I have a backup from Torch 9800 and trying restore it on Bold 9900.
Unfortunately restoring the messages is not completed. It stops on 50%. (Messages backup is around 7000+)
Is there any issue with the version of the OS of the phone?
I backed up my BB on Friday, wiped it out and restored the info again. After 15 hours (time that restoring lasted), it deleted all my emails from now until Sep 2011. I tried restoring again today, and it deleted all messages going back to Nov 2010 now. What can I do to have my emails up to date in my 9800? We are using Lotus Notes.

When I click on it it says: Uncaught exception:Java.lang.indexoutofbounds exception.I called att&t, they told me I need to update the OS, I tried to from my device, it takes forever saying preparing to download then I get a message saying Update cannot continue. Update ising blackberry desktop manager on your computer.Version says 6.0 bundle 2342, which I dont see any mention of this anywhere on the web.I tried using Wi-fi only, then att&t network only, then both, it still will not download. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Torch 9800. Ever since I got it, I've noticed that, occasionally, messages will not show up in my inbox. My phone will buzz when I receive them, and I'll have the "new messages" icon on the homescreen, but clicking the messages icon brings me to an empty inbox.
I've noticed this behavior impacting email (my gmail account is the only one I have going to the blackberry), text messages, and two different third-party chat clients.
I don't have any messages being filtered to different folders or anything like that. Clicking "View Folder" verifies that my inbox is selected.
But here's where it gets weird: if I compose a new email and send it, when I return to the inbox, all the messages appear. It's almost as if the inbox is having a problem displaying the message list, but once I force a new item to display (the newly sent message), it shocks it back to life.
i got a BB torch 9800 at the moment and about a month ago my text messages won't send well it sends up to a line of words over a line when i send the message it just dissapears. and i have noticed that my 'i' don't have the dot on top anymore its just a small line?

Issue: BBM Messages are not being delivered or received.I can type out the messages and send, but they are not delivered and I am not receiving any bbm messages. I can send the same message 10-15 times and one may be delivered.Text messages work, and my browser is working, both on data and wireless. Was working fine last night, the issue started today. Have performed both soft and hard reboots, no change.
I remember when Hotmail messages used to come in a lot faster when I had my Bold 9700. Did something change recently on Hotmail's server?I called AT&T today and tried a few things and it looks like my Hotmail messages are coming in faster but still taking at least 5 minutes.My Exchange messages come in a lot faster as expected.Anyone else have this problem? I did delete all my accounts at least twice today. At one point only one email icon would appear (not including the messages icon) but after deleting the one that didn't appear, it fixed it.Hotmail still slow though.

Instead it brings me to a random part of the conversation(although it is usually the same part over and over). This is very small, but very annoying indeed. View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the past 4-5 days I have only been receiving some of the emails that are on Yahoo Mail when checked online. There doesn't seem to be a pattern. Two emails from same sender - sometimes only one will be on BB inbox. There are not any filters set up on the BB.I have tried resetting to factory default and restoring to a backup from BB Desktop. I can send emails fine from the BB - sometimes the auto BCC works sometimes not. The Torch is about 11 months old and worked perfectly prior to this.

Originally all posted to one folder messages folder in the message 'center' where all the sms etc go into (middle of the screen icon at the top) i am not sure what has started to happen but suddenly i then had 2 messages folders and now i have 3. They all go to the same place and sometimes contain the same message which just appears in all 3.
I think this started when i started configuring the sync of the deletion of the folders "folder reconciliation". how i can delete these additional folders as they are just a nuicense they mean very little as mail is randomly flowing into them.
Under the clock when I get a new text or missed call I can click on the notification symbols and it pulls up my calender unread texts and phone calls. Postings from facebook and twitter and BBM groups as well (if there's an unread message of that type) but how do I get it to display my unread BBM messages does anyone know??

I get prompted with a blackberry ID log in screen, it won't accept any password I give it nor will it aallow me to change my password. After restarting it a few times I am now into my phone although can't send any messages or anything, At the top of the screen it says 'Insert SIM Card' when the sim is already in it.

My Bold is unlocked, but I'm worried about email settings/BBM working properly if I switch my sim card out of the Torch.
When I booted up my Bold with my Torch sim card 5 minutes ago I got a txt message saying erroneous number or something to that degree, and BBM attempted to setup a new profile.Do I need to use the device switch wizard?
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.

However after like one day of usage. the text messages starts to go crazy. i couldn't scroll up and down for some SMS and after awhile i couldn't open text messages.

None of the phones are retaining text messages and or previous threads past 30 days. i.e. If I scroll to the last text message, it will go back only 30 days....and the end date changes each day, with text messages falling off.
Upon purchase, I made sure to set all to "Keep messages forever". Does anyone have ANY suggestions? Our previous BB's did not have this issue, and these previous text threads are critical for referencing past text message threads and the data exchanged.
T-mobile Tech Support and RIM did not have an answer
on desktop manager, one could find the backup file for 'folders', 'messages', 'saved email messages' that are used when one does a backup? I seem to have far more files being backed up then I wish.
