Jun 10, 2012I have BB Torch 9800. I can't find the BB Maps icon on my home screen. I have even tried the universal search but it is of no use. I have checked the applications installed on my device and BB Maps are installed there.

However only today I realized that I cannot find BBM or App World. I have done almost everything I can. Click the Show All option, did a battery pull, shut off the phone and started it back. searched the phone for it, clicked switch application to see if it was open there. May 23, 2011When I asked to download it it said it was already there did I want newest version. Said yes, download seemed to work but no icon or means of accessing it - either before or after the latest download. When the phone was new I may have deleted the icon I suppose ... I've tried Show all. I want to use it now so need to find out where to access it from pdq.

I got the error 606 java error and with much head scratching I finally got the phone to plug into my computer to perform an update. When prompted to do the update I checked the box backup and update. The backup completed and went straight into the update. Once the update was complete the restore process began and that's when it all went south. The restore failed in the middle with and error, IM sorry no screen shot, but stated restore failed temporary backup will be stored in.... I was so frustrated I closed the box and couldn't find the folder. I was wondering if there's a place that I haven't looked that it would be accessible. I checked in the backup folder and searched for .ipd folders and nothing. the odd thing is the restore managed to restore my pictures ring tones apps but not contacts or saved messages.

Nov 28, 2012I keep receiving an error when trying to update the device software version from 7.1.0.391 to 7.1.0.746 Rebooted computer, turned off mass storage device, reconnected phone a number of times but still receive the following error. There was an error updating your software. Application Loader was unable to connect with your device. Restart the loading process, reconnect your device and try again.
Unspecified error encountered [A:0x00000001]The phone reboots with the old software and all works fine. I presume its best to wait for a program temporary fix or just not load the software at all.

Sep 12, 2012My daughter has bought today a new Torch 9810. She has entered a new device password. After a few hours she tried to enter her password, but she forgot her password.
After a read of some internet groups, the solution is simple, just type 10 times your password and the BB will restart. I know that all data will be removed, but that is no issue.
Unfortunately the BB will not restart after I retype for then times the wrong password After the reset it starting with a White screen, with a sort of document icon. Within this document icon, appear a lock and cross sign, beneath this icon there is a counter with is repeatedly showing from 0 till 100% and then start over again.
I've tried to disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute, Put in a different sim card, let it run for almost one hour, but nothing seems to work.

Nokia :: E71 Software Updater Unable To Find Device
Apr 5, 2010After having my E71 for over year and a half I decided to update the software for the first time. I backed all the stuff and downloaded nokia software updater. When I started software it found my device and the update. Then it downloaded the software and started to updating. My screen turned black and etc. In the middle of the update, about 5 min in to it, I got an error message saying that connection with my device got lost and it suggested that I turn on the device and start it again. Which I did. When I turned it on and tried again I was getting the same message that connection with my device was lost. I exit the nokia software updater and tried it again and since then updater is unable to find my device. FIY, when I connect my device with USB I get the following modes: PC Suite, Mass Storage, Media transfer, Connect PC to web.I choose PC Suite.
