My blackberry curve 8520 keeps getting very hot and never keeps charge, i have changed my battery about 2 times thinging it was the battery but had no luck with the brand new ones, i have also chamnged my charger and also had no luck..
View 1 Repliesi have a Blackberry Curve 8520. I plugged the phone in to charge about an hour ago and it seemed to work alright. I then went to move my phone plus charger upstairs so i could charge it overnight, plugged it in with the same charger it worked with earlier and no sign of charging. I've tried with my pc charger aswell and tried different plugs/chargers.

I plugged it in for about an hour but the sign would not disappear so I did a battery pull. Radio turned back on, but now the phone will not charge. The lightning icon still shows up by the battery but it is stuck at 5%. Any suggestions?

If I take the battery out and put it back in and then put it on charge, a red light comes on for about 10-15 seconds and then nothing else happens. Ive only had it 4 days and this has never happened before.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone for quite a while (2 years) and never had any problems with it until yesterday when it stopped charging. A few weeks ago my charger broke so I've been using my USB and my sister's charger when it needed charging and I've tried it on both and it's not been charging on either.
It comes up with the lightning bolt over the battery in the corner to say that it's charging but the % doesn't change and then it turns itself off. I thought it was the battery so I bought a new one and when it ran out I had the same problem.
I've had my Blackberry Curve 9300 for about 7 months now & I've been experiencing this problem for the past 3 months. For some reason my Blackberry "chooses" the chargers that can charge it, i.e. If I use my wall charger, it randomly works, If I use my Boss' Car Charger, it works like any normal charger, I tried using my friend's wall charger, same problem as mine, then I tried another friend's Car Charger, this time it didn't work. I haven't installed any 3rd party apps apart from the usual package like facebook & bbm so I'm guessing the problem is elsewhere. The main problem is the "randomness" of my wall charger; sometimes it takes me a few minutes of pluging the charger to the usb port over & over again till the lightning sign shows that it's charging, but most of the time it takes me as much as 4hrs to get that sign to pop up, in which by that time my BB's already dead. The clock appearing at the time you plug the charger in has no effect as I press the return button every time after the clock appears, & the charging sign still isn't there. It's annoying because everytime the battery goes red are the time when I need it the most, like when I need to meet someone outside the office. I don't want to go through the inconvenience of purchasing a new phone of replacing this one as I have had lots of notes & messages that I want to keep but since there's a USB port problem, I can't even connect my BB to my laptop as it says it can't recognise the USB connection. I've tried with multiple cables as well & none can be recognised.

My phone was fully charged at13:00. I turned the wi-fi, the network, and the bluetooth off. I made no calls. We are now 16:30. My battery is at 70%. This does not seem normal. Can someone offer a solution other than Bell Mobility (lousy service) and Blackberry (even lousier service) Is it possible that that the replacement battery given to me by Bell was another dud?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i charge it, the battery falls very very quickly (MUCH quicker than usual). as in my 'battery life is about 3 hours. at first i thought it was the battery but after replacing it with many times, i realised it was the phone. so i sent it to the repairs. BUT i am currently using a temporary blackberry which has no faults yetthe same problem still persists! the phone (or whatever the cause is) strains the battery too fast.

I got a replacement phone, but I had lost my charger, so I bought one from Tesco, it ha the red LED for around 5 seconds, then it showed up on the screen the battery with the lightning through it. I took the charger out and put it back in, and after that it just wouldn't charge. I went back to Tesco and they exchanged the charger. Still didn't work, what should I do?!

Obliviously, the battery died at the end of the first day outdoor.When I came back to home I connected it to the OEM wall charger and my bb stuck there. It shows me the battery charging picture (the one with a flash in the middle), I can feel the battery becoming hot while connected but the bb don't turn on.When I disconnect the charger the picture disappear but if I can try to turn on it I see just the red led on for some seconds and then nothing.Desktop find the bb but it says that it encountered some not better specified connection error while trying to communicate with the phone. If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.
My daughter has had her 8520 since Xmas and yest we experienced our first big prob! She noticed her battery was running low when she got home from school, so put it on charge. View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a known issue with the 9300 not charging. I purchased my first in December 2010 by mid Feb 2011 it had stopped charging. I returned the phone to my carrier in the uk 3. The phone was unrepairable and was replaced under warranty. Now the replacement phone has the same problem but they are saying that it is a user issue and not a warranty issue. If they are to repair it, I need to pay £119 which is ridiculous as I could buy a new one for £179. They have told me that the charging connection is damaged on one of the internal terminals.
