I hope someone can please help me! My new Storm 2 worked perfectly until it fell into a swimming pool. I got a replacement and it works good except when I go online. Things will look quite normal, then randomly there will be symbols strewn in-between and throughout words and sentences. It's very frustrating when I'm trying to look up information for work because I can't read it.

I have been looking for the 3 digit number in the red circle. Can you please tell me were to find these. I a have been up for 20 hours and I have steam coming out my ears at Verizon. I am not going to bother transerfering if it isn't the new phone. They are both refurbished.

I have a problem with the headphone jack thinking there are headphones in it when they are not sometimes.I was wondering what I need to do leading up to and once I get my replacement? I have used the Desktop Manager Backup program to backup my files. That should take care of my calender, memo, contacts, SMS and any files and stuff on my device....but what about apps. That is what I'm unsure about. How well do those transfer since they have licenses/registration codes?I have bought DynoStorm, Fingerprint Scanner, PatternLock, WeatherBug Elite from App World. From what I have read all I need to do is start App World on my new device and those apps will load on the new device from App World without a problem? Is this true?I have bought BerryBuzz, Call Blocker Pro, Meter Berry, Mileage Meter, QuickLaunch and SmrtGuard(1 Year Subscription) from MobiHand. From what it looks like I can use the Change Device ID and it will generate new codes for me on my new device? Is this all I have to do? Can anybody verify this or tell me what I do need to do for these apps?I have other free apps but those I can just download again.The last thing I'm curious how it will transfer or if it will be a problem is my one theme I have bough Halycon from Elecite. How do I get that loaded onto my new device?If there is anything I'm forgetting to do with backups or apps or anything else I should do before or when I have the replacement let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedGot my new 9550 couple of days back. First day to work, it popped out of my "bold holster" and fell. Now I got a cracked digitizer, LCD works perfectly fine. Went to eBay and got a replacement digitizer. Before I open up the phone, got a couple of quick questions:
1. Do I need to solder the digitizer to the LCD or just plug the cable in?
2. The double sided tape that attaches the Digitizer to the LCD, is that the normal thickness tape (say the one we get in Staples) or something thinner? If you know a brand that fits perfectly, it would be a great help.
Managed to drop my Storm 2 and cracked the screen. All working OK, but bits of glass falling off was about to order a new LCD and noticed there seem to be two versions - version 2 and version 3. Any ideas on how I know which version I should order, or doesn't it matter?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe date in the battery area is 26210 or something like that. According to other threads after the 2e2nd of February the screen should have been the new hardware. My Storm still has the depressed upper left corner and a workout of a screen press; I don't understand this. I'm replacing my last storm (which did have the new screen) because of service randomly completely dropping to zero bars until I dropped the call I was on, then going back to full service. So, I guess my question is why do I have a new date stamp with old hardware (even had the green dot on the box).
View 12 Replies View RelatedJust got my S2 replacement and upgraded to .428 before I even did the swap devices with the DM, and now this phone is set up just like my last one with all the same apps and it is absolutely killing the battery. I dont know what it could be, I have went through and checked the obvious to make sure it was all good( brightness, 1XEV only, no apps running in the background or updating, wifi off etc). I've lost 10% in less than 20 mins after a full charge. Maybe delete all the apps and reload them one by one again?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the storm 2 like 2 weeks ago and I loved it only problems were the back button wouldn't work like 40% of the time and my send button rarely worked. Well after reading that they were replacing them free I went to a verizon store today and of course when I took it in all the buttons worked. Well the guy still offered to exchange it for me. the whole thing took less than a half hour and he gave me a new battery just for the **** of it and the replacement is soo much better! All the buttons work and overall typing is soo much better on it now. I didn't think it would go that smoothly but so far I have had verizon almost 2 years and I have had great service with them since the start. Now I looked at the box and there was no green dot on it or anything and I haven't looked at the date under the battery yet cuz I have been using the phone alot and right now im listening to music but all the buttons work great and the back button dosent click like its on crack everytime I click it.

1.What i am still unsure of is which phone is better suited to Canadian phone companies neither will get 3g coverage but will one work better than the other like will they both get 2.5g coverage?
2. Also i have read that possibly the 9520 will be comin to rogers but i havnt heard anything recent on it does anyone have news on a release date or anything?
3. Right now i am thinkin of buyin the storm 9550 from telus and either goin with fido or terminate my contract with them and stay with telus or move to rogers. Is there a company that is better suited to the storm 2 or will either giv me 2.5g?
I know there are a lot of these threads, you don't have to tell me.But i've read some and didn't find what I was looking for, exactly.I am selling my Storm 2 9550, and want to make sure all my information is out of it. But I don't want to make it incapable of using for the buyer. So how do I wipe or just clean out of phone of my info, and still have it working for him? Should I just do a wipe, and then reinstall the OS? Or will he be able to reinstall the OS when he puts it and installs the BlackBerry desktop software? How does it come when you buy it from Verizon?

View 6 Replies View RelatedEver since I installed .713 OS my storm 2 keeps locking up for ten or fifteen seconds at a time.The little clock is in the middle of the screen and spinning. This happens so much it is getting disgusting and annoying. Has anyone else ran into this and what did you do to fix? I did a search but found nothing on this.

However, i realized i haven't gotten an email in a while (im normally good to get at least 3 an hour from reps in my field) So i looked into it and got on my laptop and checked. Sure enough i had 6 emails waiting there for me!! I don't know what i missed on the phone but i am not getting any emails!! I am getting notifications from facebook, MMS, SMS, and BBM but no emails from my Yahoo account.

I then tried thinking of getting a digital voice memo recorder with an in/out line that I could use a wired headset to but I feel like I'm making it too complicated. View 6 Replies View RelatedI am totally brand new towards BB.Recently i had spent about 2 to 3 weeks reading from the forum about 9700 and storm 9520.I myself prefered getting the storm as i want to use the phone more on internet browsing.After reading tonnes of threads, i got to be even more confuse. It seems there are alot of ppl hating this device and alot of ppl loving this device.I guess it has alot to do with the firmware tat each storm is running on. I dun intend to complicates the device and only wish to serve net, bbm, msn, fb with ease. So mostly i might not be getting any 3rd party apps as i am afraid of causing the device to cease normal operations.
My frens had been asking me to get the iphone but i do not wan to be seen carrying the charger all around juz to charge the phone twice a day.My gf is currently using a 9700, but i feel the screen is too small for internet browsing.I had another 1.5 mths more to go for making the decision of getting storm 2. I really hope those verteran user of storm 2 could give me some advice on shd i get storm 2?Or is there a better option for other phone which might serve for my purposes better?Another thing is tat i had seen ppl asking about is the clicking sound could it be disable even with the latest firmware upgrade?
Any problems with it like the Storm1? I never had a lot of problems with the Storm1 but I had a few people tell me the sound on their end wasn't the best.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use my Storm 2 as a Wifi only device as I have switched to another phone. I have set up the Wifi connection to my router and disabled the mobile network. The problem is that only some applications are able to connect to the Internet successfully. I am able to send message through Blackberry Messenger and Pandora streams music but I cannot receive e-mails, load anything in the web browser or use the Facebook app. I am getting an error stating that the device could not connect to the Internet. Does annyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it?
