I have a BB Storm 9530 with OS 5.0x. Of late the response has become slower, The memory is nearly full (only 28MB free in OS area). There is a slight improvement when I pull out the batter and allow it to re-start. Is there a better solution. Will it be OK to change to either OS 6.0x or 4.0x

Every time when I want to end my call and take the phone off my ear I have to wait about 3 seconds for screen to turn back on so I can press end call button.
I found out that, it is slow response now. I check all the application what is running on the phone, but nothing special. Is there any firmware that I need to do? I heard that, from Korea Galaxy S has been firmware upgraded and working better. And also motion sensor? that response is slow too. When I'm on the phone and I take the phone away from my ear than it should light up the screen but, now response is very slow.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a user whose phone is slow to respond only when she selects the Telephone. So I can go into the contacts and scroll up and down and can select contacts and they come right up. I can open apps and type on the keypad with no problems. When I select the phone and say go to contacts (which worked great by itself), I slide my finger up and about 5-7 seconds later the list moves. I select a contact and wait 5-7 seconds again, I type on the number pad and it takes a long time for numbers to appear, same slowness in favorites as well. Anyone know a fix for this? I tried a hard restart by holding the wake/sleep button and home button for 10 seconds but that didn't do anything.

is the BB 9300 3G or EDGE. Whenever I'm going on facebook it takes a while for the comments/photos to open. I don't have a lot of music on my phone. Last night I bluetooth 25 songs to my phone. I don't have videos and 8 photos on my phone. I also don't have other unnecessary applications. I have noticed this phone goes between 3G and EDGE. When its on EDGE then I can put the phone away then I can't do anything.why when I download some "free" applications, like world radio, and when I use it, I get charged. My service provider can't figure this out as it's a BB application. if I audio stream a local radio station [URL] then I experience constant buffering. As per the radio host, I'm the only one that experience this. What can I do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHad a Wildfire for a few days, now, and am getting very frustrated by its slow response and constant freezing. I have loaded a couple of apps from the Android Market (MyPhoneExplorer and SqueezeBox Commander), but, apart from that it is fairly standard. For instance, if the screen has powered off then I press the power button - up pops the display, showing time. Sometimes, if it tap the screen, it says screen is locked and drag down, but, often it doesn't and I have to power off/on again. When it does appear, it is a total lottery whether it will drag down and unlock - occasionally, it drags half way even! It is as if the CPU is going flat out doing something else and can't be bothered to respond to what I am doing.

The A key has stopped working and all the other keys are slow to respond. When the backlight turns black, the only thing I can do to get it back on is to press and hold the off button till the screen reappears, whereas usually I can press any key if the keypad is unlocked which it is...Also sometimes it'll freeze and none of the keys will work yet the rollerball will...I've pulled the battery out and also checked to see if it needed an update through the blackberry desktop software but nothing, been reading some posts to see if anything will help but nothing yet.I want to try wiping the phone by going to option>security options>general... etc and wiping the handheld but it appears I don't have a general tab, once I go into the security options I have Advanced scurity options, encryption, firewall, information and security wipe but none of these help (I want to wipe the whole handheld not do the security wipe).

Im having major issue's with my 9500 not charging ive put a new battery in and taken the phone to a local mobile phone repair man both unsuccesful when i put the battery in another phone it will charge just not in mine.
i have a blackberry storm 2 with vodafone (in the netherlands) Since having the phone the screen has been freezing. In other words every now and then (atleast once a day) i try to click on a app in the middle of the screen and it reacts as if i am pressing the ESC button....sending me back to the desktop. If after calling i want to end a call i press the red button and it again sends me back to the desktop but the conversation carrys on going (really annoying if you get voice mail...can cost a bomb shell) After a while or after pressing many buttons in the middle it starts to act normally again. So this is the problem...i have tried a battery pull, i have tried leaving the battery out for 3/5 days i have even had the phone and battery in a bag of rice to dry it out (as i heard it might have been damp) all with failiure.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a storm 9530 unlocked (previously was registered with verizon wireless). I have a blackberry plan from a different service provider. Everything seems to be working fine except the email, where it says the set is not registered. I have registered it by going to advanced options-host routing table and then registered it. I even got a message from my service provider which says that my wireless handset has been registered.
Still I am getting the same message - the set is not registered, go to options - advanced options - host routing table and register. Also the BB app world is not downloading on to the set. The icon is there but when I click it the web browser opens and nothing happens. There's just white screen with blackberry written as in when you open a BB browser.
I just updated my Storm to 5.0, but during the final step the program froze. I removed the wire, and had to close the program. The storm no longer opens my txt messages. I can go into the folder, and see like a line of what was sent, but can't actually read the whole txt.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Storm is unreliable as it periodically crashes to a white screen with something like "JVM Error 102r", I returned it to vodafone and it was sent away and returned with the latest software installed.However the samecrash keeps occuring, rather than sending it away for 1 - 2 weeks for a software reinstall I do it myself from the Blackberry Desktop Manager, this is a pain and an inconvinience but I have to live with it untill my contract ends and I can leave blackberry for ever.
My more immediate problem is that my home PC crashed and while I was setting up my new home PC my Blackberry also crashed. I downloaded and installed the latest Desktop Manager on to the new PC but I was unable to install and update my Blackberry to V5 software the reason being a connection error "cant connect you may need to enter a password"
I installed an older version of Desktop Manager which gives me access to v4.7 which installed successfuly however, and this is my pressing issue, I can not restore from my back up files (either the backup.ipd files or via the backup cab files) the reason it gives is "you do not have permission to open this file" so is it a windows 7 issue or a Blackberry issue? as I cant even copy the files(s) from my back up usb drive to the new computers HDD.
I recently went on a trip and took over 200 photos on my Blackberry. I need a simple way to transfer all of them to my computer, since obviously emailing them one at a time or moving them one at a time is not practical.When I go to Options > Memory, all options are set to On (Media Card Support, Media Transfer Protocol, and Mass Storage Mode Support).When I go to Media > Pictures > All Pictures, I see all my photos. When I go to Picture Folders, it says Device Memory.
While connected to my PC via USB, I try to pull it up in Windows Explorer. I see options for MTP Device - Device Memory and MTP Device - Media Card. There are only empty folders under Device Memory. Media Card has nothing under Data, and only my music files under Media. Similar behavior when I pull it up under Windows Media Player.
So I bought this used storm. Touch screen worked perfectly.But it had tons of dust under screen. so i did some research found a video on how to clean it. So I lefted the screen with a guitar clip, put a thin lint removing cloth underscreen. Got all the dust out, I was excited phone was looking Good.BUT NOW PHONE DOES NOT RESPOND TO ANY TOUCH AT ALL. I mean NONE. Anyone know what happened? What I need to replace or do now? Any suggestions or feedback would be great.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am building a client/server UDP application similar to the UDP demo that comes with the 9530 simulator: http://www.blackberry.com/go/udpsample. This sample works fine. However, in my application, the simulator sends a UDP message to the server and it is handled just fine, but when the server sends a message beck to the simulator, there is a problem. As far as I can see, the UDP datagram is transmitted by the server, but the simulator/client gets stuck on the "[UDPDatagramConnection].receive([Datagram])" command. It sits there on that command for about 10 seconds, and then must time out or something. It then responds with the correctly received message, and everything is fine. As far as I can see, no new information was received at the end of that 10-second delay, so I guess it's not the server's problem. So everything works fine, except for that 10-second delay. Of course, since the source code for this function is not provided by RIM, it's impossible to get the debugger in there to see what it's getting stuck on. Are there any known issues with UDP connections being slow to receive an incoming connection? Again, my setup is very similar to the one in the RIM-provided example.

Does Blackberry offer an application for this? To receive emails on a Blackberry do you need to a BES? I thought that owning a Blackberry was going to revolutionize my emailing experience, might just go back to the iPhone!

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Storm 1 has recently become so slow that when I receive a phone call, I just get the flashing LED, and the screen tried to turn on, but I just get a black screen with the little "loading" icon. I can't answer the call, I can't do anything. Once it finally catches up with itself, I've missed the call. I have normal applications installed on my phone (weather, call blocker, quickpull, and a few others), and I always check to make sure that none of them are running unless I am using them. I have to reset the phone at least 5 times a day to keep it running at a speed I can deal with, and even then it HATES receiving phone calls. Any idea how I can speed this thing up? I'm not opposed to doing a complete wipe at this point....
