BB Pearl 8100 :: No Internet Access / Error Message To Connect With Active WiFi
Mar 15, 2010
I am new to the forum and have just bought my very first Blackberry, its the 8120 pearl on the Orange uk network. I've had the phone for a week now and just cant get on the internet, when i try to access, say Yahoo, this message come up "This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again". My question is is this phone Wi-Fi only or can i connect thru the old way like i used to do on the Nokia's?
Can someone please tell me what I need to do. When I try to access the internet from my BB I get an error message that says page cannot be rendered. Does anyone know what this means? AND what I need to do about it?
My Blackberry Pearl 9100 sometimes encounters a problem when try to connect internet over WiFi. The Data services was switched on and APN settings were unchecked. It shows the complete signal strength of my WiFi signal but unable to browse. It hits an error message 'Unable to fconnect to the server'.
The google talk app works when BIS was connected. But, over WiFI it doesnt work.
Basically, i found a BlackBerry Pearl 8100 O2 on the street yesterday. I know this might upset some people, but im going to keep it. Because i need a new phone! Now how should i go on about this? will it work with just inserting my SIM ?
Can anyone tell me if the Blackberry Desktop 6.0 properly supports synchronization between Outlook 2010 32-bit and a Pearl 8100 with device software v4.5.0.102 (Platform 2.7.0.85)?I first did a one-way sync from Outlook to my device (replacing all device data). That worked fine. However, using Calendar as an example, the next sync tried to delete all calendar entries from some point in 2009 and prior. It also identified changes to entries that were not changed at all!Sync'ing Task, Memos and Contacts yielded the same problem where items were identified as being changed when they were not. When trying different sequences of synchronization including doing a reset on my Pearl before resync'ing, I get different and inconsistent results. The Blackberry site says I have the latest version of device software, so...
first things first -- a computer whiz I am not!!! I apologize if I come across as a complete **bleep** when it comes to computer jargon but I'm still in the "intermediate at best" phase of my computer knowledge. I have a Blackberry Pearl 8230 with a 4G data card that I can't use, because I cannot connect my blackberry to the computer! It's plugged in with the USB cable, and the device charges, but the Desktop software never recognizes the device. It doesn't say "a new device has been added", and the Desktop software just says "Please connect your device". My husband has a blackberry that seems to connect no problem. I wondered if there were issues connecting 2 devices to the same computer, so I connected my blackberry to my laptop and still no dice.I've taken my BlackBerry to the Telus store, and they have no issues with connections.
They upgraded the software on the BlackBerry for me but it still refuses to connect to the computer. What am I doing wrong? This is a fresh computer with a brand new download of Desktop software (just downloaded the other day).Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm getting rather annoyed at this point.
FIRST QUESTION: I got an unlocked T-Mobile Pearl 8220 and am running on my company AT&T plan. The phone is great except I can't setup internet mail (Yahoo in my case). My company phone support guys have reloaded the phone software but still no icon and they have given up. I have the AT&T data service plan. The icon is definitely not hidden, it is just not there. I saw some posts about MMS and email not working together, and MMS and all other functions works fine. Is there another way to set up Internet mail without using the phone and the Manage Internet Mail icon?SECOND QUESTION: If I can't get this to work, is there a 3rd party internet mail download that anyone can recommend?
I have a problem i have bought a new bb pearl 8110 from t-mobile I was trying to connect to my browser and type an address in it says you have no connection? I can’t go in my email too.
I recently took part in a Digital Connections project whereby I downloaded an app to monitor phone usage through a market research site, when I did this I had to change some internet options in order to allow it certain access.Since then however internet browsing doesn't work, I get a message which says 'Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider'.Are there default settings out there that I can mimic to allow access again? Even with removing the app my settings are obviously what I changed them to but I neglected to keep a record of what they were originally. I believe its connected to the advanced options/browser push settings where there are several options to allow all/deny all/auto and allow specific. Is there any way other than restoring defaults to change them so they are correct? Or if someone has the same phone would they be able to post what their options currently are so I can mimic them to see if they work? All other functions still work as in email/bbm.
The web browser is not working on my Pearl.I am with O2 and have been in the O2 shop for an hour today and on the phone to various people at customer services and still no joy on my Blackberry problem. The internet browser is not working. My e-mail has been set up and i can receive mails only, but not send them. The error code: YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY BROWSER CONFIGURATION SERVICE BOOK ENTRIES, or when I try and send an e-mail, NO MESSAGE SERVICE CONFIGURATION appears, despite re-sending service book codes, plus also turning my phone off, and taking the battery off several times whilst in the O2 shop and then at home when on the phone to customer services. The people at my network are stumped, and so am I!Please, any solutions?
I keep getting the following message:"The network you are connected to appears to be a hotspot. You may be required to consent to legal terms and/or set up an account to get internet access. Hotspot operators may charge service fees for internet access". However, its a free network that my other devices, such as my playbook connect to without problems. When I click "OK" I get another message that says: "This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again." I click OK, and it takes my to the BB browser, which of course doesn't work. Its like it wants me to give permission to use the network, but I need to use the network to give the approval.
-WiFi is enabled -Bluetooth is enabled -Other devices including Playbook currently work on the network -Repeatedly gives me the first message above, followed by the second message above
I was browsing a web site through google when the page went blank and the error message came up. "error message - uncaught exception: shared webkit instance unavailable:null." I can no longer access internet browsing on my blackberry as the message just comes up. Interestingly I can still access my facebook and ebay apps just not use google or internet browser.
I just updated my N8 from symbian anna to belle. Everything went ok. Now I'm trying to connect to my home wifi network which has WEB security. I can connect without a problem. I mean the phone says it's connected to the network. But when I try to access a website there is only the error page. And after a minute or so the wifi connection drops out by itself. I saved the network, and there's no other destination in the settings/destinations menu. the phone is not connecting to it by itself. Is there a way to go back to Anna?
Have had brand new phone purchased through retail store for 1 week and WIFI tethering does not work. Â Other devices can connect to the phone but cannot get access to internet. Â I have the latest updates and no other issues have popped up yet (have not tried usb tethering yet). Â I am running stock software.
I recently deactivated my Blackberry Bold 9000 (v4.6.0.304 operating system) from AT&T since I ported my cell phone number to US Cellular who had better coverage in my region. I'd like to continue using my Blackberry Bold 9000 as a free wi-fi only internet access device and install the Google Voice app so my kids could text message and make phone calls via the Google Voice app and phone's wi-fi connection. While my BB Bold is able to connect to our home wi-fi network like in the past it doesn't successfully connect to the internet and gives me the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."
I just got my hands on an old Blackberry 8100 (OS4.2.1.96)Sadly, I'm almost certain that this phone won't be able to run 5, but while I was in high school this was my favorite phone and I recently just received one..for free. The phone's trackball doesnt work(clicking the trackball scrolls up), and the volume up doesn't work either. I'm not really going to use the phone as cellular device, but I would rather just have it on my desk as a souvenir...in working condition as a backup. So I've decided to buy a new housing for it, probably fixing the trackball problem, and then this is where I'm not sure. Would the new housing fix the volume bar problem also? Or would I have to actual replace parts on the phone?
Now in retirement, I just want to use my 8100 Pearl Smartphone for emergency phone calls and texts on a pay as I go basis.Consequently how do I stop my Blackberry accessing the internet each day automatically which costs 30 pence daily for something I don't use?
I am having a problem to upgrade the device software of my daughter Pearl 8100 from v4.2 to 4.5. The BB update web site does not recognize that is a new version of the device software available.
I have a Pearl 8100 and am running BB Messenger 4.2.1. Once or twice a day as I start to type in a message it stops and gives me the error message "Input System Error. The system is being restarted." It won't do anything but that if I try typing so I pull the battery and it returns to normal. Also, more than a couple times a day when I send a message, it hangs and won't send. Yesterday it looked like a message didn't send, but my friend responded and said it came through.
I cannot access to the intent. When I click in any link, this message appears "This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again". Although I have a Full time internet access plan and my BBM is working with no problems, this message appears every time.lso when I go to Options >Advanced Options> Browser> Default browser configuration, I just find this option "Hotspot Browser".
On Xperia Active: Wi-Fi turned ON but never got to connect to Wi-Fi (both home and public). It's either endlessly "Scanning..." or a loop of "Scanning, Connecting, Disconnected". I just got my unit today and really hasn't done much with it since unboxing. My iPhone connects well to Wi-Fi, placed side-by-side the Xperia Active, at home and in public place.
When I select a WiFi network from the E72 home page, it shows me the option to "Start web browsing".(The other 2 options at this stage are "Search for WLAN" and "Switch WLAN scan off". When I select the option to "Start web browsing", I get a list of bookmarks for the browser. But when I select any of those bookmarks, I get an error message "WLAN: WLAN connection already active. Close it and try again". Has anyone seen this before ? Any clues as to how to solve this?
