I have looked all over my phone and cannot find where to check my data useage, phone timers to see how long i talked to a certain number, how many e-mails or text messages were sent.
I wanted to know my data useage because I use the Wifi when I'm at home and I wanted to run Pandora when I slept and didn't know if it would run off my wifi or my data. The phone said data useage charges still apply but I didn't know what my current useage was first off then secondly if my wifi would cover it or not.
Any option for checking internet data usage? Any apps available for that?I am indian postpaid user so in postpaid connection i can't check the data usage
just got my new iphone yesterday and i love it, but one thing has been bothering me. i got it downloaded 5-6 apps using the app store on the phone and than i got a ringtone. check my data usage using the at&t app and its at .12mb. go over to my friends, watch a 5 min Internet video on it and its still at .12mb. woke up today and it was 104.5mb out of my 200mb allowance. after wondering what was going on i switched it so that when im in my house it uses my wifi, but than i check my data usage again and its now at 113.8mb. is this right or is there something running on my phone that is just killing my data use?in short, does 5-6 downloaded apps, 30 min of internet use (facebook/espn), and a 5 min Internet video = 113.8mb?
Is there a data usage counter on the phone that I can check to see amount of data upl and download? I know att provides it but I want to check usage during my Intl trip to London.
I want to add my son on my AT&T plan and put a chip in th 9810 torch that I no longer use. This phone was an outright purchase with no contract. When he is home or around any wifi hotspots, let him surf and stream Pandora to his hearts content. When not in range of wifi I want to prohibit all data access other than the unlimited text and phone. Is this possible? I've seen posts about setting the browser options to use wifi but the talk has been when wifi is no longer available it switches to the BB data. This is what I'm trying to prevent.
My husband and I both have the iPhone 3GS. My husband's phone however will count on the phones data usage 20mb over night while it is charging and on our wifi. it is counting this towards his 3g usage and not wifi. We have already had APPLE reset everything at the store. it is still doing it. so he has to turn off all cellualar data usage at night or it keeps racking up the usage even though it is on our wifi. I plug my phone in at night as well and mine is not doing this
check internet usage? I'm with Orange on a monthly contract, think my allowance is 500GB a month? Is there a way to check usage as going along, dont fancy getting a bill at the end of the month which is huge! Say I use the internet (google, Facebook etc etc) one hour a day, is that a reasonable amount to be within the 500GB limit?Any information/advice on checking or assessing usage would be great?? So that I dont get a huge surprise when the monthly bill comes through.
I just got 2 used Samsung phones (i760 and i770), and wanted to know if there's a way to check how long the phones have been used? Is there a internal usage counter that can be revealed by punching in some code?
I have a Blackberry Bold 9780 and just had to switch it in because the first one I got was defective. Now, I'm worried the phone they gave me isn't actually new. Is there anyway of checking the lifetime usage timer to see if this phone's been used before?
how do I disable data completely avoid data usage and only keep wifi. I have Background Data in Off and wi-fi connected, but I still getting charged for data usage.
I checked out my data usage on the att website and it turns out surprisingly that i consistently use under 200mb a month.
1. I beejive im every work day for at least 2 hours on edge(don't tell my boss) but it suprisingly only comes out to only about 4mbs per day (if i used 3g would the data consumption be higher?)
2. I maybe use slingplayer 1 day a month on 3g (sad) about 10mbs i think
3. I grab email manually by opening up the mail app maybe twice a day max.
Do you think i should switch asap? or is it best recommended to view iphone 4 data usage first in case i upload 720p video (which i doubt they will let you do)
Since 2/23, I have had massive data usage at random times. 1GB here and there, sometimes in the middle of the night. My Data Sense shows that the "Restore data" app has used 8.17 GB in the last two days. All of my other apps are using negligible amounts of data. What is the "Restore data" app, and how do I tell it to stop using so much data?
One additional bit of info: 2/23 was also the date that the Microsoft Health app updated. I use a MS Band. It seems like there may have been some type of update pending on the band. When I called Verizon's tech support, they said that the pending update might have something to do with the massive data usage. We completed the update to the Band, and they said to give it another day to see if the data usage continues. What this "Restore data" app is, it doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the Band.
I have t-mobile as my provider, and I have their new limited $15/month data plan with my HTC HD2.I was wondering whether I can use wifi without data usage going towards my data plan.I expect that the 200MB limit will be reached pretty quickly if I cannot use wifi to balance things out.
I have a new T-Mobile S6 Edge and love the phone, but one thing I have not figured out is why I still get background mobile data usage even though I have disabled mobile data and set "restrict background data". Both tuiService and OS services are downloading approximately 100K at a time periodically over mobile data throughout the day even though I have a wifi connection.
As as august 18th I have sent:1.5GB recieved:14.7GB average that out over 10 months that is roughly: 1.6GB So I am way over the new data caps that o2 has introduced.
i have just got a blackberry bold 9900, on contract i get 500mb data. oranges app is slow about updating data usage, is there a free app, i can use. i had one for iphone called onavo or something? its my first month so its pro rata, i have only got 79mb of data till 2nd nov, i have used 35mb already! so atm data is off.
I had my original 2G iPhone for three years before updating to the iPhone 4. During that three years, I only used about 4 GB of cellular data, so I thought the whole "no more unlimited data" business was blown out of proportion.
Of course, with my old iPhone, I didn't have 3G, so I didn't stream a lot over the cellular network. I decided to try streaming music in my car for a few days on my one-hour-each-way commute to work and back.
I used it for about a week, before switching back to my iPod. I just checked my data usage, and in the three weeks or so that I've had my new iPhone, I have used 4 GB of data already!
That's right, in three weeks, I used the data that I took three years to use on my old iPhone! My data usage multiplied by 52!
That's crazy! Streaming certainly does make a huge difference.
How much data do you use? I just thought I would pose the question.
I'm trying to figure out if I really need unlimited data or if I should choose a cheaper plan. Problem is I don't know which is my true data usage. The first is from the "Settings" app and the second is from At&t's app.
Question: I've used my iPhone exclusively on wifi so far. Yet, I have around 200 kB of data used under my usage details. I haven't even used the phone while on 3G yet.
For those of you that have tethered your phones to the computers using mywi after jbing your iphones...If I have access to wifi at school, and would only use the tethering when not on campus, would I approach the 2gb data usage much? People who use mywi often, do you find that you were approaching above 2gb/month quite often?I know you can't give exact usage rates since it's different for all, but still an estimate would be nice.
Did anyone else here buy the iPhone 4 on an Orange contract?I have the Your Orange app and there was an update for it this morning, and it now shows your data usage since your last bill. However, in my settings it says I have used 23.5mb + 168mb, and in the Your Orange app it says I have used 305mb! Quite a big difference
I know this was really big when the new data planes were announced but i didn't have an iPhone so i wasn't paying attention. My cousin has an unlimited plan now but she has no idea how much data she uses per month... i vagely remember reading about finding out via text ....how can i do this?
1. If the WiFi is enabled, does it mean if I surf the internet any downloading of the pages or surfing does not count towards my data plan usage? Is that correct?
2. There is a golf application (I'm sure there are many) that allows my device to be used as a GPS distance device for golf. It uses the GPS of my device. Is it true that if the app is designed so that my device uses the satellite GPS system vs the cell tower GPS, that there will be no data usage (other than the downloading of the app itself and golf course itself - not major drain of data usage).
I am on a 250Mb allowance contract but don't know how to check how much data I have used so far. I am on Orange and I spoke to an advisor who said its best to reset the counter every month but I cant seem to find the counter.
So I got my S5 in May. That same day We all set our data warning limit at 4 gig. We have 5 phones sharing 20 gig. The other day I decide to check my data usage and it shows 8.82!! And I notice my data usage screen is totally different from what it was. Its white background with a green graph. The dates are May 6 - june 3rd todays date and I can't change that date. There is no tab to adjust for data warnings. I've had several phones and pretty sure I'm getting to the correct screen settings data usage. I'm lost! Also checked US cellular web site for my usage and it shows 1.52 GB on my phone. All the phones together usage is at 11.4GB And 8.52 remaining. I thought maybe my phone was showing Total GB used on the phones but its not. I just called us Cellular they're gonna try to do a reset on their end I'll report back if that works.
