View 1 RepliesI have the S6 with 5.0.2 and CSC ITV (AP:G920FXXU1AOCV, CP:G920FXXU1AOCW, CSC:G920FXXU1AOCN). Since I leave in Greece, I tried to flash through odin the Stock firmware with CSC EUR but I had fails all 4 times. Tried with both odin 3.0.9 and 3.10. The problem seems to be the hidden file in the end, because everything goes fine until that moment. The result is soft brick. What should I do?

i recently purchased a brand new unlocked Pearl 9100 and on the side of the box was some Vodafone stickers but upon turning on the device i see no reference to Vodafone at all and the software version (6 Bundle 2474 v6.0.0.546) seems to indicate it's generic firmware.I have been noticing the phone changing network layers (Egde, GPRS, 3G) erratically and seems slow to find a nearer tower and switch to it to remain 3G so i am thinking perhaps Optus firmware may have optimisation for this problem but i cannot get it loaded.I have tried deleting the vendor.xml file and reinstalling the Optus 9100 firmware, and following the usual instructions found in this forum but when it finishes reading the phone it states the Optus firmware is not compatible with my device so it's all blanked out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new plain E52 with a German firmware (or maybe with a German language pack?). I would like to use the built-in dictionary in order to translate from and to Chinese.Or, more generally, I'd like to read Chinese text, e.g. on web sites. However, the phone is unable to display Chinese characters; all I see are little rectangles instead of the characters.I assume there is a Chinese firmware somewhere. Can I replace the original firmware by a Chinese version? If so, how do I do it?Is there another way to display/write Chinese characters?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Samsung Seek since February and it's a pretty good phone, the best Boost Mobile has to offer second to the Samsung Prevail. I'd like to edit some of the system sound files and edit the theme and just open it up for customization. My girlfriend has a MyTouch 4G and my brother has a Samsung Prevail and I've rooted both their phones. I wish the Seek was as customizable as Android phones but hopefully you guys can help me out. I tried doing a search and nothing came up so I decided to post this topic. How can I go about editing the firmware to change system sound files and appearance? Can anyone link me to a how-to or explain the procedure to me? I'm not on the level of a developer or anything like that, but I can follow instructions pretty well and I can figure stuff out.I searched Google and found this, is it the right tool? How do I use it properly and not brick my phone? Will my service be interrupted once I'm done?

It is a factory unlocked international variant but I cannot get updates for it via Samsung Kies/SmartSwitch or OTA. I wanted to know if it is possible for phones not linked to carriers to receive OTA updates and also how to choose the correct stock firmware for my Galaxy s6
I have a SM-G920F phone and I recently flashed the UK version of Lollipop to be able to participate in Marshmallow beta program. I didn't like it because it didn't support my gear VR and I went back to Lollipop. Now I have the UK version installed on my phone and I can't get rid of the Android 6.0 beta OTA software update notification.
So I would like to flash the Nordic countries firmware but my pc is broken and I don't have admin permissions for my pc at work. It there a way to flash it without a pc?
I am trying to create a custom firmware for SM-G925F (Galaxy S6 edge). But in the end I get bootloop. What I did:
1. Deodexed /system (unpacked from original firmware) by JoelDroidLollipopBatchDeodexer (based on oat2dex).
2. Synced deodexed /system/framework, /system/priv-app and /system/app with original /system.
3. Repack system partition with ext2simg from Android 5.0.2 distro and sgs4ext4fs by Chainfire.
4. Prepared ODIN package with repacked system partition.
It flashes OK but after it stucks at bootloop. I did not patched anything yet, just deodexed with the tool.
I tried many different combinations but can't understand why it is not boot. On Android 4.4 I had no problems, but it seems some big under-the-hood changes in Android 5 which I don't fully understand yet...
My s6 is rooted and I don't have a custom ROM. What I do have is a highly tweaked phone (sqlite and other CSC tweaks) What I would like to know is that is it possible to create a Firmware backup of my current phone and state as it sits so if i get into trouble i can use Odin and flash the backup i created. The caveat here is that I don't believe i can install CWM b/c it will trip the Knox counter.

current firmware version: PDA:LPJ / PHONE:LPJ / CSC:LPJ (XXX)
I updated my Firmware using Kies and everything seemed to have gone smoothly until i started using the phone. I now have the following issues;
1 Pink spot on camera that wasnt there before
2 My phonebook keeps crashing and my buddy widgets for the phonebook also resets
3 SMS crashes as well
I thought it was suppost to be a fix. If i had known this would happen i wouldnt have upgraded the firmware!
samsung galaxy s ii a month ago and i noticed 2 bugs (i hope not faults).the first bug is the notorious pink spot.even after 2 firmware upgrades,it`s still there.the second bug and the most annoying is the fps drop.in low light conditions (and i mean inside or night),when autofocusing, the fps drop dramatically, like in this video (http://www.Internet.com/watch?=wkqe_62ee6y).again,after 2 firmware upgrades,it`s still there.i really don`t know what to do.i searched various websites and forums and the only "solution" i found is for the pink spot [the solution is updating to ke7,but my version is kj4 (the latest in my country and above ke7)],but still no luck with that.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy last Samsung phone was a note 3, 2 years ago. After that I went through some other non Samsung phones so I wanted to check if this was still the same:
I had bought it through my carrier and then downloaded and flashed the factory unlocked firmware via odin to remove carrier bloat.
Does this still work?
I updated the phone ( OTA ) to 5.1.1. This updated was supposed to bring some improvements and features ( RAW support ) to the camera. I didn't received them so I tried to update the camera firmware manually.
I entered in the "CameraFirmware Standard" panel ( *#34971539# ) and press "Phone to Cam FW Write", but a pop-up appeared showing "F/W Update fail". Next thing I tried was to flash another stock rom, but this didn't fix it.
The camera is working flawlessly, it's just that I don't know how to update it to the latest firmware. Anything is stock on the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried rooting my Galaxy S5 SM-G900T and after the root process with Odin and TWRP in the last step when I rebooted the phone it got stuck on a boot loop in the Samsung logo, so I had no choice but to do a Factory reset which even the OS got deleted in the process. I'm downloading the 5.1.1 firmware for my phone on my computer but I have questions on how to install it on my phone now, because obviously PC is not recognizing my phone or it is not letting me access the storage or sd card once connected. I have Kies 3 in my pc and TWRP on the phone. Which way can I install the firmware on my phone again?
View 3 Replies View RelatedPC is running Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 (64bit version) I have Kies version is 2.0.2.11071_128, The upgrade starts ok and runs until the phone displays 'Downloading...' at which point I get the message 'PC failed to recognise the mobile phone.' and says to disconnect phone, remove battery, restart phone and try again. This i have done several times but the same thing happens every time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI accepted doing it, so it backed-up some of my data and started the installation. The progress bar remained at 0% for more than 40 minutes and I became suspicious that it was not working. I tried interrupting with the cancel button and that didn't work, so the only way was to remove the cable (yes there were warnings not to do it... still I assumed that this scenario would have been foreseen). Kies woke up with the interruption and asked if I wanted to do an emergency firmware recovery, I said yes and proceeded with it. It gave me some instructions to switch off the phone, replace battery, and remove the cable. I switched the phone off and on again and there appeared a symbol representing the loss of connection to the PC, so I re-connected. The recovery started fine, but half way through it, it failed due to a problem on the phone. Since then the phone is dead. It won't start anymore.
