I have an 8520 and in the settings there is a location option which will not change when i click on it. Under this there is a location data which does give me the option to enable or disable This should be used to send the location of the phone

Why is it every time I turn on/off the location from my widget, the location menu always comes up? This never happened before the upgrade as I was always able to just click on or off and nothing else would happen.

I've been tempted to turn off location history on my phone for various reasons (privacy, battery, etc.), but it says that it will affect Google Now. I'm not willing to lose Google Now, so I'm wondering: What effect on Google Now will I see if I turn off Location History?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am not sure,but I think that before rooting and unrooting my Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos and installing a new firmware,with the power saving mode turned on,I could check for a weather information update without turning the location service manually on.
I suppose that the weather information service turned on the location service only for checking for weather information update automatically and then turned it off automatically again. And when I have pressed the weather update refresh button, it updated the weather information very fast. I would also like to add that the weather information,has been updating with no difference if the phone has been connected to a wi-fi network or 3G.
Is there a way I can get back that way of updating the weather information? That was only with the power saving mode turned on!
I have noticed that the searching location comes on and stays on even when location is turned off the only way I can stop is by turning location on then back of again. How do I fix that?

And I use the GPS option on my BBMaps all the time and used to find my exact location and show me turn by turn and follow me where ever I go with OS5. Now those options aren't available with OS6. And when I check in to FB or want to find my location. It shows me 3 MILES away from where I am.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt has previously glitched when turning on, but it always does turn on. It's fully charged, I had it charging all night and in the morning it worked fine. I was turning in on and off a couple time during the day and it started fine. Went to turn in on later and nothing happened. Nothing lit up or anything. I took out the battery and put it back in and nothing. I tried charging it for hours and still nothing. I've only had it about 5 months and the battery seems fine.
