When he (and it seems only he) sends me an SMS, his first (and only his first) shows up under the name of another contact in my list. After my response, if I am able to figure out it is him, everything then seems to work normally until he starts a new sms conversation sometime later. This has only started since updating my OS earlier in the week.

Got my iPhone stolen. The person turned it off right away. So far it has been offline. I have been sending messages and locking commends through iCloud.com, but have not chosen the remote wipe option yet.
Is it possible for a stolen iPhone be identified after restore? An iPhone has a series number, I assume iTunes would be able to identify this number somehow. Can anything be done on this front?
Anyone know how to move saved messages from the Storm to Storm 2?I recently dropped my Storm in the pool, got the new Storm 2 got all my contacts back but can't figure out how to transfer these messages.
I am using the Blackberry Storm, I believe the 9530 (its the first gen). Anyway, just recently my text messages only stay for a couple of days and then they delete themselves or simpley disappear.
There have been numerous cases where I need the information someone sent me in those messages, but I can't seem to find them. Is there something wrong with how the phone is set up? Is this a memory thing? Is there a way to get those messages back, are they stored somewhere?
I have some PIN messages that won't delete. I can (and have) deleted earlier and later than the ones that won't delete. Can anyone tell me what's going on and how to get rid of those PIN messages?
BTW...on a Storm 2 (9500) with Telus Mobility (Canada) as provider...
I recently began having this problem where my blackberry groups won't receive messages and says the contacts in the groups are unreachable. This is evident in all my groups. I can contact contacts directly however the group function is not working. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I've left and rejoined multiple groups and such.
I am no longer able to delete the messages and notifications I am receiving from Facebook.Sometimes the FB icons are faded, but not all of them are. I am not able to remove either type using my delete options on the phone. If one of them is in the selection, nothing in the selection will delete either.
When I change the email option for "hide sent messages" to yes it always defaults back to no even after being saved. Can anyone tell me why this is the case and how I can change this? My in-box is full of sent messages!
Ever since I downloaded the newest version (1.9.0.20) of Facebook to my BB Storm 9530, I have been unable to delete messages from my Message folder. I can delete the from the Facebook folder but they will reappear & I have to continually delete them. However, I have messages dating back to early November (when I just downloaded the newer FB version last week) on my phone that I can not delete at all & they are beginning to pile up. I have contacted my carrier (Verizon) and I have contacted Facebook but no one seems to know what the problem is.

Issue: I have 2. First, Uncaught exception: java.lang.nullpointer Details: Every time I reboot my machine (which is often do to second problem), I get this error message. The solution involving removal of my contacts and re-syncing is a problem since my current software isn't allowing me to sync the address book in the first place. (I have no idea why.)(See below for software type and version)
Second. Screen locks up at various times. (With nothing consistent in cause)Details: I have not been able to find any rhyme of reason for this problem. The only thing that seems consistent about it is that placing my phone in my back pocket, even for a few seconds, will cause it to lock up. That being said, it will lock up at any time, during any program usage, or none at all. I have had the alarm go off in the morning only to find that the only way to stop the alarm is to pull the battery. I have removed virtually every app from the device. The problem, so far as I can tell, was not timed in relationship to any software install to begin with, but I was hopeful. Let it also be said that I am pulling the battery to reboot my phone a minimum of 3 to 5 times daily. Last week it went for almost 2 days without a problem and then it started right back up. Sometimes I will have to battery pull to make a phone call and do it again to stop the phone call. It is that unpredictable.
BTW: Computer is using - Blackberry Desktop Software Version 7.0.0.43
Now I'm living in Beijing / China and i have no idea how to read my messages in Chinese. It only displays a bunch of squares. In my Desktop manager in the language section there is no Chinese available to install. What can I do? I've read some other post that they talk about changing the OS but where i can get a tutorial and the right OS to change it to? Also, will that change how I use the keyboard right now?
Why does my Storm not keep old SMS messages? Why does it not warn me that they get deleted? Why is there no noticeable way to manage the goddamn 1GB of onboard memory so that this DOES NOT HAPPEN? It's unbelievably ridiculous, as opposed to e-mails there is NO backup for SMSes, which can often be quite personal and irreplaceable. Is there any way I can get them back? NO phone has ever done this before! Windows Mobile, PalmOS, Symbian ALL keep ALL messages, even a 10$ Nokia would tell you the memory is full without deleting anything!!
I can't seem to send text messages (but i can receive them). I'm told by my carrier that i need to change my service center number (and they provided it). I've been looking all over the phone for this option, and can't seem to find it. I keep seeing posts saying "On your device: Options > SMS > Service Center." but "service center" does not appear when i go to options>SMS text. I see the following; screen options conversation style: show names: message options priority: callback number: disable autotext: so my question is;, where do i find this?
Ever since my phone did a software update I can no longer send video messages unless I send them via bluetooth. The option to send the SMS or MMS was removed. Any ideas on how to reinstate this?...
For some reason whenever I set my phone to any sound setting with sounds (not silent/vibrate) my phone won't make any sounds when I receive messages or calls. I use Normal sound setting and I have everything set to specific sounds but when I click "Try it" it does everything I set except for make noise. Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with my phone or what?
I just updated my Storm to OS 5 using Desktop Manager and it backed up and restored everything except my existing MMS messages. Is there any way I can get these back? Can I find out if they are just not displaying somehow or if Desktop Manager backed them up and just didn't restore them?
I need to retrieve a text message from a month ago. I never deleted the message. My Storm has been deleting whole SMS conversations on it's own, when I send a few MMS, or receive a whole bunch of SMS messages. Is there anyway that this old SMS can still be retrieved from my Storm? Again, I never deleted it, my Storm removed it on its own.
I Have A BlackBerry Storm 9530 And I Can't Receive Text Messages From 2 People. There May Be More But These Two Are The Only Ones I Know Of. I Can Call Them And I Can Text Them , They Get My Messages I Just Don't Receive.
alright so i have threaded messaging on my storm 9530 and i was looking at one of my txt convos and scrolling up and it was getting kind of complicated cause i was trying to access a message from about two weeks ago but i txt so much after about 5 minutes i was only up to maybe 3 days ago. Is there a way i can organize my txts like bbm has it where its in a folder marked person and followed by date ? this would make my life so much easier.
Is there anyway to group all text messages from one person so you don't see all of them in your inbox? You just choose one and can view the whole conversation from there?
I am currently reciving two notifications in my "messages" folder when reciving one email.I get one email from Old Navy in my gmail or my me email and in the email folder it shows one. When I look in the "messages" section there are two.
When I delete the duplicate message notifcation it just says "delete" and the first one notifcation it says "on mailbox & handheld" or "on handheld"
I have a symbol I can't identify next to one of my text message conversations. It looks like a tiny cell phone. The symbol appeared when I texted a friend who recently moved to China. He still has his same American Blackberry but no data plan, hence no BMMing, but his messages still appear in my BBM chat list with the same symbol. The conversation shows up under in my text messages like it normally would as well. What does this symbol mean? Does it have anything to do with him leaving the country/deactivating his data plan?
