My son's 9810 died and he wants to temporarily use my old 9800. He put his sim card in and it works but he can't get it to be his name and ID instead of the old one on it.
View 6 Replieswell i activated my storm about a week ago, switching over from my old curve (and quite an amazing switch). but i've noticed that i no longer recieve any emails pushed to my phone from any 3 of my accounts. i activated it over the phone through vzw's 1800 number, is there something more i need to do? honestly i didnt pay much attention to the automated voice, so am i missing something here?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am on a family plan with the rest of my family, but got added several months after they started the plan as I had a contract I was waiting to end. Now, I'm thinking with a $15 data plan, no reason for me not to finally pony up and get an IPhone. But, my number/line is still several months from being "upgradable". I'd have to pay $400 for an IPhone. All the other lines would only have to pay $200. I'd rather not wait several months to upgrade. If one of them upgrades, then gives me the IPhone, how much would ATT complain at me about switching SIM cards and the data plan from their line, to my line, in the family plan?
I'm assuming ATT doesn't want people to do that, I'm sure they'd rather get $200 more out of me. I've seen several people asking about doing this, and very few solid responses. What solid responses I have seen have suggested ATT would cancel the data plan on one line, and open it on the new one, but I don't know how hesitant to do that they would be. If it was a small price difference, I'd bite the bullet, but I don't want to pay 100% more, or wait 4 months..I don't even want to have to renew for 2 years, but I guess you have to.

So after using my Torch for a week or so, I'm starting to really miss my Bold 9700.Is it possible for me to simply put my ATT sim card from my Torch in my Bold 9700 and use the Bold seamlessly? My Bold is unlocked, but I'm worried about email settings/BBM working properly if I switch my sim card out of the Torch.
When I booted up my Bold with my Torch sim card 5 minutes ago I got a txt message saying erroneous number or something to that degree, and BBM attempted to setup a new profile.Do I need to use the device switch wizard?
Off-topic note: I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Help section or the Hacks section, but I found similar problems in this topic so I decided to post here.Anyway, self-explanatory. I am unable to receive MMS from other phones.I have a iPhone 3gs unlocked (T-mobile).I get the error about message resolution size.I've tried every solution found on forums. The weird thing is, it used to work before...At default, it didn't work, so I enabled it. Then it didn't work again, so I fixed it...then broke again and so I fixed it one more time. This time it doesn't work at all.And so I've tried a variety of different things found on countless forums. I've also went into Cydia and downloaded the T-Mobile prepaid package or whatever. I tried all 6 of them. And each time I tried new network settings I restarted my phone.Oh and I have 3.0 software. Jailbroken and unlocked. Also, I can receive MMS from other iPhones, but not other phones.Any suggestions? And no I don't remember the settings that I've used when I fixed the problem. But I'm pretty sure I've used them after going through a number of familiar forums with network settings.So in short
-Can send mms to any phones
-Can only receive from iPhones
-Can't receive from phones other than iPhones

I have an iphone 4s with AT&T service. I have had 2 previous models of the iphone with AT&T and not had a problem before. However, since I have upgraded to the 4s, I cannot send or receive texts to people that still have a 3gs and it also seems to people with Samsung phones. From what I know, everyone is on AT&T for their service. This is very inconveinent and information is not coming across when we assume the text has gone through.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWent to an at&t store today and played with the 9800. I had been excited about it, but had never used a touch screen before. Wow, forgetting any issues that “may” exist with OS or the device itself which others have more than covered enough elsewhere in this forum, I was somewhat disappointed. As implied, it’s not the device or OS, but the use of a touch screen vs. my Bold 9000 that I love so much (and thus I’d probably have the same view with switching to any other touch screen device, BB or not). (However, the 9000 keyboard still IMHO exceeds all others including the 9800, which I found to be small, even for my small fingers).
But for those of you who have switched from similar devices to a touch screen, how was the experience? How long did it take to get fully used to a touch screen etc.? One thing I anticipate missing - believe it or not - is the ease of getting around on my Bold. Now I have PocketDay and have 2 short cuts assigned to every key. Not sure if I’ll have the same abilities on the 9800 etc.
I've seen than HTC phones with similar features than Nokia or Motorola cell phones for instance are cheaper.. Why is that?? For instance HTC Touch Viva is cheaper than Nokia 5800, Nokia 6790 or Motorola MOTOZINE ZN5... Why is that? What are HTC phones disadvantages compared with other brands phones?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI seem to be caught in between a rock and a hard spot When ever my wife sends me an MMS on her I-Phone 5 I get the text immediately, but if she includes a picture it takes up to 25 minutes to get that picture in the galaxy default messaging app. We are on an AT&T Plan with unlimited texting in the Pacific North West. This is an ongoing problem since the release of the galaxy 6. I called my AT&T guy and he says it's an ongoing problem with I-Phones and Galaxy phones and as far as he knew there was no fix yet. I would like to be able to receive text and pictures (mms) from an I-Phone without having to wait 20-25 minutes for the picture to be downloaded. Also, If I chose to have Wi-Fi turned on, the picture never comes in on my phone, I have to turn Wi-Fi off to even receive the picture at all.
