I am assuming this is a network issue but I thought I would throw this out there! I sold two 9300 devices yesterday with a email and bbm data package on them and the wifi will not work on either device. Other berries will work on wifi off the same router.

I lot of time after I discover wifi not working only data traffic of cell phone company. When I made Wifi diagnostics I never get the Ip address of the router. I have a dlink - 524 and works with 4 notebooks in my house but don't work with blackberry.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy wife recently bought the Galaxy S5 on Verizon and when anyone sends her a MMS while on wifi it will show that she received it but a download button shows instead of the picture. When she clicks on the button it gives a status bar and then proceeds to say the phone needs to be on data. The same type of message happens when trying to send an MMS.
I have the S4 on the same network and I can do all of this on wifi without any issues.
I have just upgraded from a Z2 to a Z3 and a couple of applications that previously worked fine on my Z2 won't work unless connected to wifi such as viber and voxer and snapchat notifications only coming through when I connect to wifi even though snapchat is working fine.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo for about a week and a half, my Nexus 5 would not allow me to turn on my WiFi. When it first started, if I tried to turn on WiFi then my phone would just shut down and start back up like nothing happened. If I had the WiFi on already, then it would randomly reboot until I turned WiFi off. I searched threads and found nothing that wouldn't void my warranty (I got it in March).
After a couple days, rather than randomly turning off, my Nexus chose to just never let me control the WiFi ever again. I attached a photo to the post that shows what it looks like when I go into my WiFi settings. I no longer have any control over whether my WiFi is on or off, although it has been stuck on the "Turning On WiFi" phase for well over 2 days. Also, all these reboots are hard reboots as in, it doesn't warn me, the screen just goes black and starts back up. Heres what I have tried to solve this issue:
- Reboot
- Format Cache
- Startup in Safe Mode
- Uninstall some Apps
- Contact Google
- Factory Reset
- Updating all my Apps
- Installing Android 5.0*
* This leads me to my second issue, if my screen turns its self off or I press the power button on the side of my Nexus to get the screen to turn off, then my phone just hard reboots. What's even worse is that if I leave it on in my pocket and it randomly restarts due to it automatically dimming/turning off the screen, then, until I hold down the power button to normal power off, my phone will be stuck in a reboot loop. My screen dims, then turns off, then it just reboots and it does this again and again and again. This issue only started happening AFTER the Android L or Android 5.0 (whatever you prefer to call it) update.
All while this is happening, my Bluetooth refuses to turn on, almost like my WiFi, but with my Bluetooth, if I slide the circle to one side to turn it on, it just randomly snaps back into the "Off" position. I contacted Google before Android 5 came out, so the dim screen/power button problem I listed in the paragraph above was not happening.
Now this whole time, with the exception of Android 5.0, as long as I didn't have WiFi on or I didn't have control over the WiFi on/off setting, my phone was fairly stable and I was able to get some stuff down, again, with the exception of the Android 5.0 update.
I dont get particularly good network coverage in my room at home (which I've come to terms with now), but I do get wifi. BBM and FB have always worked due to the wifi, but recently, neither has worked unless i've managed to get network coverage. I've tried battery pulls, and i've tried deleting and re-installing software.

Now we have come back, my phone connects to the wifi but bbm wont work through it. All my other apps that use the wifi work, just not bbm
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry is from outside the States (from Panama, where I am from) and I use it solely on WiFi (with the Mobile Network Antenna turned off) when I am in college in the States.I have been doing this since January, when I first got my Blackberry Curve 8900 (Javelin?). I used it solely on WiFi until about May when I returned home for the Summer. During the Summer I used the device mostly with the mobile network (EDGE data).
Then I returned to college this past August and resumed using the Blackberry only with WiFi turned on with no problem. Reconnected to my school's WiFi network, and my home router here without much problems. Continued doing that until last week, when I went home for Fall Break. Used it on EDGE during my time there... then I returned to school, at it just doesn't work anymore...
I got it this past Sunday night, turned the device on, it connected to my home network, downloaded a couple of BBM messages and after a few seconds I guess the Blackberry decided it didn't want to work anymore, and since then I have not been able to get a single working connection from any WiFi network I've tried... rebooted the device, the router, removed the battery, deleted Wifi profiles, switched to Hotspot browsing, back to default, etc... nothing
Internet WORKS in the Blackberry Browser... I can browse the internet, look up stuff on google, etc.. but BBM, Facebook, Gmail, nothing else will work... Repeat: wherever I connect I can browse the internet, but the WiFi logo does not turn white and BBM and other will not work?
I have tried everything I have read on forums to get the WiFi connection to work, but I did not succeed:
* resetting the BB by removing the battery
* try different security settings for the WiFi, including disabling security
Even after connecting my blackberry through wifii cannot access my wifi me with thisi've not started my blackberry service, is it related to it by any chance

I can check my position okay with the map so GPS is working when i am away from home as well as all other web browsers & emails work fine.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new BB 9360 with unlimited email, bbm and phone plan (no data plan but I didn't have one on my old phone either and I didn't have this issue). When I'm connected to Wifi, my bbm and email works perfectly. As soon as I leave that wifi connection, it shows I am connected to the Bell network but bbm and email do not work until I turn my phone off then on or make a phone call. It is like it has to reset before really picking up the bell network. I called Bell Canada and they basically told me I have to manually disconnect and reconnect every time I leave a wifi connection. That doesn't even work.

But to get the phone to use it for BIS I have to turn off the mobile network and then turn the mobile network back on. But after a few mins it goes back to using the mobile network for BIS and stops using the wifi and it does not go back to using the wifi until I turn off the mobile network again.
