing battery with power on
I have deleted other messages before and after these, so it is just these 5 that will not go away!
Some older sms messages I can't delete. It will clear the chat but not the message details. Any recent ones can be deleted in the normal way selecting message and pressing delete.
N97 on V20.Some incoming text messages display a blue question mark when viewing my inbox rather than the text message icon and cannot be opened or read using voice reader.
Doesn't seem to relate to network coverage as it has happened when I have had a full signal. It's an intermittent fault but an irritating one. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to stop it happening please ?

I have a curve 8900. Just added a data plan. I would like to have my browser to open to Google.com. In browser config. it won't let me erase/delete the default url. When I used the BB with only WIFI I could erase/delete it ok. Rogers BB tech said it was cause this is a older BB. Don't know about that.
I have deleted the text messages. However, it wasn`t deleted from that "event log"... i don`t know how u call it. It that log that is below the clock... that has the most recent messages, tex messages, facebook messages, etc. When I delete the emails, it automatically delete them from this log as well. But with the text messages it is not working. i delete them inside the text messages area, but it don`t get deleted from that other log.
I have over 3000 text messages and I cannot delete them. I can delete each individual text but that will take days. When I click Delete Thread, it will delete all the words but still shows up as messages.
I have two text messages that are actually blank but show up as a couple ten digit phone numbers on my message screen. I'm guessing they were text messages possibly sent by AT&T. They are both the exact same number and have consecutive dates. But I have tried everything to delete them and I still can't get rid of them They show up right underneath [Text Messages] and right about my [Calendar]
is there any other way to delete the text messages rather deleting one by one can we delete in one single tap. (I am talking abt msg thread not conversation, as we have a option to delete the whole conversation in one single tap).
I havea sony z2 and i am unable to delete the text messages  delete conversations, ticked the one i wanted deleted, clicked on dleted, then confirm delete.  Then i get message deleting conversations, then get the message message deleted
My S5 is getting full and I believe it's my text messages. The stock messaging app just crashes every time I try to load it. When I do get it running, the message cap appears to do nothing to the pre-existing messages. My messages kept getting restored from backup through several phone upgrades, from S2, S3, S4 and now to S5. I have over 10K messages each with several people and multitudes of others.
1. Is there a way to determine exactly how many text messages I have on my phone? 2. Is there a way to delete messages by date, ie all messages prior to say June 2014?
I have less than 1Gb of space left and my phone is slowly dying.
This week I left an employer to go to another one. I have not started with the new one yet. I have a personal BB Curve 8900 with work email and one personal email on it. This evening I got the email from the old employer IT dept that they had terminated the work email and BB BES service. Nearly simultaneously, I lost all my personal contacts (which were downloaded off my old flip phone when I got the BB, not from the employer), my personal email account, my calendar, and the memopad documents I had saved for the last 7 months. The phone also reset, removed my password, reset the ringtone, reset the bluetooth settings for my PLT510, and who knows what else. The only evidence that this was still my phone was that my pictures and .mp3s are still there. when an employer terminates blackberry service, is it possible for them to essentially wipe your blackberry clean without your knowledge or consent? If so, how can you set it so that doesn't happen again? If not, is it possible that it is just a huge, inconvenient coincidence, and my BB is experience a major technical difficulty?
I have a new X6. I can delete individual text messages but is there a way of deleting all of the inbox or sent items in one go? I could do this on my old Nokia, which was about 6 years old. I am sure that I must be able to do it on the X6 but just cannot work out how.
I am wanting to know is there a way to delete multiple email messages or normal messages for that matter at one time.If i receive like 20 emails, do I really need to delete each one individually? As it's major painful. Even my old dilapidated cell phone could delete mutiple messages at once.
