Nokia :: 5230 - Unable To Access Ovi Maps
Mar 10, 2010I have recently bought a 5230 with Ovi maps supposedly installed and since re-installed several times. It has proved impossible to access the maps and despite e.mails and phone calls to Nokia, Carphone Warehouse, and Talk Mobile, no one is able to resolve this problem, or reply to e.mails.I have also spent nearly four hours, in two visits to a branch of Carphone Warehouse, and despite the best efforts of the staff, no one can come up with a solution. Every time I try to connect, I receive " connection failed, please try later," no maps, nothing but empty screens.It would appear that it is impossible for this phone to achieve "what it says on the box."

Jan 23, 2010I have owned a Curve 8310, a Bold 9000, and now a Bold 9700. I have never been able to get Maps to work! I am always showing diagonal lines. I am on O2, I am connected to a BES server, other users on my BES can access Maps but I cannot. I know the GPS works as it locates me but the data downloaded always shows 0.0kb and all I have is them annoying diagonal lines.

Mar 10, 2011I changed my gmail password today on my laptop.Blackberry then sent me an email telling me to go to my email settings under "setup" to set up my new password. However, whenever I try to access the "internet email account" option from the email accounts setup page, I automatically get transferred back to the setup page. When I tried to access "internet email account" a few times in a row, my blackberry froze and I had to restart it.Consequently, I cannot access my email at all since I cant even type in my new password.

Mar 9, 2012My phone has all of the settings sent by the phone company. It will access the internet no problem by going through the browser. However attempting to click on the preinstalled 'store' and 'maps' button starts the programs which then error 'connection failed' connection unavailable'. Clicking on SW updates gives the same error plus "unable to check for updates. Please try later". I haven't updated my phone - not sure how to now the SW updates won't work. Is it just a case of updating the preinstalled software?

Jul 13, 2011I recently purchased a BlackBerry Bold 9780. When I go to the Application Administration I do see that BlackBerry Maps is installed. It also gives the version. But I am not able to see it anywhere in the Menu or even in the search.
Is this something to do with the service provider? I admit I do not yet have a data plan, but I believe it should not need a data plan as it has GPS in-built.

Your device's memory card is full. free some memory. Amount of memory required: 648 MB, amount of memory currently available: 817 MB.
I updated my OVI Suite software (to 3.0.0.284) and the software on my E52 (to 052.003). I first tried to upload one map and it reported full memory. Then I tried to update existing maps and got the message above. Then I deleted ALL maps and tried to upload ONE map and again there was not enough memory..
