I set a password which locks my phone. This seems to be annoying and I want to remove the requirement for a password. The booklet says to go to "device options", select security and that's where I can de select the password. The problem is that I cannot seem to find "device options"..

However, when I go through the menu to the option "Password" the field showing password "Enabled" is light gray colored and small lock is shown. I cannot change this field, no matter what I try.

However, in the last 2 weeks, whenever I have a DC conversation longer than approximately 3 minutes without it ending, my BB locks up. The LED still flashes red, the DC info is still on the screen, but the only button that works is the power button to turn the phone off then back on. No amount of battery pulls fixes the problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed the desktop software on my 64-bit Win7 Home Premium PC in my administrator user account and made changes to the setup (e.g. deleting languages and AOL and messenger apps) then exited and switched to my normal user account to get into contacts and calendar setup, since I use Outlook in the normal user account. The details of my new BB showed up greyed out but 'connecting' went on for ever and I had to use Task Manager to close it down. I guess I have to start all over again and do all the business in the normal user account so is there a reset?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe main reason i bought the phone.Was because of a virtually non existent signal on the Orange network.(dropping calls etc).Anyway. To cut a long story short.It will find UMA.But takes an age to lock on.And sometimes when making /receiving calls i get cut off and my router crashes (loses internet connection)!If i go into my wifi settings in my phone (wifi diagnostics). Under UMA it says 'UMA connection failed'.But no 'error' code!!
I have checked my router setings and everything seems ok as it does on my phone.
But this morning i contacted AOL router support and they told me that it will not be the router but an issue with the phone!
While i am typing this.It has just found UMA (after approx 1 hour of trying) but if i make a call or receive one , i will more than likely be cut off.I forgot to mention that i have a 'speedtouch'(thompson) router. And am thinking of asking AOL for a 'Netgear'!Would this help?Although my laptop and xbox 360 run just fine via the speedtouch with no problems whatsoever
My Curve 8520 is asking for a password which I have no clue to what it is to unlock the phone. I had a password before consisting of 4 digits, but I removed it as I found it quite annoying. But now it's asking for a password and it isn't those 4 digits. But now I've got 1 try left until "information will be erased". What to do ?

I can't browse while on a call, and I can't even activate speaker phone or dial an extension after the initial number. The only thing I can do is hang-up. Once I hang up, everything returns to normal. Is there a new security setting I am missing, or is this some new undocumented extra feature?

evo design 4g locks up completely during calls. Only calls, text msg, internet etc all work. Only during calls, phone completely locks up. Power button wont wake phone up from sleep state. Can still hear and talk to person on other line. Just cant hang up or operate phone at all. HTC already repaired my phone and it didn't do the trick. Im going to send the phone off AGAIN tomorrow. Anyone else have any issues? Not an app interference problem, had the exact same problem happen to the first htc evo design i got.

I've been a customer of blackberry and Telus for the past ten years.Blackberry, or Telus doesn't seem to give a care about the substandard quality of their product or their customers.I had a Storm and traded it in due to the buttons simply not working. Bought a Torch and six months later the buttons failed. Sent it in for warrantee and Telus blamed me for a problem I didn't even have to avoid the warantee until I complained so much they reoplaced it a few months back. Now this piece of **bleep** is giving me the same heartache.Called for support and they said to send it in for warrantee work. I'm a realtor and can't anmswer my phone half the time. I can't use the back button or the menu buttons. I get charged every time I send the phone back for an evaluation even though it's not my problem and its under warrantee.

It has a problem that every few days or so the screen locks up and becomes unresponsive and the only way to reset it is to do a battery pull. My question basically is should I take it back to the shop, or is it likely to need to have android reinstalled or something?
It did this on the very first startup after unboxing, it froze up when choosing the language setting, so obviously it is unrelated to any other apps i have installed. At the time I didnt think it was too much of a problem but then as I say, it started doing it every few days.
Have ICS .587 running on my Ray, but for as far back as i can remember, the phone annoyingly goes into screen lock if i dial a busy number.I've been unable to find an setting that disables this- how to get rid of the screen lock- it's annoying to have to unlock the phone each time i need to redial a number!

View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open my phone with my password, it will lock itself within 10 seconds unless I keep "active" on whatever program I'm in. I've had the phone about 3 months. It didn't do this until I called AT&T last week and did some things that were suggested to me to save data. I didn't do anything with the display settings--in fact, I've gone back in to be sure the sleep setting is 10 minutes (unless I otherwise lock it myself).
