When I first installed BlackBerry Messenger, it asked me if I'd like to create a new contact or use an existing contact to represent me. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do, so I just pressed the Escape key. I think I screwed up. Is there any way to fix this problem?
View 2 Repliesi have problem with my iphone4, it was ios 4.3.3 then i update into 5.1.1. before i doing upgrade i have backup all my data into pc via itunes but not succesed, then i do for upgrade because ithink all my contact not lost after do upgrade ios. but now, all my contact lost. can you help me how to recover my contact data ? i'ts looks like if data in pc lost we can recovered using tools. but how if iphone?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Curve 9300. It was updated yesterday to connect with the Blackberry server at work. After the IT person had done this, so that my BB is now synched with my work Outlook program, I found that I had all my work contacts in the BB and had lost all the personal contacts which had been on the BB before he got to work on it. They had not been backed up. I guess tehre's no way to restore them is there? I then backed up my wife's BB contacts from her old Curve 8320 onto my Mac using the BB desktop software. But when I tried to restore that data to my BB, it said that it was a read-only database and could not be restored.

Having around 200 or so contact entries would make it a tedious adventure to re-enter every single data one by one so I'm hoping there is an easier more automated alternative to my problem. I would like to import only the Contact List contained in that back up data from the stolen device to a new Curve 8520. However I do not see any method to do that other than to "Import Files" to the new Curve from the backup data via Desk Top Manager from PC. Is that possible or is that not the mechanism to accomplish this??

Part of contacts list was missing even after backing up data. Font display is noticeably larger. Words on various apps are cut off. Also lost the user guides. Is it possible for me to revert back to 1.6? How to try and successfully install 2.1?

With the Curve I could search for items stored in notes and it would display any contact that contained the search criteria. I currently have a BB Bold 9930. When I do the same type of search it doesn't retrieve the contact. I spent a lot of time and energy to store needed information for quick reference and now it is useless.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.

After finishing the call, the screen goes back to main menu.... but the contacts-app sticks active in the background. In order to close that, i have to long-press the button, switch to contacts, and close. Which is a little bit fussily.....

Also the names are not in order in my phone book.I am using this phone in Canada, and I got it from Ireland so the time on my incoming messages is 5 hours behind.So many issues!!

After having gone a couple of months withs with Gingerbread without any problems to report I started experiencing a strange thing with incoming calls, texts, emails, etc.For incoming calls, the number displayed is the correct number but the screen pulls an incorrect name from my contacts list and displays a picture (taken from either LinkedIn or Facebook profiles) that is from a third, different contact.So the number is for Contact A and is the actual caller, the name that is displayed is contact B and the photo is contact c.If I go to make an outgoing call, the same thing in the inverse occurs.I choose Contact A and it dials contact A but displays it is calling contact B.This has caused me to have to double & triple check when I am making calls to ensure that it is calling the right contacts.
A similar thing happens for texts, incoming texts display the correct number from which they are originating but display that they are from a different contact name.When I go to send a text and enter a number it indicates that it is sending it to the correct phone number but with a different name assocaited with that number. Finally, something similar is happening in email messaging. If I hit reply, while the actual email address is correct the contact name that it lists is incorrect.

Context:I have 2 primary sources of contact information on my blackberry, my personal (gmail contacts) and my work contacts (via google apps). I would like to keep these contact lists separate and apart from one another, but accessible if required. However, as this device is primarily for work, I'd like to not have my personal contacts appearing every time i open the Contacts app. The effect I am trying to achieve is after opening contacts --> click menu --> click "Select Contact List..." --> and choosing one.Is there a way to save this as a preference/default so I don't have to filter each time i open my contact list?

I broke the screen of my 6280 so used a different phone for a while and now that I've repaired it and put the sim card back in the phone displays the number rather than the name in the text inbox. When I try to add the number to the contact it says it's in use for the contact bla bla. The numbers get displayed in the +44 format and are saved in the domestion 07xx format but I can't overwrite it because it then recognises the number.
