Now trying to use Blackberry Protect to restore my contacts list and then want to restore Applictions I had paid for. Any idea how to do this? The BB Protect 'help' says select RESTORE DATA but I cannot see this option, only the option to backup or achive. I suspect this maybe to do with the two different PINS for my device but dont know how to tell it that I have same number, same SIM but different BB i.d.

Can anyone confirm that this will indeed wipe all date from the phone even though it will not turn on, has no battery, SIM card or media card in it?

I will be getting a replacement Storm 2 in the mail on Wednesday(VZW store was out and had to order one). I have a problem with the headphone jack thinking there are headphones in it when they are not sometimes.I was wondering what I need to do leading up to and once I get my replacement? I have used the Desktop Manager Backup program to backup my files. That should take care of my calender, memo, contacts, SMS and any files and stuff on my device....but what about apps. That is what I'm unsure about. How well do those transfer since they have licenses/registration codes?I have bought DynoStorm, Fingerprint Scanner, PatternLock, WeatherBug Elite from App World. From what I have read all I need to do is start App World on my new device and those apps will load on the new device from App World without a problem? Is this true?I have bought BerryBuzz, Call Blocker Pro, Meter Berry, Mileage Meter, QuickLaunch and SmrtGuard(1 Year Subscription) from MobiHand. From what it looks like I can use the Change Device ID and it will generate new codes for me on my new device? Is this all I have to do? Can anybody verify this or tell me what I do need to do for these apps?I have other free apps but those I can just download again.The last thing I'm curious how it will transfer or if it will be a problem is my one theme I have bough Halycon from Elecite. How do I get that loaded onto my new device?If there is anything I'm forgetting to do with backups or apps or anything else I should do before or when I have the replacement let me know. However when I tried to restore a recent backup I made to the cloud it said that I could not do it because the old backup was on an older ios and the new phone was on a new ios. 1. I have moved a lot of programs to the SD card- do I need to move them back to Device Memory?
2. If I sign in with my Google account after the Factory Reset after the OS upgrade, will all the apps automatically be restored/installed?
3. I have the Google backup set automatically and restore automatically- will the data and settings be restored as the apps are restored once I log into my Google account?
4. What about all my internet email accounts (Comcast, GMail, etc.)- will they automatically be restored for the messages that are on the S5 and automatically connected to the accounts or do I have to reset these up again?
5. The S5 is also my work email, which is an Exchange Server- will the Factory Reset mean that my IT dept. needs to reestablish the connection between the S5 and the Exchange Server or will that happen automatically (if emails are part of the automatic restore?)

I just bought the BB Torch 9810 recently and there were some apps already installed on it. Two of the already installed apps were Bejeweled and Telenav. Telenav had to be fully downlaoded, but was a free version. After I connected my phone to Blackberry Desktop Manager, both of these apps disappeared. I was unable to recover either. The Telenav icon was still on the homescreen, but then after downloading it like before, it asked me to buy the app in order to be able to use it. When I first downloaded it, I was able to use it everything on it including the step-by-step voice directions without having to pay for it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling again to see if that was the problem, but it continued to ask me to buy it in order to use it. How do I recover apps that came already installed on the device when I purchased it?

When the maximum attempts had been used, the phone went through wiping and my phone was totally reset. My BBM listing and contact listing were all lost and even my BBM pin was changed. I backed up my BB on Friday, wiped it out and restored the info again. After 15 hours (time that restoring lasted), it deleted all my emails from now until Sep 2011. I tried restoring again today, and it deleted all messages going back to Nov 2010 now. What can I do to have my emails up to date in my 9800? We are using Lotus Notes.
