So a friend of my father's passed on his BB Curve to me after I lost a phone. I'm just realizing it's set for corporate use so I can't set up a personal email or download certain apps I want. I have performed a wipe of the phone already, but all it did was delete the previous owner's information and things, not reset the phone to factory settings.Is there a way to make this phone work for my personal use?
View 4 RepliesWhen my wife recently left her job, her company allowed her to keep her 8830 (sprint). How do I "reconfigure" the device for personal use. It won't allow me to update any of the software or override any of the administrator settings. I have backed-up the device to my home PC, and have sync'd her contacts and calendar items to her home Outlook. Ultimately, I'll want to configure for our Google Apps email, contacts and calendar.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Bold 9000. ATT is my service provide.I successfully set up my gmail account as a separate email account on my BB. I had two email icons on my home page - one for corporate and the other for gmail. The emails were kept separate. After I installed the Gmail Enhanced App, my gmail started to sync into my corporate acct. I uninstalled botgh the enhanced app and the gmail account. When I went to reinstall gmail from the BB device, it resumed syncing into the corporate account.How can I keep these two accts separate?

The contacts were transferred at the store - but after I restored from my DM backup done one week ago - none of my other settings were restored. What did I do wrong or what have I missed? Sprint rep told me the backup restore would get my new 8330 back to being just like the old one - but it's not.I want to get my email settings, apps, ring tones, wallpapers etc, back. I don't want to have to create everything over again when I have a good backup.

The 8330m receives MMS pictures embedded and the 8330 receives an SMS with a link to look at the picture online.I know this isn't new but I haven't been able to find any solution to this if there even is one.
One thing I found is that somewhere it was said that the two phones receive different types of Service books depending on the model.Now, maybe this is a stupid question but I am asking it anyways .Can I somehow copy the MMS service book from the 8330m and put in on my older 8330 ? If it's possible, will this fix the MMS as an SMS link problem ?
I was trying to back up my phone with the blackberry desktop manager. I kept entering my password (I couldn't remember exactly what it was, so I went online and reset it for the last attempt). I got the email confirmation that it was reset, so I entered the new, reset password. It said it was wrong anyway and started wiping my device. EVERYTHING -- all my contacts, all my sms, all my work emails, everything. I popped out the battery when it was at about 6% of the wiping process but whenever I turn it back on it starts wiping again.how can I stop this? It is my phone, I entered the correct password, I only wanted to back up my data and now I'm losing everything instead.

Here is the procedure that a guy at the AT&T store gave me to remove the IT policy and wipe all the data. Before I try this, do you think it will work?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy curve 8310 that i got yrseterday keeps frezzing every 2 min it was on 02 and i had it unlocked to use on vodafone i have put the latest os on and tried the next one down but as soon as i put the phone down for longer then 1 min it will just frezze on the trackerball but i can press the caps lock and the num lock and they work .ive treid wipeing the phone on bbsak and then loading the os then doing the security wipe but it still frezzez up on me i cant think what else to do
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn my thread of "application installation issues", it seems to be determined that my carrier who I got the phone from, is blocking the install of applications as I get a 910 error, application authorization failure, when i try to install an application from: [URL]. After some searching, I've come across BBSAK, which I use to wipe the phone and reload the oS. I've also come across the tool "vendelete" which deletes the vendor.xml files.
So I do the following:
1. Uninstall the original carrier OS from pc.
2. Install OS from different carrier to pc.
3. Use vendelete to get rid of the xml files which it says no xml files were found.
4. Use bbsak to wipe the oS.
5. Reload the OS.
But when the phone boots up, it still shows the sign of the carrier which I don't want, so I presume nothing has been updated? since when I try to install the application again, I still get the 910 error.
i want to know whether it is possible to configure e-mails after wiping out e-mail's ,contacts etc.., using security wipe.

I called my service provider (Digicel Jamaica) then told me to re-register the HRT which i did before many times and a number of battery pulls and nothing happen so i deiced to post this in the forums and see if i could get any help with these issues

I've Googled this topic a bit, and everyone keeps saying you can turn the data connection off, but I still want internet access for Facebook, Google Maps, etc. Turning the data connection off would basically be like shutting off my internet at home, when all I have to do is close Outlook on my company laptop and not open it again until I want to receive email. Is there a way to temporarily prevent email from being downloaded to the Blackberry, while still being able to use data for other services?

However, in the 'Manage Connections' section, there is only the option to turn on and off my 'mobile network' and 'bluetooth'. I looked up the specs of this phone online and all of the websites claim that the phone comes with wi-fi capabilities and I assume that since this phone was released in late 2009 that it has wi-fi.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had my 8330 Curve with Verizon since November 2008. Very happy with it. I also happen to still be using OS 4.3.0.127 (202), which is what the unit came loaded with. I never bothered upgrading because I would always hear of people having issues or DM only backing up your contacts and not your apps, lower music volume, etc. I don't really need Docs To Go, but HTML e-mail would be nice and the biggest thing is trying to improve these BBM delays I constantly get when trying to send a message. I'm thinking an upgrade to the latest BBM might help change that.
Of course, in order to do that, I need to upgrade to 4.5. So I've decided to do it, but not before I ask for feedback here. I've scanned dozens of other threads here, all with varying opinions. It's been long enough. Is it wise to do this and, if so, what is the latest OS for VZW (is it .138)? What risks am I really running here? Need a reality check on this.
I have had this bb for about 8 or 10 months camera has worked fine till last week. Went to use it and it will not zoom in.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a BB newbie but recently received one for work. My problem is trying to transfer the contacts from my old cell phone (Sanyo SCP-7050) to my new Curve 8330. I took it to my local Sprint store and they said the contacts can't be transferred because the BB is registered on a BES. The Bluetooth connection won't work either, I assume for the same reason.Am I out of luck or is there some other way I can get the contacts into my BB? I have the contacts stored as individual business card files (.vcf) and was hoping there is a way to use the micro SD card to load them on somehow.

Also, when I try to upload 5.0OS from my mobile or through the internet and the desktop software I keep getting a message saying there are no uploads available. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my BB 8330 for almost a year now, and just recently, it's starting locking up OFTEN. Almost daily. It will lock up if I take a picture sometimes - it takes so long to save it, I have to do a battery pull. It also locks up when I go to my Facebook Application sometimes, and also if I try to SEND a photo to an MMS address, it will lock up then too. I did notice an "uncaught exception - memory full" error message just today - probably because I let the "locking up" run quite a time and didn't pull the battery yet. If this is the problem, what is my fix? Too many pics on the memory card? Too many apps installed? Too many emails in my inbox? I'm completely clueless.
I am frustrated popping my hard case off daily - which is wearing out the "tightness" of my case, and it's pretty hard to get off!
I just got my first blackberry today and can't seem to figure out how to browse the net. The sales person told me to click on the "world", which I did, but it only lets me search the blackberry site. How do I get to Google?
I know the questions are elementary for the rest of you, so please be kind.Also, I downloaded some ringers off of this site, but can't seem to find them on the phone. I know they are there, as I played them as soon as I got them. I just want to add them to different contacts.
