tried to update for the first time on computer. There was problems with the download and now phone not working. Keep getting flasing red light but can't even turn phone on. What do I do!!!
View 1 RepliesI recently updated the software on my blackberry to OS6 and after i seemed to have a problem with my applications email and the internet on the phone. My messages on bbm are not sending and the applications and internet just refuse to load.
i called vodafone as they are my network and they suggested that i go into options, then mobile network, then change the mobile network to any other network, after doing this i would change it back to vodaphone and switch my phone off. i did this and turned my phone back on after 20 minuets but then the proplem was still there.
i am paying monthly for this internet sevice and as a person that uses it on a regular basis (this meaning all day every day!) it is being a real pain.
With the battery fully charged, the screen was only viewable for a few seconds when plugging/unplugging from the charger and would go back to frozen state after. Nothing was working, the trackball, keyboard, etc all just stopped working. Assuming I needed to do an OS update, I went out and got a USB to do one. It just finished, however the BB is still in the same state, and everything seems to be gone from the few seconds I can see my screen... it's all deleted and plus my reception is off..

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have had my blackberry for about 4 months, i am on a sim only contract which has blackberry internet, this morning i installed the blackberry desktop manager so i could update my blackberry from version 4.6 to 5.0, wouldnt let me do it from my blackberry, dont know why. After i did this everything was working fine but my app world had gone, so i downloaded it again and it was the new version, i noticed i could update bbm, so i tried to do this, i then went out to a area which doesnt have signal for orange, so the updates cancelled, when i got back in signal it was telling me to reboot my phone, do i did this, after i did this and it came back on the internet is no longer working, instead of GRPS it says GSM and when i go to services status it says blackberry internet not connected and i cant send bbms, use facebook or the internet, im really confused and dont understand what has happened,i have tried everything but nothing works, do i need to ring Orange?

I have a friend with an 8520 Curve from I-Wireless. After a couple days of using it his trackpad stopped. Now to me from reading it seem that most problems lie with the 8520 series and also seems that its a software issue as a batt pull will fix it for abit. Will updating to os 5.0 beta fix this problem or does the problem lie elsewhere?

Recently, I have been noticing my App World is freezing when I try to download or update my applications. See, I am trying to download Twitter to my phone, and every time I click "download" it says "please wait". It stays like this forever, and I can't press the back button or blackberry menu button. Occasionally, it tells me I need a Blackberry Identity update, which I can't seem to get access to either. After this happens, I can't do anything on the App store, yet I can still run the phone, its just the App store that is frozen. I restart my phone after this, and it resets everything, just to have it happen again. I know I have the Identity update, and all my software is up to date as well.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using a daily horoscope program with no problem since I first got my phone a few months ago. Today when I went to use it, it told me an update was available, so I choose to accept the update. When it asked if I wanted to reboot/restart the phone now or later, I selected now. The phone proceeded to update the software and now I can't use my phone at all.
I tried connecting my phone to my computer so I could restore it, but desktop manager says it can't communicate with my phone. And when I plug in the power cord, my phone doesn't even register that it's charging up. So, since so much of my life is connected to my phone, and I can't use my phone at all, I'm squirming. Of course, AT&T online tech support is closed Sundays; I guess nobody else has a phone emergency on Sundays. All I get is a white screen that tells me to reload software.
I've upgraded from my original OS to 5.0.0.411 (i think) at the start of the year with no problems. Two days ago I attempted the upgrade to .681 which was fine, but I'm not keen on the update as the UMA isn't working properly, so I want to downgrade.
So last night I managed to get back to the original OS 4.? (I was having probs with a straight forward downgrade to another OS5) and tried to upgrade to the Vodafone Italy (I'm on Orange UK) but it wasn't being recognised with the Desktop Blackberry software (vendor file was deleted), although when I went into the upgrade part on the app loader, it did appear there, but with an asterisk saying I had to be registered with Blackberry to be eligible for the upgrade (or something like that). I attempted the upgrade but the software wouldn't allow it.
I removed that software and tried with the Wind release, but again the desk top software didn't recognise it.I tried the .681 release again and the upgrade worked fine
I would really like to go back to a stable OS where the UMA works. Any ideas how to do it with the Vodafone Italy release? Or am I being blocked somehow as I'm registered to Orange UK? If so does anyone have a link to download another earlier release that is stable and not carrier associated?
I tried updating my facebook to the latest version and when it is finish downloading and done the reboot<br>It is still the old version,I tried it so many times and done also the pulling off the<br>Battery and then delete and install it again but stil it did not upgrade.<br>And also my bb app world can't upgrade also to the latest. View 9 Replies View RelatedI got my Nokia N97 & updated it to the latest firmware (12.2.024 - Type: RM-507) via the PC software update. After that I ran SW Update & updated a few apps. Ever since whenever I execute SW Update it starts & then shuts down after about 5-10 seconds. There is 29MB of free space on the C drive.
At first I assumed something was wrong so I re-installed firmware 12.2.024, but still have the same issue.
Can anyone confirm the following:
- is this expected behaviour if all apps are up to date?
- if it is an error is there a way that I can re-install SW Update? Is a .SIS file available somewhere. I've searched, but can't find one.

I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.

All the updates went smoothly, until it restarted I noticed WLAN was not working I do not believe this is a bug from Nokia as WLAN is such a big component of the phone. I've tried going into WLAN wiz it comes up with a SYstem error and the connection manager does not appear to load up either.
The following day I plugged my phone into the computer and tried to re-update the firmware with Nokia software update application provided and to my knowledge (the update on the computer was around 188 MB's where as the update on the phone was approx 13 MB'S
After the computer re-installation of firmware the function of WLAN still does not appear to work.What should i do?

View 4 Replies View Relatedearlier on today I decided to update my device firmware. I have a Curve 9300 and I installed the software version 6.0 bundle 2949. Since doing this, the facebook app tells me "You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application, connect to a Wi-Fi network or contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan."
Facebook has always worked up until the moment I updated my device. I have tried reinstalling the Facebook app. Removing and replacing the battery. Reseting the device.I can connect to facebook via the Wi-Fi, but not through the mobile network (Vodafone UK).
I noticed that notification LED is not working for Messages, Emails and GMail notification. I remembered it was configurable color LED around the Home button.
