Please excuse if I am asking a silly question. Actually I got my BB Torch from an acquaintance who acquired it from US. For some reasons I am confused if I got a new handset. Is there a way I can find out if I was given a raw deal or it is actually a new phone.
View 5 RepliesWe have recently had to downgrade our cell phone service for financial reasons, and sprint does not allow you to downgrade from a everything data plan to a talk and text plan only if you have a smartphone.As a result I had no choice but to turn off the phone service on my torch and use a much older non smart phone. I only recently purchased the torch 9850 and still use it daily in wifi areas. I would like to know how it may be possible to still check my email on it. I know I have other devices ( kindle) that are able to access my email accounts without having to use phone service. I would also like to know if any of the instant messaging capabilities would still work, although that I understand not working more so than the email.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have looked all over my phone and cannot find where to check my data useage, phone timers to see how long i talked to a certain number, how many e-mails or text messages were sent.
I wanted to know my data useage because I use the Wifi when I'm at home and I wanted to run Pandora when I slept and didn't know if it would run off my wifi or my data. The phone said data useage charges still apply but I didn't know what my current useage was first off then secondly if my wifi would cover it or not.
I have a Blackberry Torch and I've only had it a few weeks and all of a sudden when I write a text, bbm or email, instead of underlinging the misspelt words it's just randomly underlinging any words, ones that I know are spelt correct like you, but, and etc. and it's stopped automatically adding apostrophes or captalising words. I know it's not a huge issue but it's really annyoing.

I have removed all of the pictures from the contacts on outlook but the error message still appears.

In my office, we are having a connectivity problem with a nexus 5 and after talking with google they request us to send them the phone. They asked if the phone is or has been rooted which, I guess, voids the warranty.We use the phones for developing software and research proejcts, and I know that some of them some times are rooted, some times use not official-roms, etc.
So despite it looks that the broken nexus 5 is a stock one, I'd like to check it and to make sure that it has never been rooted. Is there a way to do so?
Apparently the Nexus 5 is not rooted: play store apps say so, and the bootloader is locked. Still, I cannot be completely sure that the phone has never been unrooted. Is there a way to check that?
I've tried the phone dialer codes but neither work. Any other methods?

- I go into the Phone App
- Bring up my address book, find persons name and select it
- If I have two numbers for that person it brings up a screen showing both numbers and I can select one if I want to ring it.
- But if I only have one number for a person, as soon as I select their name from the address book it starts ringing them
- Which is annoying if I'm just trying to find out what their number is so I can write it down...or dial it from a different phone.
