Sep 15, 2011Is there any way to change the preferred order of WiFi networks? My office has two WiFi networks, one for my office and one for the conference room down the hall. When I added the network for the conference room I found that when I'm in the office the phone keeps connecting to it, even though the signal is much weaker than the office network. I ended up just removing it from the list, however, when I'm in the conference room I have to re-add it, which is a pain because there's a long password. On my Windows laptop it's easy to just change the order and it will connect to the one closest to the top of the list, but I can't find anything like that on my Photon. It seems like it would be something pretty simple that would have been built-in.

Oct 1, 2011i recently purchased a brand new unlocked Pearl 9100 and on the side of the box was some Vodafone stickers but upon turning on the device i see no reference to Vodafone at all and the software version (6 Bundle 2474 v6.0.0.546) seems to indicate it's generic firmware.I have been noticing the phone changing network layers (Egde, GPRS, 3G) erratically and seems slow to find a nearer tower and switch to it to remain 3G so i am thinking perhaps Optus firmware may have optimisation for this problem but i cannot get it loaded.I have tried deleting the vendor.xml file and reinstalling the Optus 9100 firmware, and following the usual instructions found in this forum but when it finishes reading the phone it states the Optus firmware is not compatible with my device so it's all blanked out.

Jul 1, 2011I've had my Samsung Seek since February and it's a pretty good phone, the best Boost Mobile has to offer second to the Samsung Prevail. I'd like to edit some of the system sound files and edit the theme and just open it up for customization. My girlfriend has a MyTouch 4G and my brother has a Samsung Prevail and I've rooted both their phones. I wish the Seek was as customizable as Android phones but hopefully you guys can help me out. I tried doing a search and nothing came up so I decided to post this topic. How can I go about editing the firmware to change system sound files and appearance? Can anyone link me to a how-to or explain the procedure to me? I'm not on the level of a developer or anything like that, but I can follow instructions pretty well and I can figure stuff out.I searched Google and found this, is it the right tool? How do I use it properly and not brick my phone? Will my service be interrupted once I'm done?

Aug 31, 2015My service provider is Three UK. I'm currently on a trip to Switzerland where my screen broke, and after being screwed around by the Swiss repair factory that Sony uses for three weeks, I've finally got my phone back, except now it's not connecting to the available network (Salt.). The networks show up in the list of searches, but after spinning on "registering on network" for a few minutes all I get is the usual "can't connect to network, please try again later" nonsense. The wifi works, however. I've tried repairing it with Sony Bridge for Mac, still nothing.
When I had a Z2 I had a similar issue once after sending it off for repairs for a broken screen- the repair people dinged up the internal antenna during repairs and it wouldn't connect when it got back. I sent it off again and they fixed it. Could this be the problem now, even though the wifi is working? I have a flight back to the UK in a day and I don't have time to send it off to the same company.
