It's a 2 with a circle to the right of it. Inside of the circle looks like a little arrowhead & there is what looks like the red asterik looking logo that appears when you have a new text/e-mail.
View 4 RepliesAbout 24 hours ago, a message icon appeared on my Storm after receiving a phone call. It still is there, right under the date, and it has a red asterisk on it. Initially there was also a red asterisk on the gmail icon, but there are no emails saved, no messages unread or saved anywhere. I took it to the local Verizon store, they looked at it for an hour and got nowhere. I had already removed the battery are reinstalled it, but the thing is still there.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my 9550 set for single row view on my home page.I'll look my screen and holster the BB, now when I view my BB after its been holstered...Rather than it being in the single row view as I have it set, the screen is displaying an icon view with the last used highlighted...How can I get my BB to default back to the single row view ?

But now I can't seem to bring up the vkeyboard on the home screen to allow me to enter the code. All the instructions say to open the menu and select "show VK" but that's not showing in the menu. Also, I mapped it to a side key and it brings it up everywhere BUT the home screen. Did rim disable this ability?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have two email accounts on my storm, both Gmail. On account A, I can click on the symbol on the homescreen and open up the inbox and check my messages. Everything works normally.
On account B, I try to click on the inbox in the homescreen and my BB freezes. After I touch/click on the inbox and try to open it, the whole screen freezes and it won't respond to my touch, even if I hit the escape or BB buttons. If I hit the End (red) button, everything starts back normally. Also, if I hit the send (green) button, the phone app pops up and everything works again.Anybody have any ideas? I tried a battery pull and that didn't seem to work, neither did resetting the host routing table or service log.

There have been a few threads on this idea that having fewer home screen icons means a better performing storm. Has anyone tested this?I've been operating as if this assumption is true, but decided to do some searching to see if it was just rumor and hearsay. I've found nothing that confirms this notion.Anyone have any real insight as to how home screen icons affect performance?

It looks like the voice mail symbol 0_0 but is much smaller & has 2 dots over it. it says 10 to the left, assuming 10 new whatever. The voice mail symbol was next to it when I first used my phone today (so it's clearly not the voice mail), but went away when I set up my new voice mail for the first time (I am using it with a foreign carrier while out of the country for a few months). there are no voice mail messages.
The symbol is not listed in the user guides/keys from BB. I couldn't find any solutions on this forum yet either. I went through every program & menu item & there are no unread messages of any kind.
I have a symbol I can't identify next to one of my text message conversations. It looks like a tiny cell phone. The symbol appeared when I texted a friend who recently moved to China. He still has his same American Blackberry but no data plan, hence no BMMing, but his messages still appear in my BBM chat list with the same symbol. The conversation shows up under in my text messages like it normally would as well. What does this symbol mean? Does it have anything to do with him leaving the country/deactivating his data plan?

We have tried downloading the same web page at the same time and my download actually seemed a bit faster. Does anyone know why my icon does not show 3G?

Since then I replaced my battery and the phone came on with the clock and then the screen showed up. and could not do anything. Then the screen went black. Now when I try to recharge it only a green light appears and nothing else. Did I kill my battery and is the phone no longer good or it's just my screen and i can replace it.

I can't see a way to get the images within the emails to pop up like when I'm on my home PC. I tried changing the browser to IE but still the same result.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had my Storm since it came out. I take great care of it, only update with official revs of the BB OS. I only have a few applications. I turned it on a few days ago and got a white screen that had a JVM error 102. Called VZ tech support and they told me I had a corrupt file in the OS and asked me to unistall and reinstall. I have done this 5 times and still I have a white screen that has reset on it. Even doing a cold boot, nothing changes.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen my screen shows two lines of icons at the bottom, and a few assorted smaller icons at the top (not when all the screen is filled with four rows of icons), the icons at the top aren't in any of the documentation I have read. They are:
1. a small, black circle, with an arrow pointed at about 7:30, and a tiny red circle. I got this, it shows an SMS pending to be read.
2. a gold-colored globe (with latitude and longitude lines, that's how I think it's a globe), with a number "1" next to it
3. A blue square with a little white squiggle, and a red circle.What are they? Other than No. 1, I haven't found them in the doc.

ive got a storm and the screen keeps going to faded out. its not the fade screen lock, tried that, also ive rebooted and updated the phones system 3 times now, each time a 30 min session so could anyone figure out what im doing wrong. also removing the sim; removing sim and media card and leaving the battery out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

My 9530 screen would always stay lit when I had it charging.Recently,it has been dimming to black after a couple minutes while charging.For the life of me,I can't find the setting to keep the screen on.Can someone please help?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had a 9500 and I found sometimes when the screen turns black after 30 seconds, it could not be activated again with pressing screen or any bottom you could find on the phone. The screen looks black, but I could find back light is on, and I have software for screen image capture, these images I captured when screen failed showed me that all the functions are working, just the screen seems out of connection with the machine. I searched several times and I found it happens while using 9500, but there is no solution. It's not possible for me to return it back to carrier and I wonder if there is any technical analysis or solution on this. And another question, what would you do when typing letters on the edge of the screen?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have a blackberry storm 2 with vodafone (in the netherlands) Since having the phone the screen has been freezing. In other words every now and then (atleast once a day) i try to click on a app in the middle of the screen and it reacts as if i am pressing the ESC button....sending me back to the desktop. If after calling i want to end a call i press the red button and it again sends me back to the desktop but the conversation carrys on going (really annoying if you get voice mail...can cost a bomb shell) After a while or after pressing many buttons in the middle it starts to act normally again. So this is the problem...i have tried a battery pull, i have tried leaving the battery out for 3/5 days i have even had the phone and battery in a bag of rice to dry it out (as i heard it might have been damp) all with failiure.

I took my first blackberry storm 9539 as a gift recently. I have no previous experience with blackberry phones and the first thing i noticed as soon as i tried to test the phone is that every time i tap on the screen to make a selection the whole screen is mooving. It seems like the screen is not fixed very well on the phone body. Is it normal or the phone i got is defective.
