Can some one please tell me why my Storm2 is now asking me to verify my WiFi connection before connecting? This started today, all previous sites that I have programmed to connected to are now telling me that they are untrust worthy, and is asking me to verify if I want to continue or cancel the connection.

The problem is that when I create my wifi hotspot for connecting my computer to, with network will be created but no internet is available over the connection. I've tried to connect multiple devices to my phones hotspot and none of them are able to access the internet.
I have no clue why but it seems that my phone is not receiving any messages unless I turn my WiFi on. I am trying a battery pull now but I have no clue what could randomly cause this problem. I awoke to no messages this morning which is unusual, so I turned on WiFi and within 30 secs had 9 emails.

I read all the messages about passwords being "incorrect" which affects validating email accounts and this is my problem. I have done the same thing: changed passwords, tried logging in through the computer and showing the password so i know its correct etc. I have even waited hours before attempting to validate my email again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am needing to upgrade to the OS v.5 but my Storm is not connecting to Desktop Manager. I can see that it's connected to my laptop by checking under My Computer. I've repeatedly done a hard reset for my Storm and also uninstalled/reinstalled the Desktop software, restarted my laptop. I also disabled Norton and Windows Firewall. Neither worked. I also decided to do a "wipe handheld" which SORTA worked but doesn't work. Desktop Manager recognizes the Storm connection but still remains disconnected and the phone continues to flash the screen "Connecting to desktop" and goes away. The last time my Storm was able to connect to the Desktop software was in August of 2009 when I was able to backup my data. Now, not only can I upgrade my OS, I can't restore my data because for some reason the phone and Desktop manager will not maintain a connection. I'm beyond frustrated at this point.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having some very irritating issues with connecting my Blackberry Storm to my HP laptop and custom built PC. Both computers are running Win 7. Both computers have Blackberry Desktop Manager on them. Both computer's USB ports are fully functional, been tested by other devices including my old Blackberry Curve 8330. Mass storage mode is on. Here is what is happening: Nothing. When I plug in the micro USB into the Storm and the USB into the laptop/pc, nothing happens on the computer end. No notification that a USB device has been plugged in, no device connected in BBDM. The Storm, however, goes into charging mode. So the USB port works on the phone, because it charges, but NOTHING happens on the computer, no "ding" sound plays like when other USB devices connect, no window activity, nothing.Here is what I've tried:
A battery pull.Restarting the computers.Putting Mass Storage on Auto-Detect.Using an older verson of DM, then reinstalled the one I got from Verizon Wireless' website. Downloaded drivers for BB Storm (I may not have done this correctly, as I am not sure which ones to download) The USB cable I'm using is a "universal" one, with the cord itself being a mini-usb connector, with a micro-usb adapter, that I just bought from Best Buy today. Like I said before, the phone does go into charge mode when this is connected, so the cord itself should be fine. I'm really baffled on this. I've searched the internet over and over, and found nothing. If anyone has ANY idea on what to do, please let me know. And if no one has any idea, can I be pointed in the right direction on contacting someone that does? I really need to be able to connect my Storm to my laptop for tethering purposes.
Just tried connecting my netbook and laptop to my BB because the internet went out again for a bit. I tried on the netbook first, and haven't done so in like a month, but I got a "could not connect to network adapter" message. I tried everything to get it to run, but I got the same message. I then tried on my laptop,....and same thing! Then I tried updating Tether on my BB to the newest version....and no change. Has someone else gone thorugh the same thing,....what am I doing wrong?
P.S. I just tried posting this exact same thread via Opera Mini, but it didn't post....is there some conflict with Opera and this site or other forums?
I'm currently out of the country and have data services turned off. Had to redo settings. iMessage for phone number is now unverified and "waiting to be activated". It works with my email, but not my phone number, which is what most people have. Is there a way to verify phone number when the phone data is turned off? Or can I only receive via my email address until I am back in the US

I did not know my media files were saved on my SD card. I thought they were saved on my device.
In the options, under Memory, it says Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card has been formatted.
First I took the memory SD mini card 8G out and put it back in.
Still same message.
So then I went to Format and formatted it...as it asked me to do.
Error message came up. Saying Format Failed.
However all my files are gone.
I am so mad that my blackberry told me to ensure it was formatted. Everything is gone off my BB.
Is there a way to recover this data?
I haven't backed up my BB before.
I've recently bought a Nokia 5800 xm and have been able to connect it to my home internet using the wlan wifi.
I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?

When I plug it in there is a screen that is normally constant which shows two icons of the BB and the PC connecting. It flashes several times then goes away.The desktop software picks up the BB but doesn't really recognize it. I can perform a backup of the device but I can't use media sync, it says that mass storage needs to be turned on on the device. It is already turned on.I have attempted to use the BB on two completely different PC's with the same results. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop software to no avail and of course performed power cycles on the PC's and BB itself all to no avail.

Ive joined o2 web where u pay £7.50 a month for unlimited internet but when I try to connect it says connecting via o2 WAP then says no connection available. I've tried it at home, work, everywhere but still nothing? my dad is on exactly the same and works perfect everywhere. it works at home connecting to the WiFi. So I guess I am just not setting it up properly.

Another service provider, Maxis doesn't have this problem. Please advise or I will have to purchase a new Storm 2 9520 to stay with DiGi.

Works beautifully on WiFi the naviation once the maps are downlaoded is perfect and the touch and feel of the phone is absolutely brilliant.A sore point in the past three days is the patchy connection to GPRS on Airtel India. I have spent a few hours with their tech support and they are unable to get me online. I have update the firmware to the latest avaialble - 1750.0805.8773.12220 with no luch in connecting to the GPRS connection. The display shows an "E" next to the signal strength indicator but no luck in conncting.
The steps I have tried so far are as follows: a. Settings - Mobile Netwok - APN set to airtelgprs.com which is recomended. b. Used the default Network Setup software to update the settings,Reset the phone to uninstall all applications and bring back to default state assuming that one of the software issued caused this problem. Is there anything else for me to try before I take it to a Nokia Care centre for trouble shooting?

I have a storm 2 on the verizon network and for the past month my phone goes from full charge to completely dead over night while im sleeping. At first i thought maybe the phone or battery were defective but thats not the case. I noticed that when im at home my phone is constantly trying to connect to the net, and that my BBM and browser or any internet service on my phone completely shuts down. This causes my phone to constantly try to reconnect to these apps which in turn drains my battery. Outside of my home, the phone and internet work fine. The strange thing is that for the past 6 months the phone and internet worked great, but in the past month this began to occur. According to verizon there isnt an outage and all i keep hearing is to do a damn battery pull! Does anyone know what might be causing this problem; oh and even when im home the phone still displays a 3G signal, but still does not connect.

I've tried google and found different answers, ranging from "storm 9500 cannot connect to wifi", to "i have one and it can connect just fine". When I touch the icon to connect I get error message "Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to BB App W server. Verify your network connection and try again."
1) the new work connection is working fine.
2) I have downloaded the B App W app twice so far still introduces. Any ideas that can help me?
I have a unlocked N97. Everything is working fine except 2 things that i am having problems with:
1- I have added my WLAN home network in the Internet destination. Also a normal MMS connection for Multimedia Services and my GPRS connection in the WAP Services. I have set the default connection to Internet but still when I open applications like weather or browser, it doesn't connect to WLAN (It's availaible and use is set to Auto, other access points are selected to after confirmation) and it asks for connecting to WAP connection or not.
2- I can't send any text messages and I want to change my message centre. but when I go to Messages > Options > Settings > Message Centres > Options it has nothing as "Add message centre" so I can add a new message centre for sending text messages. what should I do?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
