View 1 RepliesI have duplicated contacts in my BB Curve 8900. The count given by BB is 1120 (my address book) but it seems it is more 3300 (3 times each). About 15 of them are not duplicated. It is synchronized with Lotus Notes with BES at the office (I think). All was perfect for many weeks. I install Desktop Manager at home and I twice export an ASCII file of my contacts to have them in Excel. Then my contacts were 2 times duplicated.
I try both solutions suggested on forums :
- RSET in Options on device : it wipes contacts and repopulate them later. But they were always present in the BB, even if in the options I can read Numbers :
- In Desktop Manager, Advanced option under Backup and Restore, I clear contacts (Address book, and Address book all) : databases show as empty with no records, but records are still there twice before repopulating. After that, each contact is present 3 times.
I have been looking for a solution on many forums without solving my problem even with many topics talking about it. I would like to remove all contacts from the address book and resync after.Anyone have any ideas about how to wipe Contacts that refuse to be wiped?

I use Blackberry Pearl 9105 3G (with classic keypad / candybar) and i got a problem. When i do email setting, i accidentally approve the sync between my email and my Blackberry contact and calendar (which is always show when we put new email account in Blackberry). Now in my contacts always show this; There's a box above the contact name&number:synchronize Using :[URL] And if you go to Contacts > Menu > Options it will appear like this The contact list should be default there, but now it changes with two emails like that. I need help to remove my emails in my contact lists in Blackberry PearlIt's really annoying because it multiplies the contacts number. There's an official solution from Blackberry here > Article ID : KB21118 It says; How to remove a Gmail contact list from the BlackBerry smartphone

Note: Gmail is known as Google Mailâ„¢ in some countries.
Note: Back up the BlackBerry smartphone. For assistance creating a backup file, see KB12487.From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options > Advanced Options > Service Books.Highlight the <username>@gmail.com [SYNC] service book. Press the Menu key and choose Delete.Open Contacts on the BlackBerry smartphone.Press the Menu key and click Options.Type RSET in the Contacts options (this can be typed anywhere in the Contacts Options screen). Note: For the BlackBerry® Stormâ„¢ smartphone and BlackBerry® Storm2â„¢ smartphone, press the Menu key to Show Keyboard. The following prompt appears:Click Yes. But i can't find how to type RSET for Blackberry Pearl 9105 which non-qwerty.
brand new Bold 9650. Issue: I want one suggested "contact" to go away. Example: I have Dave Smith in my contact list, he's the only Dave. But one time I got a listserv email from Dave Adams, whom I do not know nor care about.Dave Adams not a contact, but my friend Dave Smith is.Now every time I begin composing an email to "Dav" the BB suggests Dave Adams first. How do I make this guy go away?
MS Outlook has a featured called "suggest names while completing the to: cc: bcc: fields..." where it does a similar thing. It will suggest any random name you've ever emailed, whether or not it's a contact. HOWEVER...you can delete that name right then and there. To me it seems similar to the predictive text input issue.I.e. one time computer was misspelled "comptuer" and now every time you type comp comptuer is suggested. It's not in the custom dictionary, and there doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of it.
When I enter the mobile number the auto dash ( - ) come automatically after 4 digits
Even when I tried to update number in the contact
why I don't want it , because when I make a backup , the numbers will be with dash ( E.g. 1111-1111-1111 ) and this format I can't restore it in another website or software

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I changed jobs and as a result I used crackutil to remove my old companies (BES) IT policy from my BB.The new company activated via wireless activation (BES) and now I have 2 "desktop" contact lists. I am trying to sync with lotuc notes but cant as only the 2nd desktop list will sync. my original contacts are in the other desktop list and will not sync. I have tried going to contacts > options> typing rset and it deletes the lists but i cant get them to load from back up into one list.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've created Contact Groups that are placed under Phone Contacts (Not Gmail Contacts!).Now I try to delete them and they do disappear from my apps like Contacts GroupU.But if you check the View Contacts - Display Contacts - Phone Contacts from the Phonebook (top left icon in Contactlist) all groups are still there. Some that were created twice are even listed double.I would like to know how I can remove those groups from the list.If I keep a group from the Gmail lst pressed, then I get a popup offering me to delete the sync group.I hope you understand my problem. If not I will take a picture and upload it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI send a lot of group texts and the groups vary quite a bit. I have not set up the various combinations of recipients as actual "groups" in iMessage. Let's say I sent a text to Tom, Dick & Harry. Then the next day, I sent a text to Tom & Dick. Then the next day, I sent a text to Tom, Dick, Harry & Jane. If I now go to send a new message to just Tom, his contact now appears fourth on list of contacts when I type "Tom" in the "to" line, behind:
Group
Tom, Dick & Harry
Group
Tom & DickÂ
Group
Tom, Dick, Harry & JaneÂ
It's even worse because in some instances, I've included names like Tom in over a dozen random texts involving many people. It's like iMessage is claiming I want each of those group texts to be saved as an actual "group" or at least saved in the results when I'm typing in someone's name for a new text. I DON'T want that. I may have sent a text once to Tom, Dick, Jane, Mary, Ted, Bob & Homer to meet me by the third base line at Cellular Field but obviously I'll only actually need to use that group once because everyone knows with a group that large, there's only a slim chance everyone will get out of the Cell alive anyway. I just want to send Tom a text, after he lost a bet and had to go to a White Sox game, and I don't want to have to scroll past all the random "Groups" he's been in just to find his contact.

I made the mistake of downloading Skype and as soon as I did my BB shut down and I have not been able to turn it on since. I bought a new battery thinking that was it but nope. View 4 Replies View RelatedI used to own a BlackBerry 8520 Curve in which I had my Gmail mails pushed to my BlackBerry. I sold my BlackBerry recently to a stranger, and before I sold it I made sure I wiped it all clean by resetting it to the factory settings. However, I just noticed that this person had access to my push e-mails from my Gmail e-mailaddress. He even sent an e-mail from my Gmail address. I checked my Gmail account activity and I tracked the IP address back to Research in Motion in the UK, so I'm positive it's from that BlackBerry (I'm currently not using a BlackBerry right now).
I changed my password already (although I'm not sure if this has any effect at all - I'm not sure if the linked BlackBerry will still be linked with a changed password or not) and I disabled IMAP in my e-mail settings. I was wondering if there is another way on my end to remove my e-mailaccount from that BlackBerry without actually having access to it.
i was fiddling with my BB i went intoEncryption and i had to enter a passwoed, no everytime I lock the phone I have to enter a password to unlock it, how do i get ride of this fearture?
