I was messing around with the setting on my phone and now I can't figure out how to change one back. How do I change the sender's name back to first name first then last name ? EX: Style America not America, Style.
View 9 RepliesMy name is Brian (with an i), and Siri knows this if I ask her what my name is. However if I am having her write an email or text message for me and I say something like "from Brian" she spells my name "Bryan." On rare occasion she will spell it correctly with an "i," which I can only surmise is due to some subtle difference in pronounciation.
Is there any way I can change her dictionary and only allow her to spell "Brian" and not "Bryan"? This isn't the only name she does this with; whenever I have her write "Colin" in a message she wants to put two L's in it instead of one.

I've been getting email notifications on my BB Torch for emails that have been in my Hotmail inbox for months. Started with random emails from Jan and Feb. Now I'm getting notifications on my phone for messages that I either deleted or moved out of my inbox into a different folder.The messages that are being resent don't show up in the hotmail inbox as a new message.

I can receive emails to my phone from the server, but I cannot get any emails to send from my phone. They are not leaving my phone at all. If I log into my outlook account on a computer, I can see the email has been delivered to me.I called BB support, and they said that there is no way I can do an instant feed to my phone from an outlook account. I don't know why is this happening but when someone calls me his number shows up rather than his/her name. and yes, i do have the person in my contacts this happens only on some contacts, some work fine, i don't know why my contacts got all ported from my simcard to phone card from old sonny erricson and appear just fine in contact book.

The upload was successful ( I even checked the memory card). However this voice option is not available on the phone in the Ovi Maps Settings (not for walking or driving).

As I was scrolling through my recent messages my iPhone 3GS suddenly removed all the contact names from the list of messages and replaced them with their corresponding phone numbers. All I was doing was scrolling through the message list... no settings were changed. After this happened I checked my contacts list, and everything appears to be intact there. However, my phone app also no longer shows the contact name, but just the phone number. Turning the device off then on did nothing. How could this happen as I'm using the device, without me changing any settings on the phone. It makes absolutely no sense at all!

While playing Superbowl the handset started to behave differently. After exiting the game some questions marks (????) appeared on the desktop and instead of icons there were only little titles there. Tried restarting the handset resulted in failure to do so (not booting).

The torch is my first Blackcerry. I used to use iPhone for the last 3 years or so, but now I changed to BlackBerry, but I am almost regreting on that... I can't configure my e-mails at all. I tried to read the posts in the community and have some tip (which lead me to a security wipe that didn't help very much).When I go to the natural way to configure e-mails it tells me (will try to translate) "the network is activated but you are not in an wifi network area". After security wiping, I could get the Register Enterprise Account screen, but I didn't achieve to configure it.Every time the BB ask me to register, I get one e-mail in my inbox, but then the device tells me it was unable to conect to the server due to some error.

For this purpose, I stopped receipt of emails by turning off - via Manage Connections - both the Mobile Network & the WiFi. Hence, I was running silent. Having returned home, I want to initiate receipt of emails again BUT do NOT want the several hundred emails accumulated during my travels to be pushed to my handheld (I remained in touch with emails on trip by using my laptop). Question: how can I now turn on my Mobile Network & WiFi connections and not have pushed to my BB all the emails accumulated over the past 2 months (they still remain on my email server)?
