Since yesterday my Phone has had a static Greed LED Light on the front, i have searched for solutions but most suggestions have failed to work. I had checked the LED Indicator and this is set to Off.

My voicemail was messed up when I got it and they fixed that.I'm just wondering if it has to do with my old voicemail. But I want the icon off! Any suggestions?
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the past 3 or 4 days each morning I wake up my 8530 has lost the data connection. When I open "Manage Connections" I see a green check mark next to Mobile Network- Verizon Wireless and Wifi so I know it's connected. If I un-check the Mobile Network and wait for it to disable then reconnect it will work fine and all my e-mails and texts from the night get pushed through. I have great service at my house so I'm not sure why my phone keeps losing the data connection at some point during the night. I am running the latest OS .886 and this is my second 8530 "certified pre-owned device" as my first 8530 died. I also did a battery pull the first day I noticed this which re-connected the data but it happened again when I woke up the next morning.Has this happened to anyone else?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy BB curve has recently started making a very loud static sound every 5 minutes (when not in use). I have removed all podcast apps and followed other advice on various posts and it has not made a difference. I think I have the most recent OS (6) not sure when it updated and perhaps that is the problem. Also this is not an audible thing meaning adjusting the volume and putting the phone on mute makes no difference. My carrier is Verizon. Really sounds like someone is trying to connect via old school sprint direct connect, every five minutes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve 8520 and last night the green LED came on and stayed on. This was when I was charging it. I have pulled the battery, I have made sure the options for coverage is set to off. I have also uninstalled any apps I don't need. I didn't install anything prior to this happening and it's draining my battery quite quickly. Even when I switch phone off with the red button, the green LED stays. When I pull the battery, the green LED comes on as soon as I put it back in.

It's not flashing, and the red flashing light for messages does appear with it when i have a notification, but the green light always returns... I've tried taking out the battery, but the green light is the first thing that comes on when the battery is replaced. |I then let the battery run down and then charged it again, but the green light remains... What is it? And how can I fix it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the 8900 yesterday, and I had skipped the setup when I opened it up yesterday. Today I decide to restart my BB because I was removing a Google mobile app, so once I restarted, I got the BB set-up tutorial thingy popping up again. So I set the language and set it to not to remind me afterwards. However, once after doing so, the green LED starts flashing green. I asked one of my friends, and he says its Coverage, and told me to turn it off. And I did as I was told, yet its still flashin green. The LED itself isnt flashing constantly like it should in Coverage tho, it blinks about 7-8 times, before it stops, for half a minute and starts blinking once again. Its irriating and I would like to turn it off for good I'm on Rogers carries, and im running 4.6.1.250 OS.

Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

After this the greenish yellowish LED light starts blinking to tell me its charging. I absolutely hate that light and can't stand it. I'm not talking about the green coverage indicator light, which is different. Is there any way to turn this off completely?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

We now have official word from RIM via press release today that unless you have a 9650, 9700, or Pearl3G you have to buy a new phone to get OS 6:"Subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead, the new OS is expected to be available for the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700, BlackBerry® Bold™ 9650 and BlackBerry® Pearl™ 3G, as well as future BlackBerry smartphones."
That being said, are you going to be dumping your 8520/30 for something new just to get OS6?
got a 8520 a couple of months ago, and after two weeks the phone speaker would break up when making a call, so you could only hear 1 in 3 words someone was saying, and inbetween was silence.T-mobile sent me a new one out next day, but now after 4 months the new one has started doing it.Can make calls fine with ear piece, speakerphone is working for playing music, haven't tried it for calls, and handset speaker works fine for music too, but breaks up when phoning anyoneThe second time it happened was just after okaying an upgrade. Anyone heard of this before?

Charged the battery up and phone worked fine and I turned it off before going to bed.
The phone turned on fine this morning and was showing a full charge. I did turn it off when I got to work and when I went to turn it back on when I went to lunch I got nothing. The LED glows briefly and faintly when I try to power the phone on.
I tried hooking to my car charger but with the same results.
I did a search but apologies if this has been covered already...
I just got my new Curve 8520 from O2 (UK) and the software version is 4.6.1.314.. this seems to be really old?
Should I try an OTA update or should I force one using the links I can probably find on here?
I'm having a few issues with gmail not notifying me and a few other things, and I figure they have upgraded software for a reason!
I'm having a bit of a problem updating to the latest version of firmware for my 8520. Currently I've got v4.6.1.314 but Vodafone have released v5.0.0.1168 so I'd like to upgrade to that.
I've already downloaded and installed the firmware on my computer but when I try to use the App loader to install it on my blackberry it tells me v4.6 is the most recent available.
Any ideas why v5 won't show up when I try to install it?
And then explain to me exactly how and when to remove the vendor files?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to setup my Lollipop G3 to use a static ip address on my home network in order to more easily be able to run e.g. an ftp server on it.
My router is a Netgear CG3700. First, I tried its "address reservation" feature, where one can associate a MAC-adress(the phone's) to an ip address on the local network. It was easy to setup, but when the G3 is asking for an ip address, it still gets the first free one in the DHCP range rather than the one I just configured.
I also tried from the phone, by long-pressing the wifi connection and choosing "modify network".
In the window that appears, one can switch from DHCP to static and specify the desired ip address. However, as long as "ip settings" is set to Static, the Save-button is disabled. Someone suggested that entering the wifi password here might work, but Save is still disabled.
Just got a Bold for the wife and can't figure out how to assign a static IP address for my home Wifi.I was able to do it with my Style but I just can't remember how. Google search didn't turn up anything but I know it has to be possible
